We had such a fun time with the apple picking! Then, after jumping a fence keeping us in the orchard, we headed points north down a beautiful tree lined country road to see what we could see. After that we headed back to the winery part of this farm and sampled some fruit wine as well as some conventional wines. Well worth the outing!

To our disgust there was mould, and not the blue cheese desirable type of mould inside many packages of cheese and in numerous spots in the fridge. But the real coup-de-grâce was the dead bug that was sealed in the block of cheese. That's right. It was sealed, by the packaging machine inside the plastic wrap. When we pointed this out to the member of staff there she informed us that that was common and was typical of the packaging machine they use. Having experienced such a disgusting disregard to cleanliness we dreaded to think what could or would be in the wines, so declined to taste any. We have vowed to never visit or purchase anything from Ocala ever.

Wedding planning can be extremely stressful and overwhelming. Ryan made the booking and planning process so easy. He replied to emails and messages very promptly and went above and beyond in making recommendations and offering to help in ways outside his scope as a DJ. You can tell he is very knowledgable and passionate about what he does. The day of, he got everything down pat for the ceremony, did a great job in playing the genres we chose, transitioned/faded/cut exactly as discusses, and kept the crowd going during reception. Prices are very reasonable, as they have different packages you can choose from. We personally got 8-9hrs or service which was perfect and came with lighting. His set up was very good in terms of sound and technology. Our guests were able to request songs via text as well. Very happy with our experience with Pump It Entertainment and highly recommend their services for any event you need.

Parking is on a gravel lot, which makes walking through it in heels not fun. This year I wanted something different... something special. A charcuterie board! Yes. That would be perfect. I was searching around online and found Charcuterie Pickering. They were close, their website was beautiful but most importantly, the reviews were great. I thought at first that they might be a better option for our corporate events but then I saw that they had all sorts of options available, large and small. I couldn't find a price list online so surely they're going to be too expensive for what I was looking for but thought, what did I have to lose by requesting a price list? I reached out via their website and Maria was quick to respond to my query. Much to my surprise (and happiness), the prices were reasonable. Since it was just for my husband and I, I opted for the small 10x10 box. Charcuterie Pickering accepts payment by etransfer and credit card (by phone). As I was paying by credit card, I had the opportunity to speak with Maria directly. She asked about allergies and preferences. Thankfully neither of us have any food allergies and because of that, I didn't want to limit her creativity by choosing any preferences. I wanted her to know that she had complete creative licence and mentioned my love for blue cheese so even that would be welcomed... you know, on the off-chance she may have some laying around. (Okay, so maybe that was one preference I was hoping she would include.) We scheduled our pick up for mid-afternoon on New Year's Eve and she came out to meet us at our car. Honestly, at first I was amazed by the weight of the box but as I peaked through the lid, my excitement grew! It was so hard to wait until later in the evening to have it and truth be told, we did dip into it a couple of times along the way. Our box included an assortment of meats, fresh and dried fruit, crackers, olives, jams, jellies and even honey with the most adorable wooden honey dipper. But there she was... tucked into a corner... the most glorious looking blue cheese! To be fair, that blue cheese was the reason why I couldn't wait and ended up sneaking a couple of bites early. Everything was absolutely fabulous... especially that blue cheese! My goodness, that blue cheese! Picking through the box was like a little food adventure... trying everything, in every combination.
