Deep Purpl is dog friendly! Hooray! They basically offer smoothies or bowls- all served in cups. You decide to eat with a spoon or straw. Disclaimer: this is one of those businesses where everyone is ordering off Grubhub or door dash so even if you're the only customer in the shop, there will be a wait because they're so busy making Delivery/To Go orders!

After a music festival I need some sort of vitamins before I starve. Me and my SO found Deep Purpl on the corner and decided to try it since we both wanted something fresh. I ordered the açaí bowl, and the man at the register convinced me to get their reusable cup for the deal they had going on at that time. My SO got the mushroom empanada and the garlic sauce. Deliciously savory and warm, fresh meaty mushrooms. The açaí bowl was sweet, cold, refreshing and all the toppings are free with the price of the bowl so you can really load it up here. Would totally recommend if you need a pick me up!

Beautiful 12 oz açaí bowl to go, with almond butter, strawberries, blueberries, and cacao nibs. Yum!

I had a great experience - and a great açaí bowl - at this Deep Purpl location. I've been to the Lincoln Park location, and this one is cleaner and gave me a much better bowl. I actually questioned whether the other one was the same chain because this one was so much nicer. First, big shoutout to the staff member working here around 5 pm on Tuesday 9/20. She was preparing a couple bowls when I arrived but still greeted me and apologized that there would be a little wait while she finished. Nonetheless, she still engaged me to ask if I'd been there before, noting the steps and the toppings, etc. In other words, giving the great, friendly customer service you hope for and often don't get anymore. She took my order of a 12 oz bowl with strawberries, blueberries, almond butter, and cacao nibs and proceeded to build me a beautiful bowl with just the right amount of each. It was delicious and constructed with care so it actually looked pretty, too. It was a little pricey, but I thought the quality of the ingredients was excellent (especially the berries. None of them were shriveled, bruised, etc). I'm definitely coming back here, and I hope she is working when I do because I know I'll have a great experience and delicious bowl. If she's not the manager, I hope whoever is sees this and recognizes what a great job she does!

Açaí bowls are the main thing to get here. Deep Purpl has a few stores around town, so you can get to the most convenient location. It happens to have one in Wicker Park close to the Blue Line station. Basically it's the same menu at each. They also have juices, and there's salads among some of of the other food items. Getting açaí bowls is a healthier alternative to ice cream. It's pretty expensive at a lot of these shops, but here it's not quite as much for this creamy product. They have about the lowest price you can get on an açaí bowl, with a catch though. It's $6.99 for a small bowl. This is the small bowl at this low price. Believe it. This thing is ridiculously tiny. A very good thing about it though is unlimited mix ins and toppings, so you can load it up and not be charged any more for it. They have almond butter, fruit slices, and granola among other things. Add ins are free. It means you can put in as much as you want so load it up. There's no charge for weight.

Great Acai place. They offer smoothies, acai bowls with unlimited toppings, and plant-based empanadas with inspiration from different regions worldwide. Was not disappointed with the acai they had. The acai is a bit more icy or watery rather than creamy but it's delicious.

Eh, I wasn't hugely impressed. I don't like getting a smoothie bowls in a cup, thanks. The place is super clean, but that also gives it a sterile vibe as opposed to a cozy one. Service was fine, but it's the Midwest so people can't handle questions or others with personality. I also don't like my açaí bowl toppings in the middle. I want to dive into the good stuff on top!

Deep Purpl... more like CRACK. This is truly and unequivocally the BEST acai we have had in Chicago. Unlimited toppings- 20 oz doesn't do it for us, give us 40! S drove 1 hour to get Deep Purpl after a full 12 hour day of work. If that doesn't sell it to you, you don't appreciate perfection. This will fulfill a quick lunch break, a post workout refuel, or a dessert. S highly recommends the peanut butter. Z recommends almond butter and honey. The unlimited toppings really takes DP to the next level, keeping the price at a reasonable range. If you appreciate the sweeter things in life, you will make the effort to get to DP. Ambience: 5/10 (grab n go, lowkey musty) Service: 5/10 (Server told customers to leave bc it was too busy) Food: 11/10 Wow factor: Unlimited toppings

Want something quick, healthy-ish and refreshing? This is a great spot while you're wandering Wicker Park. it's a sort of build your own açaí bowl bar. A decent amount of the normal toppings, and they serve it up like the old school frozen yogurt style. I added toasted coconut, granola, cacao nibs, and natural pb to my treat. Due to the pandemic, not much in the way of seating, so I had to take a photo and run. Very tasty, very happy, nice staff!

