Where do I even start! I started going to Dr. Cobb when he was in Poway and followed him to Escondido. First off, the ladies at the front desk! They are always so welcoming and always makes me feel at home and taken care of, whether it be getting paperwork for my maternity or anything I needed, they were always on top of it! Dr. Cobb's lovely nurses! Always, always brings a smile to my face, they always make me feel comfortable and make sure I'm doing good. Any questions or concerns I have are always addressed. Lastly, Dr. Cobb, the plan was to have a natural birth but ended up having an emergency c-section. He made me feel safe and made sure I knew what was going on every step of the way. You can't even see my incision! If I ever have another child, I will definitely go back to him. All around best experience during my first pregnancy!

I recently had my second baby delivered through Dr. Cobb's team and this review is not only for Dr. Cobb, but also his staff and Dr. Bergh. Buckle up, because this is a long one. First off, I have to address Dr. Cobb's staff. For a good duration of my pregnancy, Palomar Health was down which was just such a party. This meant we had to show up in person to make appointments and couldn't call the office. It also meant paperwork for things like bloodwork was not accessible and overall it was just a huge pain in the ***. But the ladies in the office were wonderful and you could tell they were doing everything they could to keep things running smoothly. They were always so kind when I came in even though I'm sure they were stressed out and likely having to deal with rude patients here and there (even though this mess wasn't their fault). So definitely kudos to them for staying calm because I can't say I would have been, had I been in their place. Dr. Cobb was initially my doctor for this pregnancy. I was going to be having my babies 19 months apart and figured I could try for a VBAC. Dr. Cobb gently advised against it but ultimately gave me a few statistics to consider and still left the decision up to me. I was blown away because I was initially told by the office during my first phone call that he would be unable to perform VBACs. I'm not going to say one way or another if this is a common practice he still is/was offering so be sure to ask on your own. But for me, I was just amazed that he didn't give a hard no, despite it sounding like it wasn't something he was really doing at that time. He was just as understanding as he was during my first pregnancy, sympathizing with my constant complaining of how awful being pregnant is. He was reassuring throughout and even though I was nervous at the idea of delivering at Palomar (because my experience at Pomerado was just so-so), he said not to worry, that this experience would be much different. I didn't believe him but in the end, he was 100% right. I thought a bigger hospital meant more bull but it was a dream in comparison to Pomerado. Now, I know Dr. Cobb puts the OG in OBGYN. But he recently hired on Dr. Bergh who is equally awesome. After Palomar Health was down, I was a walk-in toward the end of my pregnancy. Dr. Cobb was pretty busy that day so his staff asked if I minded seeing Dr. Bergh. I had no idea who they were talking about but wasn't picky, I just wanted to make sure to follow up on my appointments. Dr. Bergh was not who I expected, mostly because I didn't think there could be such a thing as a second Dr. Cobb. He is just as calming and understanding as Dr. Cobb (and, let's not beat around the bush, just as easy on the eyes). Despite that, when he said Dr. Cobb would be unavailable for the c-section date I chose, I had some thinking to do. A few people suggested changing the date and having Dr. Cobb perform the surgery since he did my first one. But I really wanted 7/11 as the birthdate since one of the few pros of having a c-section is picking the date. And I didn't want to give that up since I was already bummed about having to have a second surgery. After doing some research and talking it over with Dr. Bergh, I decided to have him perform the c section. He seemed extremely competent, experienced, and thorough. He was very patient with me, even when I asked repetitive questions, and he always took the time to make sure I understood things. He never made me feel rushed and went out of his way to explain things in detail. He also took extra measures before and during surgery to plan for any worst case scenarios. Being a fairly anxious person, I really appreciated this. Even during my last appointment before surgery, he asked how I was feeling and I said I was getting anxious. Rather than brushing me off and saying it will all be fine, he asked what I was anxious about specifically and did his best to alleviate the fears I had. I won't get into all the details but I didn't exactly have an uncomplicated pregnancy nor did he have an easy time performing surgery. But because he was diligent, I avoided some serious complications. In fact, the additional surgeon he had in the room popped around the curtain afterward to tell me how fortunate I was to have had Dr. Bergh be so careful. And before, during, and after surgery, because of how the team in the OR interacted with me, I felt like a part of the experience rather than a patient just laying there. That was pretty awesome. So ladies, if you aren't able to have Dr. Cobb deliver your baby, don't be afraid to take a chance on Dr. Bergh. Both doctors are incredible and capable, unhurried and understanding. They won't bully you into making certain decisions, they won't talk down to you, and genuinely care about and respect their patients. I can't recommend them and their staff enough and feel so fortunate to have had them deliver my babies.

