Where should I start... After my early miscarriage last year, I was devastated. I was trying to find an OB who was willing to offer extra care and tests before trying to conceive again. Other OBs did not think it was necessary since I was young and it was "only" my first miscarriage. I was too scared to try again until someone recommended Dr. Cobb. Dr. Cobb respects and truly understands my concerns, and he was willing to take extra steps to ensure my pregnancy was closely monitored. He made me feel that I had a certain level of control over my pregnancy, rather than simply being instructed. During delivery, my baby's heart rate was unstable for five hours, and I was unable to make further progress after reaching eight centimeters dilation. I asked whether it was time for an emergency C section. Dr. Cobb eased my mind and placed additional monitors to carefully track my baby's heart rate. My baby boy was ultimately delivered safely through a vaginal birth. I feel incredibly blessed to have had him as my OB throughout this pregnancy. Dr Cobb was recommended to me when I needed an OB and didn't have one due to my age. I had a spontaneous pregnancy that I was super concerned about due to my age. Where do I even start! I started going to Dr. Cobb when he was in Poway and followed him to Escondido. First off, the ladies at the front desk! They are always so welcoming and always makes me feel at home and taken care of, whether it be getting paperwork for my maternity or anything I needed, they were always on top of it! I recently had my second baby delivered through Dr. Cobb's team and this review is not only for Dr. Cobb, but also his staff and Dr. Bergh. Buckle up, because this is a long one. First off, I have to address Dr. Cobb's staff. For a good duration of my pregnancy, Palomar Health was down which was just such a party. This meant we had to show up in person to make appointments and couldn't call the office. It also meant paperwork for things like bloodwork was not accessible and overall it was just a huge pain in the ***. But the ladies in the office were wonderful and you could tell they were doing everything they could to keep things running smoothly. They were always so kind when I came in even though I'm sure they were stressed out and likely having to deal with rude patients here and there (even though this mess wasn't their fault). So definitely kudos to them for staying calm because I can't say I would have been, had I been in their place. Dr. Cobb was initially my doctor for this pregnancy. I was going to be having my babies 19 months apart and figured I could try for a VBAC. Dr. Cobb gently advised against it but ultimately gave me a few statistics to consider and still left the decision up to me. I was blown away because I was initially told by the office during my first phone call that he would be unable to perform VBACs. I'm not going to say one way or another if this is a common practice he still is/was offering so be sure to ask on your own. But for me, I was just amazed that he didn't give a hard no, despite it sounding like it wasn't something he was really doing at that time. He was just as understanding as he was during my first pregnancy, sympathizing with my constant complaining of how awful being pregnant is. He was reassuring throughout and even though I was nervous at the idea of delivering at Palomar (because my experience at Pomerado was just so-so), he said not to worry, that this experience would be much different. I didn't believe him but in the end, he was 100% right. I thought a bigger hospital meant more bull but it was a dream in comparison to Pomerado. Now, I know Dr. Cobb puts the OG in OBGYN. But he recently hired on Dr. Bergh who is equally awesome. After Palomar Health was down, I was a walk-in toward the end of my pregnancy. Dr. Cobb was pretty busy that day so his staff asked if I minded seeing Dr. Bergh. I had no idea who they were talking about but wasn't picky, I just wanted to make sure to follow up on my appointments. Dr. Bergh was not who I expected, mostly because I didn't think there could be such a thing as a second Dr. Cobb. He is just as calming and understanding as Dr. Cobb (and, let's not beat around the bush, just as easy on the eyes). Despite that, when he said Dr. Cobb would be unavailable for the c-section date I chose, I had some thinking to do. A few people suggested changing the date and having Dr. Cobb perform the surgery since he did my first one. But I really wanted 7/11 as the birthdate since one of the few pros of having a c-section is picking the date. And I didn't want to give that up since I was already bummed about having to have a second surgery. After doing some research and talking it over with Dr. Bergh, I decided to have him perform the c section. He seemed extremely competent, experienced, and thorough. He was very patient with me, even when I asked repetitive questions, and