Came here for their dining domes. I couldn't find the dining domes on Yelp so since it is located in Deer Creek I'll post a review here. This is a great concept, I couldn't get a reservation in the evening, but I came for lunch and was surprised by the service and food. The domes inside was significantly warmer, they also have a heater and will bring you a heated blanket. Lunch menu includes kids meal with paying adult which is nice. My hubby got gumbo and I got the braised short ribs. Both meal was great, a little on the saltier side. The kids had corn dog and Mac and cheese bites with fries, I also ordered their special hot chocolate for them. The service was great and we all really enjoyed the experience here. This is their second year doing this and you can tell they put a lot of effort into making it look nice with the lights and everything. Great concept! read more

I recently attended an 85th birthday party for the mother of some friends. The event was held at Deer Creek, a lovely banquet facility and golf course in Ajax. Our three course meal included a deconstructed Caesar Salad, a duo of Braised Beef Short Rib and Herb Basted Chicken Breast, served with potatoes and vegetables. For dessert, we had Classic NY Cheesecake. The food was good, with nice flavours and presentation. The venue was nice and spacious, with LOTS of room for mingling. The service was excellent throughout. It was a good evening, far better than my previous visit. read more

Forget about playing golf, today was all about the wedding and the food served. Surprisingly, their kitchen staff did an amazing job in preparing the pre-dinner food items, consistently hot and the variety was excellent. BBQ pulled pork pastries, bacon wrapped scallops, fried crispy shrimp, fried macaroni & cheese bites (my favorite). Normally I avoid fried macaroni & cheese bites as they're dry and the cheese flavor profile never comes through, these bites were different, moist and gooey cheesiness with each bite. Service staff were quick and explained each tray of food items when asked. There was another wedding reception celebrating in the next venue room, their kitchen must have been slammed but they handled the volume without missing a beat, sufficient service staff is a sign of good management, venue room clean and well decorated, all contributing to make this one of the better wedding and receptions I've attended Kudos to Deer Creek management for creating this amazing event, life is not all about the golf, love brings hope, we can all do better read more

Deer creek has been nothing short of amazing since the pandemic started. Choosing then for our wedding venue was one of the best things that we did, they are extremely responsive, transparent and accommodating. We just did it tasting for the wedding and the food was so delicious! Everything tagged great and eased picture perfect. Fore stars! Completed the South course on a glorious sunny perfect Weekend afternoon. The course was in good shape, and the course provides several scenic holes. Not as nice as the North, but it's a bit cheaper. The clubhouse facilities are fantasitic as we witnessed a wedding during our round. The course is fairly short, as I only needed a long iron/fairway wood two or three times, but you're going to need to be on top of your course management. A few holes have huge risk reward decisions, such as laying up before a creek 219 yards away dog left or taking a chance and going for it. On a day with the wind, I went for it and cleared the bridge, however I still ended up in the same creek that also guarded the front part of the green with about 120 yards to go... It went from having a chance on making a green in regulation to then having to drop and then landing in the back bunker on my next shot, then blading it on the next plus a three putt to end with an ugly 8! For $71 including a cart with GPS, it is definitely not the cheapest round of golf in the GTA, but it's very good value for what you get. I only wish I got as much value from my swing! I'd rate this place the same as a Cardinal or a Royal Woodbine type facility. read more

