For months, I struggled with severe anxiety, depression, and debilitating PTSD symptoms. Medication was only helping a little bit, and I didn't want to rely solely on it. I was looking for something that could provide more immediate and lasting relief, which led me to the Brain Wellness Center in San Ramon for TMS treatment. Before beginning treatment, I was in profound distress. I experienced intense visceral emotional reactions and PTSD symptoms that felt overwhelming. My trigger responses were debilitating and sometimes turned violent--I was throwing things, breaking things, and unable to control my rage. The emotional flooding was extreme, often leaving me gasping for air and doubled over in pain. I had strong urges to self-harm and uncontrollable impulses toward physical aggression, which I sometimes acted on. I couldn't engage in any therapeutic work--I couldn't even look at books about my type of trauma without becoming dysregulated. My mind was trapped in constant rumination and obsessive thoughts. The anxiety was so severe that I felt like I was losing myself. After completing 50 sessions of TMS, the transformation has been remarkable. I developed motivation for basic self-care like going to sleep early and taking vitamins--things that felt impossible before. When triggered now, I still feel anger surge through me, but I no longer have the urge to be physically aggressive. I can now engage in therapeutic work, reading books about my trauma and participating in therapy discussions. I still feel discomfort, but it's manageable--not the dysregulating panic I experienced before. I've learned to disengage and down-regulate when triggered. I'm calmer and better able to care for myself instead of drowning in obsessive thoughts. The compulsion toward physical aggression has dramatically decreased. My anxiety is much less intense--I can redirect my attention to self-care, and the upset no longer overwhelms me. Most importantly, I'm no longer on my knees or doubled over in emotional pain. I am able to walk toward healing. The doctors at Brain Wellness Center are truly exceptional. Both Dr. Hashemian and Dr. Palmer are deeply compassionate, excellent listeners, and incredibly knowledgeable--they've been doing this work for decades and are true experts. I felt confident I was in capable hands. What I appreciated most was their honest approach with no sales pressure. They truly want you to make the best choice for you, whether that means working with them or another TMS specialist. They were thorough in their assessments and committed to tracking progress systematically. Week by week, I could literally see the steady decline in my anxiety, depression, and PTSD symptoms through their comprehensive measurements. The most dramatic improvement was in my anxiety symptoms. I would say that I started feeling really noticeable relief from my symptoms after about 6 sessions. Next to the treatment's effectiveness, I was most impressed with the staff. Mayra, Angelica, Autumn, and Olivia work seamlessly as the techs and coordination team. They are incredibly kind, consistently professional while genuinely warm and caring, and highly skilled. You can tell they're happy in their work environment. They were efficient with scheduling, accommodating with changes, and excellent at follow-through and communication. Appointments always started on time, and the facility was meticulously clean. I felt genuinely taken care of throughout all 50 sessions. TMS at Brain Wellness Center gave me my life back. I went from being unable to function, violent in my reactions, and contemplating self-harm to being able to engage in healing work, regulate my emotions, and move forward with my life. The relief I sought--something more immediate and lasting than medication alone--is exactly what I found. If you're struggling with depression, anxiety, or PTSD, I cannot recommend Brain Wellness Center highly enough. Thank you to Dr. Hashemian, Dr. Palmer, Mayra, Angelica, Autumn, and Olivia for helping me find my way back to myself. The healing journey continues.

"Professional, Friendly, Competent"…read more No one wants to have Parkinson's disease, but if you do, this doctor is a good choice. We have found her to be very sharp on the subject of neurological diseases. We asked quite a few questions, and she knew the answers right away. Clearly, she is an expert in the field. I guess that's why she wins all those awards. I noticed she again won the top Neurologist in the Bay Area award last year. The doctor recommended a certain imaging procedure to test dopamine levels in the brain. This is the best way to try to isolate Parkinson's. When we got the Dopamine results back, she was very encouraging, and immediately prescribed a particularly effective drug. We feel we are in good hands with this physician.

Updating my review 13 years later!…read more I still adore Dr. Sachdeva and her entire staff. They are so kind and truly caring. Not only has Dr. Sachdeva still been managing my Multiple Sclerosis, but she has also recently been helping treat my migraines. Sylvia, her nurse, is also just so amazing! I know I can call them and they will have my best interest at heart. It's so hard to find a neurologist with a personality, but Dr. Sachdeva is like a doctor and a mom all rolled into one. She will empathize with you but also tell you how it is, in a way that is non threatening. She is the reason why I'm on Ocrevus and haven't had any new lesions in 3 years!!! Be prepared for long waits. It can be frustrating but once you are in the room with you her, you understand why. She truly takes the time to know you, and to talk to you. You will instantly forgot how long you waited once you start talking to her!