he always took the time to make sure I understood things. He never made me feel rushed and went out of his way to explain things in detail. He also took extra measures before and during surgery to plan for any worst case scenarios. Being a fairly anxious person, I really appreciated this. Even during my last appointment before surgery, he asked how I was feeling and I said I was getting anxious. Rather than brushing me off and saying it will all be fine, he asked what I was anxious about specifically and did his best to alleviate the fears I had. I won't get into all the details but I didn't exactly have an uncomplicated pregnancy nor did he have an easy time performing surgery. But because he was diligent, I avoided some serious complications. In fact, the additional surgeon he had in the room popped around the curtain afterward to tell me how fortunate I was to have had Dr. Bergh be so careful. And before, during, and after surgery, because of how the team in the OR interacted with me, I felt like a part of the experience rather than a patient just laying there. That was pretty awesome. So ladies, if you aren't able to have Dr. Cobb deliver your baby, don't be afraid to take a chance on Dr. Bergh. Both doctors are incredible and capable, unhurried and understanding. They won't bully you into making certain decisions, they won't talk down to you, and genuinely care about and respect their patients. I can't recommend them and their staff enough and feel so fortunate to have had them deliver my babies. read more

I'm not sure if it's just me but this process has been super slow, I am 40 and I really don't have all the time in the world. After being sent to another physician for care, they told me they could conduct the testing there but then when I showed up for the appointment, their machines were broken at Dr. Davis's office. You have to jump through hoops in order to get an appointment for your testing, well at least I did. Then after doing all this stuff, my prescription cannot be filled at the local pharmacy. Now I am waiting on things that are unforeseen, you would think with something so important they would take the time to make sure you have what you need. I am getting my labs from online and working with another facility that actually has time for people. The last call I receive was one of their receptionist calling me to tell me to call the Damon back to go over other options, we have email, can the receptionist help with this... it's totally fine I don't mind going elsewhere when people show who they are. On to the next adventure yeeee! Much happier dealing with others that make you feel like they actually do care. I went down the pages of reviews and it's mainly all fair skinned white women but he has the audacity to use a little black boy as the image to represent for this company but it was obvious that something was off with him and our encounter, which I only had one. Just because someone hires black people doesn't mean they respect them or actually like them. It's almost like that person that says they have black friends but wouldn't be caught dead doing "black things with black people." This is the vibe I get when speaking to him, it's like I'm at an auction and I'm the last person he is worried about helping, which is fine but don't accept patients you can't help/just too busy because you need to deliver babies. Oh but he wanted that consolation check, this is probably how he lures minorities into his little establishment. I recommend reading Sunshine L's review about Dr. Cobb. It's pretty spot on and I just know if I were to get pregnant and try to stay with a doctor that clearly doesn't have time for his patients is a recipe for disaster. I am so glad I've learned to pick up on things like this because the old me would have been like oh well. He wants to be the gatekeeper so bad but hunnnnay that's the Lord Jesus, not a doctor. After reading her review I just knew it would be the same for me, calling to get info but getting no where. He ignored he medical needs after giving birth, most likely because he just felt some type of way about her and others idk. This is for Dr. Cobb's front office/staff. They are unprofessional and rude. Upon arrival, I was told that Dr. Cobb was called into an emergency c-section. That the wait was going to be 30-40 minutes long. I thought, okay, I'll wait a little. But none of his staff apologized on his behalf, which is shocking since this place is raving with 5 star reviews. 