Deer Creek - Golf Near Me - Ajax, Ontario

Deer Creek is located in Ajax and is one of the more popular wedding venues in the area. This was my first experience going to an event (wedding) at Deer Creek, although I had been through with another bride-to-be checking out the venue a few years ago. The banquet hall at Deer Creek can hold probably up to 500 people but for this particular day, there were multiple weddings and I think it was sectioned off into three different rooms. We were ushered into one of the middle spaces (cutting through the reception space - which in my book is a massive NO NO) for the ceremony. I think if it were me, I'd avoid having the ceremony indoors at Deer Creek (at least in the main banquet hall) because the room was super plain and a lot of the gorgeous wood and windows that Deer Creek is known for isn't shown. Another few issues, we saw another bride and groom having photos taken outside behind the altar for the wedding I was at; and someone decided to start playing music during the bride and groom's wedding vows, which was absolutely terrible. Way to ruin their moment! We were ushered back out to the front bar area for cocktail hour. A note here, this particular bar is at the front entrance to the entire building so its likely you'll have other wedding guests from other weddings coming through the main entrance. It's also not as nice or as big of a space as the bar that's at the back of the building (which also has a very large patio). I think I saw three people go by once with appetizers and there wasn't much selection (although this could have been a choice by the bride and groom) and most people left their appetizers uneaten on the tables. If you have a wedding more than 100 people, this cocktail hour space is going to be way too small. Back into the main reception area, nicely laid out, all of the decor was done nicely except for that ugly back wall that separates the rooms. We had an antipasto platter to start (very good), butternut squash soup (good but most people didn't eat theirs), a salad with pecans and fruit (also good but most people didn't eat it) and steak with potatoes (steak was done medium - yay! - but the potatoes were weeeeeeird. Like they were mashed and then refrigerated and then reheated - yuck). A few other things I noticed - two weddings going on (at least two) and the bathroom garbages were overflowing by 6:30PM. Staff should be on top of that at a venue as nice as this. Same thing with wiping down the counters in the bathrooms - they were soaking wet by this time as well. The staff didn't put enough chairs out for the wedding; they had all of them nicely covered with white satiny covers and then since they hadn't put enough out, they just brought out the regular chairs and put them at the back with no chair covers. Not nice. Oh and the runner that they had laid out for the bride got ripped, multiple times, by people walking on it before the ceremony. They should have fixed it/replaced it as it was a thin paperish runner that could have been laid out again easily. All in, Deer Creek is a decent place for this kind of event but I would probably not choose this venue for my own wedding unless I was going to take over the whole banquet room space. Part of what's gorgeous about this venue is the wall to wall windows in that space and all of the wood and detailing, which got lost when the rooms were sectioned off. Disrupting the vows of the wedding was inexcusable and the venue should have done something about making sure that didn't happen before the ceremony even started. The food was good, probably very good as far as wedding food goes, but the whole venue just left me a little unimpressed. The wedding itself? Amazing. The venue? Not so much. read more

Literally the worst banquet food I have ever had! Attended May 29/19 for a banquet. Dinner was to be served at 6:15pm and didn't come out until 8:00pm. Our table was in the middle of the room yet was served last and only after one of the guests went to the kitchen to mention we were forgotten. Menu was a steak and Caesar salad. The steak was cold, meat was dry and only about half an inch thick with no flavour. The salad looked and tasted like anything you would get at a grocery store (soggy lettuce and tasteless dressing). Extremely disappointed after having to pay $48.00 for this. I tried piling horseradish on the meat but only ended up eating 3 bites of the meat and half the salad. Don't book this facility if you want your guests to have a nice meal. read more

I got married at this beautiful location. Amanda was our coordinator and she was absolutely amazing! She really made the day about my husband and I Other venues we went to check out said we had to pick package A, B or C and we couldn't steer away from it at all - not wine instead of champaign, not one flavour of cooler for another, etc At Deer Creek they have a room minimum which we didn't reach for the room we wanted. We paid the full amount and were able to use that "extra" money towards upgrading our bar, adding another course, etc. Our day was absolutely perfect and a large part of that was the way Amanda treated us (and the other coordinators that would help or cover her from time to time), the beautiful grounds, and the stunning room, bar and balcony/terrace. I attended an absolutely beautiful wedding here yesterday. I have to say that the scenic views and the pagoda where the outdoor reception took place were breathtaking. We were blessed with glorious weather this Victoria Day long weekend and this venue was just fitting for the occasion. The cocktail hour between the ceremony and reception was great as guests chilled out at the deck, overlooking the greens and a few guests saw deer at a distance! The staff was extremely polished and courteous, food was excellent and the event hall indoors for the reception was just magnificent. I highly recommend this venue for brides to be but I would ensure that there isn't another wedding booked on the same day/time. The only unfortunate part of the evening and the venue was that the 2 banquet halls are back to back, and the walls were thin, so when there were speeches going on at the wedding I attended, one could hear the loud dance music from the other wedding party. I think the venue should just allow one wedding per evening. read more

After such a beautiful day and such a perfect wedding . I have to say that I was very disappointed as to how the banquets Manager Christina handled the end of our night , She not only was very unprofessional and very rude but to add to the insulting , she did nothing to help out the entire situation when it came down to it . She was SO RUDE to the mother of the bride , AFTER they had just spent all this money on a wedding- Christina said that it wasn't her problem or concern of how we were going to get all this stuff out of the building , but that it had to go by 2 or that they were throwing it out !!! She yelled at us and walked away from us with her hands in the air and said its OUR Problem ..... I am outraged and disappointed that such a lovely place would have such a callus , unprofessional banquets manager who doesn't have any empathy or a passion to go above and beyond for their guests , especially on someones special day - Your staff if a reflection of your brand and THAT IS VERY POOR BRANDING !!!!