Yummy açaí bowls! There's a wide selection of toppings, and the best part is that you get unlimited number of choices with your order. It's a bit pricy ($9 for 12oz), but pretty typical for açaí bowls in general. I really liked the almond butter and fresh fruit!

If you love açaí bowls, this is where you want to be. Completely customizable with EVERY topping you could imagine!! I used to go to graze for the best fresh bowls before they all closed, and BOOM I found this place that was even better. You can order line for a while pick up or go inside. Very cute inside with a few dining tables. Please expand to other states like Indiana so I don't have to drive all the way to Chicago for my favorite breakfast

The picture Looks so good, but is too sweet, more guaraná than real açaí I guess...
    Arthuza R.

Looks so good on the pictures, but was too sweet, I asked if they could put granola on side for me but they didn't listen to it. Delivery was fast though. I am Brazilian and I love Açai, but this one is far to taste like Brazilian açaí.

Amazing!! I have got plenty of acai bowls and they are all delicious! I could eat this every day and not get bored. Easy to freeze and eat the next day too!! *Chefs kiss*

If your an açaí bowl lover like myself then Deep Purpl is a must stop. They have make your own açaí bowl. Its aesthetically pleasing inside they have a cute neon sign and plants. I really like that they have unlimited toppings. I mean who doesn't like unlimited toppings?! I sure do. So I loaded mine with all the works. I got the traditional base of açaí, vegan granola, strawberry blueberries, banana, chia, hemp seed, goji berries, and peanut butter. Food Instagram: @vegangirl_chicago

If you are looking for a dining experience that feels like a celebratory event, Chama Gaúcha…read moreBrazilian Steakhouse is a masterclass in the art of churrasco. It manages to strike that rare balance between upscale sophistication and the high-energy "service at the speed of light" that defines a world-class steakhouse. Here is a breakdown of what makes it a magnificent choice. 1. The Meats: A Carnivore's Symphony The star of the show is, without question, the Picanha. This prime cut of top sirloin is seasoned simply with sea salt and roasted to perfection. When the gaúchos carve it tableside, the outer layer is beautifully seared while the center remains incredibly succulent. Diversity of Cuts: From the garlic-heavy Cordeiro (lamb) to the tender Filet Mignon and the smoky Costela (beef ribs) that fall off the bone with the slightest nudge of a fork. The "Green Means Go" System: The service is relentless (in the best way). As long as your card is green side up, a parade of skewers will arrive, ensuring your plate is never empty. 2. The Gourmet Salad Bar Calling it a "salad bar" feels like an understatement. It is an architectural display of fresh, high-end ingredients that could easily stand as a meal on its own. Highlights: Huge wheels of aged cheeses (like Grana Padano), smoked salmon, marinated artichokes, giant grilled asparagus, and traditional Brazilian feijoada (black bean stew). Freshness: Everything is crisp, vibrant, and replenished so frequently it feels like you're the first person to plate a serving. 3. Atmosphere & Service The ambiance is warm, dimly lit, and refined, making it perfect for anything from a high-stakes business dinner to an anniversary. Authentic Hospitality: The staff are knowledgeable and move with a choreographed precision. They don't just serve food; they share the culture of the Rio Grande do Sul. The Sides: Don't overlook the warm pão de queijo (cheese bread) or the caramelized bananas, which serve as the perfect palate cleanser between savory bites. 4. The Final Verdict Chama Gaúcha isn't just a meal; it's an investment in indulgence. You don't go there for a quick bite; you go there to be treated like royalty while exploring the very best of Southern Brazilian grilling. Pro Tip: Save a little room for the Papaya Cream dessert. It's light, refreshing, and topped with a swirl of Crème de Cassis to perfectly round out a heavy meal. 5 star

