Tajran, Wendy, Hannah, Lucy, the medical team at Sharp Mary Birch, everyone is great!
They all took care of me while I was going through a difficult and high risk pregnancy. It was my first time being pregnant and I had morning sickness throughout the entire time. Wendy was always there to reassure me and tell me stories about her own pregnancies. She was also there to help me when I found out that my pregnancy was high risk and that I would have to be placed on immediate bedrest and then hospitalized at 24 weeks. She helped me access disability for my workplaces (Chula Vista School District and the Corvette Diner) and attain a leave of absence from my school (SDSU). I went from being the busiest girl on earth to living in a hospital and having to press a call button for the smallest things.
However, every day that I was in the hospital, even past delivery, Dr. Tajran checked in on me. She even knitted with me! She always takes the most cautionary measures to make sure you and your child are well. That is her top priority above all else and she will advocate for you. While at the hospital, she told the nurses that I could and should be up ad lib so that I would not have to sit on a bed all day every day. When I was recovering from my C-section, I could hear her advocating for the woman next door. She told the nurses that the woman needs to be able to see her baby ASAP.
I think one thing a lot of people don't realize is that Dr. Tajran is extremely busy. She is always on-call, she checks in with patients at both of her offices/clinics, checks in on each and every high risk pregnant person at Sharp Mary Birch, performs surgeries, helps deliver babies, and checks up on patients postpartum BUT despite all of that, she provides quality care. (Also, my C-section scar is barely visible, it's very low, and because I followed her advice, I recovered extremely fast ~2 weeks.)
Thanks to Dr. Tajran, my baby survived and so did I! He came six weeks early and was 4 pounds 1 oz and needed a bit of help breathing, but other than that he was completely healthy. During the time he was in the NICU, I ran into Hannah who was volunteering to pass out food to families with children at Rady's Children Hospital or in the NICU which was really nice. Out of everyone, Hannah was the most informed and up to date on my care. She made sure that I was going to my NSTs and getting my blood work. If it weren't for her, I might not have known that my pregnancy was so high risk.
Postpartum, Lucy was very helpful in getting me a pump through my insurance so that I could provide for my child while he was in the NICU.
Wendy also tried her best to get me more time at home to bond with my baby postpartum, since he was in the NICU for almost 2 months.
All of this is to say that if you chose Tajran, you are in wonderful hands. I am incredible thankful to her and her staff. I live in Chula Vista and make the drive all the way up to Mira Mesa for quality care and people who advocate for me and my child's needs. read more
