Shrimp tacos were good. Could be better if fresh tomato were used instead of canned tomatoes.

Our prime ribeye steak, clams in broth entrees were fantastic. My Wagyu skirt steak was absolutely delicious - tender and flavorful. Sides were just ok for our tastes. Churros dessert was a little overcooked but they did bring out a complimentary chocolate cake to celebrate our birthday. Haden, our server, was patient and knowledgeable of the menu. Really helped us understand the options. He also checked in with us to ensure we were happy! They also have enclosed individual "greenhouses" seating on their patio if that interests you.

We ordered a variety of dishes fish and chips, clams, crusted squash blossom + crab, clam chowder and shrimp scampi. Most of the food was very tasty, and the variety made it a fun meal to share. The fish and chips and squash blossom stood out as favorites. That said, both the clams and the shrimp scampi had a slight metallic flavor, which took away a bit from otherwise good dishes. Everything else was enjoyable, and the overall experience was still solid. Great service, nice ambiance, and mostly delicious food. A strong 4-star experience, and we'd be open to coming back to try other dishes.

The Cajun fries were good quality fries (on the more potato rather than crispy side) but could've used more Cajun. Next time I'd ask for a side of Cajun seasoning or see if they can just put more on. The refresher was light in flavor but actually really good and legitimately refreshing! There might have even been tiny pieces of peach on the bottom, which I liked! For the boil I got a half pound of shrimp (head on) and subbed the potato for a corn and added a second corn. I got the special sauce (basically a combo of all the sauces) mild, but didn't think it tasted spicy at all. To be honest I think the sauce was just okay, a little less flavorful than expected. Maybe next time I would try medium spice level to see if it makes a difference. My bf got a half pound of shrimp (head off), half pound of crawdads, and wanted the blue crab but because it was sold out, he switched to a half pound of snow crab legs, garlic butter (seasoned), mild. He thought the sauce was good but wished it would've soaked into the meat more. Def recommend frequent dipping! Crawdads weren't bad, it was our first time eating them but offered very little meat for the work required. He was pretty disappointed with the crab legs--despite being double the price of the blue crab, almost every leg he cracked open was half hollow and had barely any meat in it. He said it was the first time in his life he's had crab legs like that! Service however was 10/10. She was super attentive, kind, and welcoming. Some of the best service I've ever had! Ambiance is casual, had cute theming similar to most seafood boil spots. Appreciated the bibs, gloves, and wipes! Overall I liked it but would tweak my order. Unfortunately, my bf said he would never go back again, but this was only his second time ever going to a seafood boil restaurant, and he's thinking it just might not be for him lol.

Last night, I brought my team to the downtown Salt Lake City location with one goal in mind: to let them experience "Unreasonable Hospitality" not just hear about it. And once again, The Capital Grille delivered flawlessly. What makes this brand exceptional is its unwavering consistency. Whether I'm dining in Las Vegas on the Strip, Arizona, Michigan, Denver, or Florida, I know exactly what I'm going to get: - Impeccable service - Perfectly executed food (hot food hot, cold food cold--every single time) - An immaculate, elevated dining environment But Salt Lake City? This location is personal. It's special. Before the dinner, I reached out hoping to have my favorite server, Jeana, take care of us. She wasn't scheduled... but what happened next says everything about this team and this brand, she came in on her day off to serve us. And Jeana is simply exceptional. Her service is intuitive, polished, and completely effortless. She reads the table perfectly, anticipating needs before they're ever spoken, pacing the experience seamlessly, and delivering each touchpoint with genuine warmth and confidence. She doesn't just serve a table, she owns the experience, making every guest feel seen, valued, and taken care of at the highest level. That level of care, ownership, and pride is rare. From the moment we walked in, the experience was dialed in: - Hosts Kylie, Maeve, and Jasmine welcomed us with warmth and professionalism - Managers Janie and Aaron were fully present, orchestrating the floor and ensuring every detail was perfect - Every touchpoint--from greeting to dessert--felt intentional, polished, and elevated This wasn't just dinner. It was a masterclass in hospitality. If you're looking for a place that defines consistency, excellence, and what it truly means to care about the guest experience, The Capital Grille is it. And the Salt Lake City location continues to exceed even the highest expectations. Highly, highly recommend.

One big plus is that it is open late!!! Thank you! Thank you! Everyone who goes to events, performances, symphonies, knows it's near impossible to get downtown in traffic just to make these events, let alone have time to eat beforehand. Salt Lake really is limited in choices that are open late, that are not a 21+. I wish more restaurants understood this. A Symphony gets out at 9:30 PM and almost everything closes at 10 PM. It really is difficult. Anyway, the atmosphere was a little loud but it was a fun environment. It's in Hall Pass at the Gateway so of course there's a lot going on in there. We ate outside on the picnic tables where it was quieter and ended up having a really nice time. We enjoyed our evening and appreciated good late night fare. We will definitely go again.

We were both SUPER excited by the menu. I love a lobster roll, and my friend thought the cod Stewart looked really good. While we were ordering, we saw someone else's calamari come out. We both immediately looked at one another as to say "that looked good let's try it," so we added that to the order as well! We also got some drinks and added tartar sauce to the order. HallPass is a food haul, and they have soda machines throughout the business. The Diet Coke brew is good. They text you when the food is ready, and for us, it took about 10-15 minutes. Once we started eating, my friend and I were both a little underwhelmed. The calamari itself wasn't that great, but the friend veggies that came with it were delicious. Not really worth the price point being that the veggies were the star of the calamari dish. My friend thought the cod Stewart was okay. Not bad but just bland. The tartar sauce was good and helpful. As for my lobster roll, it was delicious since it is lobster, bread, and butter, but it wasn't anything special compared to others I've had. The fries were good but not as hot as I would've liked. Overall, this place is good but does feel like you're paying for the location and vibes more than for the quality of the meal. That being said I would probably go back and get the same items.
