Deer Creek Park is a tranquil park tucked away in Woodway. A small parking lot is located at the entrance on Woodway Park Road. In the evenings I have found that this parking lot can fill up quickly. The main entrance is located to the south of Brown Owl Bridge.
There are trails to walk and benches where you can sit and rest. The trails are well maintained and wash-out and overgrowing of the trails has not been a problem in my experience. At the top of the trail system is a meadow called Krebs Meadow. The meadow has a grassy field, a woodchip floored playground with a few miscellaneous play/exercise pieces. At this part of the park there are also picnic tables and a trash can. A nice place to sit and catch one's breath, do some exploring, and/or have a picnic in the woods.
I enjoy coming here both with my mom and on my own for a walk in the woods to clear my head and feel immersed in nature. read more
