I found Deeney's at the Regent's Plaza food market that occurs on the first Thursday of each month. They're full on Scottish and they make a selection of toasties with a Scottish flair. The first time I had the sandwich with everything. I can't remember the name, but it was The "something" Macbeth. It has haggis, bacon, cheese, rocket, mustard and onions. On some amazing bread. And it was delicious.
I had another one today. With my good friend Isabel. This time I just got The Macbeth, which is the sandwich above without bacon. Mostly because while I love bacon, it seemed like it wasn't needed with the Haggis. At least for me. And it was also really tasty. Because Haggis is amazing. Thank you Scotland.
And they were totally down on Isabel spending her Scottish pounds. Because Scotland! So that was also fun and exciting. Which led to a conversation with the guy on the grill about Northern Irish money and pound notes. So fun was had all around.
If you want a delicious, cheesy gooey haggis sandwich, hunt down Sweeney's! You can definitely find them at the Regent's Plaza market, and their website has other locations you can find them! Go find them now! read more