40-50 minutes rolled by, I was told that Dr. Cobb is on his way. I was in the patient's room and came out to see is it really true? Is he on his way? We should've just rescheduled. One of the medical assistants, said they don't get to know anything unless Dr. Cobb tells them. Again, no apologies. Only dumping blame on their boss. That same medical assistant had the audacity to come into my patient room two minutes later to lecture me and exclaimed, "That's not necessarily our fault." LOL. Not once did she nor any of the other staff members apologized for my long wait. She also mentioned he informed them at 12:30pm that he was driving to Escondido for the c-section and then she was at lunch so she couldn't call to let me know beforehand. My appointment was at 2pm and I arrived exactly at 1:51pm but their door was locked. I even called their office to reach their voice message saying they were at lunch. So... medical assistants take 1.5 hour or longer lunches here, FYI! It's true. It's not necessarily her fault. Emergency c-sections are scary and usually unplanned. What was bothersome was how the staff could care less about the patient's experience or understand that they do have a professional responsibility for things that go awry at their workplace regardless if it's their fault or not. It's called having bedside manner. Dr. Cobb heard me out when he arrived. He was apologetic, which makes it even harder to write this review. He genuinely cares for his patients. First of all, I'd like to say that Dr. Cobb and his staff are the sweetest people and they will take great care of you. Now, for the details...I had a high risk pregnancy (twins) and I wanted a Doctor who was open minded to the idea of not having a C-section. Dr. Cobb was accommodating and explained everything to me thoroughly. His staff coordinated with the Specialists in Del Mar (twin stuff). Additionally, whenever I had a question or needed something they responded same day. In the end I had no choice but to have a C-section because the babies positions in utero. The birth experience was smooth and virtually painless. Furthermore, my incision is so small, thin, and beautiful. In turned out Dr. Cobb had trained in cosmetic methodologies as well. I'll eventually put a photo of the incision once it's done healing. If you are looking for the perfect OB, then stop what you are doing and call them now. Trust me, they're the best. read more

Dr Cobb delivered my second son Daniel almost 10 years ago. My OB with my first son I had several issues. I decided to go to another gynecologist I knew for my second but we just didn't see eye to eye and he also wanted to induce me 3 weeks before my son actually arrived, later I came to find out he had a vacation planned. My doula again suggested Dr. Cobb at 30 weeks pregnant and I immediately knew he was the doctor for me. He is by far my favorite doctor ever and hands down the best OB and I've had 5 of them. From his bedside manner to his welcoming smile and attentiveness to your needs while still keeping you and the baby safe, he is by far the best OB out there. I would have loved him to have delivered my other children but unfortunately we moved out of state. If I could give him 100 stars I would! I'm writing this review now because my son wanted to know who delivered him (even though he came in just in time to catch him, I got to the hospital a bit late) So I went to pull up a picture of Dr. Cobb and show him and just had to write a review when all the warm fuzzy feels came back. I am a first time mama, and every step of the way, he and his team made me feel comfortable and answered any questions or concerns I had. I originally had a female OB at the beginning of my pregnancy, which was important to me as I wanted my body to be honored. During my pregnancy, I was switched to care with Dr. Cobb. All fears I had of a male OB were alleviated. There were some small hiccups throughout my pregnancy and Dr. Cobb reassured me along the way, and he made sure to take every precaution to make sure me and baby were healthy. Dr. Cobb ensures you have enough information to make decisions that are best for you. He is committed to honoring decisions you make for your body. During delivery, he was my hero! He was willing to deliver my baby in whichever position, and did everything in his care to prevent significant tearing/episiotomy. My first pregnancy was nearly 14 years ago and I had my worries and questions. During the time that I was in Dr. Cobb's care for my pregnancy needs, I was at ease and I felt reassured. I have nothing but good things to say about Dr. Cobb and his staff. I was unhappy with my first choice and heard from three different people he was a wonderful obgyn let me tell you it is the absolute truth. The first time I walked in I came for my appt a day early pregnancy Brain but they took me in anyways and Dr cob answered all my questions and shared his philosophy about birth which right off the bat helped ease my mind. He is a full supporter of letting you birth natrually which is exactly what I wanted. His staff was friendly and supoortive. I had some fears going in because the birth prior to this one was pretty tarumatic Dr. Cobb took the right approach taking precautions but letting me make the decisions giving me the right information to weigh the pros and cons. He never