My mom decided to see Dr. Lin because of that. She knows Mandarin and he, albeit more fluent in English, is able to communicate with her. In order to keep an appointment, I ended up going with her to her appointment, in order to explain what's going with her, her medication, and the side effects. We arrived at 10:30 AM and signed in for an 11 AM appointment. We soon discovered that they were delayed (again) and that their 10 and 10:30 appointments have not been seen yet. Unprofessional. The lady in the front was rude, was playing with her cell phone for the majority of the visit, and spent 1/2 a minute putting in the doctors note that I needed, before putting it down, doing five other tasks, and completing the form (which took only another 1/2 a minute. It literally takes 10 minutes for a doctors note? Unacceptable: Dr. Lin, albeit patient and knowledgeable in his field, was slow and didn't seem like he was just going with the motions. Overall, this was very disappointing. If given the choice, I would not choose to come here. And therefore same goes for my parents. I will find a better specialist.

After MRI's, CT scans, blood tests, countless RX's, and different diagnosis, nothing worked. Last December we switched our health insurance. I now had the option to choose my own specialist. Dr. Lin looked like a qualified neurologist and was just down the street. I made an appointment for the following week. He asked a lot of questions my first meeting with him. He got a thorough history of my headaches and asked questions no Kaiser doctor had ever asked. After about 30 minutes he said, " I think you're suffering from migraines with aura". He knew all the other migraine medicines I had tried that didn't work and prescribed an injection. I filled it and was ready to use it on the onset of my next migraine. Two weeks later my boyfriend and I had stayed the night in SF and I woke up with the onset symptoms and gave the injection a try. For the first time in three years, I didn't have a migraine after one had started to come on. I couldn't believe it. Dr. Lin gave a name to the headaches that had been plaguing my life for three years. That in and of itself was a gift. And he gave me a treatment that gives me my days back. As any migraine sufferer knows, a day that starts with a migraine is a ruined day. I don't have to live like that anymore. Thank you Dr. Lin!!

Back…read morein 2016, I was in back to back car accidents and in 2018 I began having major cognitive challenges (struggled with basic math, spreadsheets, severe fatigue, etc.). I ended up going to the doctor where they discovered I had an autoimmune and thyroid problem, which my doctor said was the reason for the issues and challenges that I was having. The next year and half was spent trying to keep the "flare ups" at bay and I even went on the anti inflammatory diet (no gluten, no sugar, and no dairy). However, these "flare ups" were gradually getting worse and so was my cognitive function, to the point where it was severely affecting my job. I called my doctor in tears because I didn't understand why I was still having these problems and why they continued to get worse. He wanted to put me on anti depressants and anti anxiety medication, which I've never been diagnosed with having either. Shortly after, I found out that I also had Hashimoto along with my other autoimmune. The doctor had told me that I had Hashimoto my entire life and that my thyroid problem wasn't from the car accident (I initially thought all of these issues stemmed from the car accidents). That's when I began to realize that I could have potentially injured my brain in the two car accidents from 2016. By the grace of God, I discovered Dr. Gould, who confirmed that I don't have depression or anxiety, but something called post concussion syndrome. He began treating me and also putting me in touch with top doctors to get my autoimmune and thyroid back on track. He ensured that I was being treated properly for everything, not just my TBI. He helped guide me as far as what I need to do and who I need to see so that I can get the right treatment to move forward. Not only that, but Dr. Gould is the sweetest and kindest soul. He's very empathetic and understanding. He also explains things very thoroughly so that things make sense. He's extremely responsive and even called me back on a Sunday. I would highly recommend Dr. Gould and would even go as far to say that he is by far the best doctor that I have ever worked with. Because of him, I finally have my life back.

We unfortunately had to go through a very difficult lawsuit where my husband was almost murdered and of course our attorneys had to reach out to this doctor since he was treating him at the time. Dr. Leung called my husband on a SUNDAY and verbally assaulted him saying "I DONT DEAL WITH LAWYERS, WHY ARE THEY CONTACTING ME?!!" MIND YOU- we put in our intake form that we were in litigation, and any doctor that reacts like this always has something to hide and is unethical. It showed immediately. He should not be in medicine, he is a danger to those who he "treats." My jaw dropped as I heard this doctor who had been treating my husband the past year verbally and emotionally assault him. I am beyond sick that he still has his medical license. I pray no one else uses this abusive "doctor" ever!