Love Love Love Dr. Cobb!! He's very kind and always caring. Really listens to you and your concerns. Never blows you off like most OBs. I had my first baby with Dr. Cobb and all I can say is he was truly amazing. Supportive the whole pregnancy and even after. I genuinely love going to his office. The staff is friendly and always welcome you with a smile.

He does NOT take my Blue Shield PPO plan or I'd be giving him a try.

Long story short, I ended up having an excision surgery for Stage IV Endometriosis, and it was so bad that I also ended up needing a bowel resection. For being told multiple times during my visits that my pain was due to ovulation, my fibroids weren't an issue (he had women with 12cm fibroids get pregnant), and that the developing cysts on my ovaries were nothing to be concerned about, it was a genuine shock that my situation was so dire. My doctor that did the excision surgery shared that I had a life expectancy of 5-6 years if I had not been treated. With regard to the office experience, it is a shock that his office does not send out appointment reminders. According to his staff, they are too small. Given that my dog groomer, acupuncturist, and my therapist all manage their own schedules and send automated appointment reminders without issue, that is definitely an area of improvement. Especially when I was charged a $50 no show fee for an appointment that I never scheduled. All in all - they tried. However, when a patient is far too complex they should be referred out to another provider, not told that everything is fine and to move on. If it were his family, I doubt he would have taken the same approach as he did with me.

Disheartening Experience with Dr. Li Fan…read more I don't usually leave reviews for non food experiences, but I felt it was important to share my experience with Dr. Li Fan so that other expectant mothers know what to expect. Throughout my pregnancy, I often felt more judged than supported. Dr. Fan was very strict about weight gain and repeatedly emphasized that gaining more than 25 pounds was "excessive." Every pregnancy is different, and instead of encouragement or tailored advice, I often felt criticized for not fitting her idea of a "textbook" pregnancy. I was also required to complete multiple non-stress tests (NSTs) at a location that did not accept my insurance. When I brought this up, I was told I had no choice but to get the tests done there. It felt unfair and added more unnecessary stress during an already emotional time. My postpartum experience was equally disappointing. At my 6-week checkup, I mentioned that I had been celibate since giving birth and plan to continue without birth control, and Dr. Fan responded, "Men don't like to wait. They have needs." I was at a loss for words, the comment felt dismissive and inappropriate, especially during such a sensitive and vulnerable time. After my delivery (March 2025) , I also waited much longer than expected to be discharged. Dr. Fan didn't come by my hospital room until around 5-6 p.m. the day i was supposed to be discharged, which unnecessarily delayed my discharge and added stress during a time when I just wanted to be home with my baby. While I'm sure Dr. Fan has patients who appreciate her straightforward approach, my experience left me feeling unheard and unsupported. Compassion, understanding, and sensitivity are essential in women's healthcare. Unfortunately, those qualities were missing in my experience with Dr. Li Fan.

This is kind of lengthy and not necessarily negative however, i want to share my experience in…read morehopes it may help someone else who finds themselves in a similar situation. Back in 2022, after struggling with very heavy periods for years, Dr. Fan was able to diagnose me with multiple uterine fibroids. I had surgery shortly after, and the care I received during that process was excellent. Fast forward to 2025--I found out I was unexpectedly pregnant. I was very early, about four weeks along, and had to wait for my first ultrasound. A couple of weeks later, I began bleeding heavily and feared I was miscarrying. I called the office, had blood work done, and was told my HCG levels were high. When I repeated the test two days later, the office relayed through a front desk coordinator that my levels had "dropped" and I was miscarrying. This was incredibly difficult news to hear, and I later saw in my chart that my levels had not dropped significantly. I also feel strongly that sensitive information like this should always come directly from a licensed medical professional, not front office staff. When I returned for an ultrasound to make sure the miscarriage was progressing as expected, I was shocked and overwhelmed to learn that I was still pregnant--about 9 1/2 weeks along. The ultrasound also showed a large subchorionic bleed, though I was reassured that these often resolve on their own. I was prescribed progesterone and began taking it immediately, which initially helped, but when the bleeding worsened again and I asked to be seen urgently, I was told I would need to wait a couple of days for the next available appointment. Unfortunately, I miscarried that night at 10 weeks. I still carry many "what ifs" about whether pushing harder for immediate appointments or additional intervention could have made a difference. This is not meant as a purely negative review, but as encouragement to others: if you are pregnant and experiencing heavy bleeding, advocate strongly for yourself. Request to speak directly with your doctor, insist on being seen, and make sure your concerns are heard. While I remain grateful for the care I received in the past and for Dr. Fan's role in diagnosing and treating my fibroids, I've unfortunately lost a lot of trust during this experience. I am hopeful that by sharing my story, the office may be able to use it as a learning opportunity to improve communication and patient care and possibly help save someone else from experiencing a miscarriage in the future.