tried to use fear to push me into a decision. He and his staff were very respectful and even when I googled stuff they were happy to answer my concerns and never made me feel ashamed for googling. (Don't google it's always a bad idea) Can I just say this Dr shows up for his births that is a huge deal in this day and age. That was a big factor for me in choosing a provider because he knew what I wanted for my birth. Birth is such and intimate thing and to trust and know your doctor will be there and help you achieve the birth you want Isn't something you can get at any old obgyn office. I felt so much calmer knowing what plan a b and c was for the birth of my baby boy. I'm thankful I had plan A workout just how I had envisioned and that Dr Cobb gave me all the resources to help myself get past my last birth. I could go on and on but who has time to read all that. This is a long overdue review! As we start trying for another baby I've been thinking about how amazing of an OB Dr. Cobb is. After I had suffered the loss of our stillborn daughter (not under his care) I decided to look for another OB to have a different experience with my rainbow baby. I'm so glad I made the switch to see Dr. Cobb, and I had such a great experience at Pomerado Poway Hospital. I was really anxious during my pregnancy and Dr. Cobb went above and beyond to make sure I felt supported, heard and his calm demeanor really helped put me at ease. It was probably the one week out of the entire year of 2019 that he was on vacation when our little boy decided to come 3 weeks early. It was the first time meeting Dr. Islam and she was so great! I was nervous not having Dr. Cobb around but my husband and I both instantly got along with her and felt safe. Dr. Cobb checked in with me upon his return and was always available even postpartum if I had any concerns or questions. It was important to my husband and I that we did everything in our power to have a natural birth free of interventions and Dr Cobb was very patient, supportive and knowledgeable of techniques to make our experience as seamless as possible. My pregnancy went to 41 weeks and he never once pressured me about getting induced. Once I delivered my baby, I really appreciated that Dr Cobb did not rush the remainder of the process. He immediately placed my baby on my chest and let the cord finish pulsating before allowing my husband to cut it a few minutes later. Dr Cobb is a huge advocate for the "golden hour" and allowing immediate family bonding post birth. He let us have time just the 3 of us to connect and did not whisk away my baby to be bathed, measured, etc. All of that can wait and I was so appreciative to have those precious first moments with her. Now thinking back on it, our baby never left our room! Every procedure that needed to be done was done in the room with us. On another note, we live in Carlsbad and the commute to Poway for prenatal appointments was a commitment but I promise you, he is 1000% worth the commute and the investment in time. Dr. Cobb is the absolute best! This was my first pregnancy and my exprience with Palomar Medical Center and Dr. Cobb was amazing. The staff at his office are so great. They were very friendly and helpful. Anything I needed help with was quickly taken care of. Dr. Cobb is amazing. Always made me and my husband feel very comfortable and confident in our pregnancy. I always had a lot of concerns from hearing horror stories from friend and Dr. Cobb always made me feel at ease. He made my pregnancy easy for me. During labor I loved how I was able to reach down and help place my son on my chest. We had a golden two hours where no one interupted us so we were able to truly bond with my son. I really loved my pregnancy thanks to Dr. Cobb. I am now excited for when we are ready for our second child. We will be back to work with Dr. Cobb, his staff, and Palomar Medical Center. read more

Exceptional patient care. Dr. Cobb is absolutely amazing. As a postpartum nurse I have worked with a lot of doctors and as a patient I have been under the care of several OBs...hands down he's THE BEST. He delivered my 3rd baby yesterday. 9lbs, 2oz and delivered naturally like my first 2 little ones, but the story was different. I was in labor much longer and the first 2 births were almost identical (short and fast)...this one was so different and so much longer. He has not only been there for all my questions and every step of the way, but the moment my husband and I met him - we new this guy is pretty awesome. His staff is extremely kind and welcoming. If you are looking for a kind, calm, knowledgeable, trustworthy OB/crew he's the one. I love that he has his own practice and gives you that old school attention you no longer receive these days. Furthermore, it's so hard finding an OB that delivers your baby these days. I love Dr. Cobb and I couldn't have asked for a better OB or an experience. read more