We went for a charity event where for the price of your ticket you got unlimited apps, fun drinks (nonalcoholic too! like hibiscus!), wine making explanation, participating in grape cutting, dinner, wine, dessert. I was so full by the end! We started with appetizers on the first floor, which was very cozy with couches - very much like a living room. I'm not even sure what the appetizers were but they were really good. There was also hibiscus tea and a lime drink (I can't remember the name). After that, we spent some time in the backyard which honestly didn't even feel like Chicago. It was a warm night, there are fairy lights all over, and the entire place is covered in grape vines! The grapes grown here are used to make their very own Sinha wine! We brought scissors and got to experience the process of wine making. I was worried that there might not be a ton of options for me as a vegetarian but I was so wrong! There were beans without pork, rice, greens, corn, plantains, okra, cheese bread balls, marinated mushrooms, beets, and more! They use in season veggies a lot, and everything was seasoned well. It was a serve yourself buffet and then we sat at long tables, which was a really good opportunity to get to meet new people. This was probably one of the best dining experiences I have had in Chicago. I can't recommend it enough!

I had heard great things about Carnivale prior to so please note that prior reservations were already made but regardless, it was all our first times there and we were stoked to finally try this place out. When we first got there, the outside was very unassuming. Some awesome graffiti on the wall (yes, angel wings included) and lots of color which made me so happy! As we entered, we were greeted by lots of colored flora on the walls and the floor. It led to a beautiful lounge where we checked in. The hostess was quite kind and they escorted us to another room that had multiple floors, two I believe. We were sitting in the main dining area where dining tables were set up and the ceiling lights and decorations were super-duper colorful. It was brightly lit and festive. Seriously, the colors alone could make anyone happy and do a serious dopamine overload which was fine with me. We sat down, was introduced to our server, Oscar and then given menu's. I genuinely thought that this place was pretty small initially because it looked small from the outside but boy was I wrong! This place was MASSIVE. But! I digress, now that we had our menu's-- Let the party begin!! We started with the ceviche tasting which included four types of ceviche; shrimp, Yucatan style hamachi, salmon and tuna. All were really good with their own really distinct flavors but our top favorites were the salmon and the tuna. The salmon had a kick while the tuna had a great balance of heat and sweetness. Great way to start of this dinner! My bestie ordered coconut shrimp and smoked mushroom croquettes for her main meal. My hubs ordered the carne asado while I ordered the lechon asada. I also want to add that we ordered Mexican street corn on the side alongside mashed potatoes and Peruvian Jalea. Ah and before I forget, we also ordered our drinks which consisted of a: sangria, margarita, Cotton Candy Cosmo and Salva Honduran Pilsner. All were spectacular and made the night that more enjoyable as well! When we received our food. We were all really enjoyed it as we all shared our bites amongst one another. The coconut shrimp was well breaded and you tasted the coconut as well. The shrimps were large and juicy. The smoked mushroom croquettes were good with a smokey flavor and good breading, however, the breading may have a been a little thick because you couldn't really taste the mushroom,m unfortunately. The carne asado was the star of the show. Well seasoned steak, cooked medium rare which was juicy and succulent. The lechon asado was good. Although I'm not used to eating lechon asado that is covered in sauce, the sauce was super tasty so I didn't mind the tender, juicy pork that was covered in it. I really enjoyed it. I think the only thing that I wish was different with regards to my lechon asado is that I wish it were hotter because it was luke warm when I received it. Other than that, it was....*chef's kiss*. The Mexican street corn was alright, it honestly just tasted like regular corn with mayonaise in it with some cheese. Didn't add anything significant to the meal. The mashed potatoes were soft but not too soft and buttery. They were really good and then the Purvian Jalea was another favorite, super good! The calamari, fish and shrimp with the Purvian Jalea were absolutely delicious; fresh, tasty and well breaded. It was absolutely yummalicious. To top the night off, they gave me a little birthday treat of cotton candy and carmel popcorn. We also had some tres leches which was so yummy because the fruit was fresh and you could taste the milk in the tender cake and then we had the chocolate cigar. The chocolate cigar was also really good, everything except the label was edible, It was smokey, chocolately and delectable. It's presentation was also so creative. We all loved it. Overall, this restaurant is SUPER PRICY but SUPER WORTH IT. I am so glad that I was able to go there to celebrate a special occasion because it would not be a place that I could go to on a regular basis but as much as I wish I was, ya girl ain't rich like that. The service was superb, the employees were kind, the food was fire and drinks were scrumptious.
