I took some time to really consider whether or not I wanted to write this review. Andrew, the…read moreowner, was very eager and motivated to earn my fiancé's and my business. He initially quoted us $950 for a "deep cleaning" plus carpet cleaning, then later texted and lowered the price to $750. The job was to deep clean a newly purchased home that we were moving into. The house had not been lived in for about 8 months, but it was fairly clean since it had been actively shown. It was not dirty. The entire reason for hiring a deep cleaning service was so I would not have to worry about cleaning ANYTHING before moving in. Andrew arrived with 2-3 other cleaners to clean an almost 2,000 sq ft home and finished in approximately 3-4 hours, including carpet cleaning. In hindsight, that should have been a red flag. During the walkthrough, we pointed out several things that were missed such as dead bugs inside window tracks, dust above cabinets, stair railings and banisters, and cobwebs. Andrew addressed those items on the spot without any issue. However, once we started moving in and unpacking, we quickly realized how much had actually been missed. We were told that a "deep clean" meant EVERYTHING. IT WAS INDEED NOT. The entryway was untouched and full of dust. The master bathroom window and window sills were not cleaned. The master closet shelves were filthy and clearly never wiped down. The storage drawer beneath the stove was disgusting. I used multiple Clorox wipes just to get it clean. Under the bathroom sink was sticky from the previous owner and had not been cleaned at all. None of the tubs even appeared to have been cleaned. My fiancé reached out to Andrew, and he offered to come back two days later. By that point, even more missed areas had surfaced. I ended up cleaning everything myself, which completely defeated the purpose of paying $750 for a deep clean. I couldn't delay unpacking or bathing children just to wait for another visit. My fiancé contacted Andrew again regarding the additional issues, and he issued a partial refund of $250 via Apple Pay. I chose this company because the majority of Yelp reviews were very positive. I did notice some negative reviews but assumed they were outliers. Unfortunately, our experience aligned more with those. This review is not about Andrew personally. He was polite, positive, and had a great attitude. This is about the lack of a true DEEP CLEANING. Overall, I am deeply disappointed that we chose to go with this company.

My experience working with Sterling Carpet Cleaning and Tod Miley, as a marketing contractor was…read moreextremely disappointing. Over the course of my work, I was responsible for website management, social media management, photography, videography, email marketing, content creation, online business profiles, and overall marketing strategy. I invested hundreds of hours creating original content, building systems, improving online visibility, and helping grow the company's digital presence. One of the most significant issues I experienced was repeated late payment. Based on my documented records, payments were frequently delayed despite work being completed and delivered. I personally had to ask Tod to pay me each week, and still experienced delays. These delays created financial hardship and made it difficult to operate as an independent contractor. Consistent and timely payment is a basic expectation in any professional relationship, and that was not my experience nor was it the experience of two other social media managers. While working for Tod, I also personally witnessed ongoing issues involving the management and use of company-owned online platforms and business accounts. While Tod Miley has publicly stated that Sterling Carpet Cleaning is built on integrity and professionalism, my records behind the scenes raised concerns regarding the use of company devices and online resources. During my time with the company, I observed instances in which business search engines and online accounts contained searches unrelated to company operations, including searches for women in the Clovis and Fresno areas. As a result, I, along with a previous social media manager, found ourselves in the uncomfortable position of addressing these issues internally and bringing them to the attention of Christy, the company's HR director. In addition, we were tasked with clearing search histories, resetting algorithms, and attempting to restore business accounts and search platforms to a state that reflected legitimate business use rather than personal browsing activity. These responsibilities fell outside the scope of what I believed a marketing professional should be handling and created concerns about the management and oversight of company resources. With Tod Miley often managing or operating other business ventures in Texas while also overseeing Sterling Carpet Cleaning, it became increasingly difficult to stay aligned on marketing direction, priorities, and expectations. In my opinion, decisions regarding company profiles, marketing assets, and public-facing accounts were often handled in ways that created confusion, inconsistency, and unnecessary disruption to long-term marketing efforts. As the individual responsible for maintaining many of these systems, I frequently had to address problems that could have been avoided with better oversight and communication. Expectations changed without clear direction, projects were interrupted or redirected, or long term planning was often undermined by short term decisions. After speaking with multiple attorneys and carefully considering my options, I ultimately decided not to pursue litigation. While I believe I had legitimate concerns regarding my experience working with Sterling Carpet Cleaning and Tod Miley, I concluded that a lengthy legal battle was not the best use of my time, energy, or resources. Instead, I chose to share my experience publicly so that members of the Clovis community and other professionals considering a business relationship with the company can make informed decisions. My goal is not to engage in ongoing disputes, but to provide an honest account of my personal experience as someone who worked closely with the company behind the scenes. I believe transparency is important. Businesses often promote their values publicly, and I feel it is equally important for contractors, employees, and business partners to be able to share their experiences openly. This review reflects my personal observations, experiences, and opinions based on my time working with the company. The most disappointing aspect was the treatment of creative and marketing work that I personally produced. After investing substantial time, resources, and expertise into building marketing assets and campaigns, I felt my contributions were extremely undervalued and my concerns regarding compensation and ownership were not handled professionally. I cannot speak to the quality of the carpet cleaning services provided to customers, but as someone who worked behind the scenes with the company, my experience as a contractor was frustrating and ultimately negative. This review reflects my personal experience working with Sterling Carpet Cleaning and Tod Miley. Anyone considering a business relationship with the company should ensure all agreements regarding payment, deliverables, ownership rights, account access, and expectations are clearly documented in writing before work begins.
