Dr. Goff has been my ob provider for over 13 years now and delivered 2 of my babies. She is kind, knowledgeable and takes the time to talk to you. Kristin is just as wonderful. Kind and never makes you feel rushed. In the past I too have agreed the reception was a little less than desirable but that issue has seemed to have been resolved. Read reviews carefully. She is great and in high demand. I personally wouldn't give any regard to reviewers who haven't met her or her amazing staff personally. There's a reason why she's so highly sought after. Dr. Goff was on-call the night I delivered our third (and last) kid. My regular doctor was supposed to come in but conveniently hadn't filed instructions (though we discussed it every month). She did a stellar job and i liked her more than my regular doc. My baby came really fast (from no dilation to pushing within like 45 minutes) and Dr. Goff booked over from wherever she was. I told her my concerns and she did her best to accommodate my requests. Now I go see Kristin for my annual visits. She's wonderful. She explains all your options for everything, drawbacks and pluses, and never seems like she's in a hurry to get you out the door. Last year I found a lump in my breast and while it was cleared, she made sure to check it again this year and talk to me about it. read more

I was referred to Dr. Goff by a friend 13 years ago. Over the years I've been very pleased. She is kind, inquisitive, thoughtful and has taken time in to answer all questions. She never acts rushed, even though I know she's very busy. While you're with her, you have her complete attention. Most recently Dr. Goff performed a bilateral salpingo oophorectomy surgery. From the pre consultations, pre op, and post op she was amazing. The surgery was a breeze. She called my home several evenings afterwards to check on me. But with this location couldn't get an appointment for a month in half out for my first prenatal visit, then get to office on day of my appointment, had to buy a mask for lady at front desk to tell me just my appointment was cancelled. Then after the fact she couldn't get me in for another month out. I am 3 month pregnant already! I am finding a new doctor. read more

This review is way past due but the truth needs to be out there. Goff performed surgery and it almost ended my mom's life. After her hysterectomy she was sent home with a high fever, being told she had the flu. My mom had a 103 fever for days but no one listened to her. Finally she went to a different doctor who informed her that she had E. coli. While we will never be sure how she got it the new doctor guessed it was from her colon being cut in surgery or poor catheter insertion. Whatever the reason was it comes down to poor care under Goff. Well, Were do I start. I had a Hysterectomy, way before Yelp. I went to Grossmont Hospital. She made it sound like it wasn't going to be a big thing. I was in the hospital for 2 1/2 days. I had 3 catheters put in me, during that time because I was too swollen to go on my own. The Doctor never called to see how I was when I was in the Hospital. I was sent home with a catheter and told I could remove it at home. I removed it in 2 days. I thought I was fine. For 10 days I couldn't eat anything but crackers,some soup, water, and some Gatorade. Everything else I threw up. I called Marty her nurse 4 times each time she said it was the flu, Because the flu was going around, I asked Marty If I could talk to the Doctor, she said she was busy. I wasn't eating hardly anything. Still throwing up. After 9 or 10 days I when to my Primary Doctor True. He saw me and he knew right away I had e-coli. I had lost 10 pounds and was so week. I took a lot of antibiotics and when I was feeling better. Still no phone call from the Doctor. I went back months later for an apology. She said she did nothing wrong. Now I have been seeing Yvonne Goff for at least 7 years before surgery I trusted her. Also, she didn't tell me she was going to take out my cervix. She said it was routine, but she never told me that. You see without a cervix there is no cushion so when you have sex it is so painful. I don't have any history of cancer in my family at all. So I didn't need my cervix taken out. I have my Hysterectomy because I had fibroid tumors. She said she was going to go in laparoscopically, BUT when I came out of surgery I had an episiotomy like I had a child. Which made sense why I came out of surgery with a catheter and was very swollen. The ONLY reason I didn't take legal action is that I wanted to show my children you only sue when someone consciously meant to hurt you. I hope I made the right decision. When I did hear from her again it was a letter stating she is withdrawing from my medical care. I just wanted to get this out FINALLY. I probably wouldn't have ever had the time to do this but I have extra time because of Covid19. I hope this helps some of you. read more

We moved to SD not too long ago. Got pregnant & was looking for a great OB-GYN. YELP came to our rescue & we are so glad to have found this office. Dr. Goff & Kristin were amazing. I knew I wanted a repeat C section, since the first delivery did not go well & ultimately ended in a C section. Dr. Goff & Kristin were so knowledgeable & made us feel well taken care of. They definitely gave me the best care with my entire pregnancy, delivery, & postpartum follow ups. Staff was also great to work with. read more

Unfortunately my experience with Dr. Goff/ nurse Kristen was not a pleasant one. I would not recommend this office , especially if you are a Flight Attendant and I hate to say this but if you are a minority. Because I'm not originally from San Diego , I took some time to research and choose an OBGYN with amazing reviews . I thought I had found the perfect match when I came across Dr. Goffs practice. My first visit was somewhat unremarkable, yet left me with alot of questions. I wondered why I wasn't givin a pregnancy test and why I hadn't met the doctor. I had told Kristen that I had taken a pregnancy test and assumed that someone would offically verify this. As Kristen and I chatted I mentioned that I was a little nervous about continuing to work as many of my co-workers had experienced miscarriages due to the nature of my job as a flight attendant. Although this information has not been proven through statistics, over my 9 years of flying I have heard an alarming number of my co-workers share a miscarriage story. Kristen dismissed my concern, stating that a female pilot ( who has a completely different job description) attending their office worked into their last trimester. She then asked me if I like my job (?) , then proceeded to hand my a goodie bag with baby information. My next visit would be a sonogram visit to see the baby's heart beat and I have to say all went well. Although i was very nervous to work , I continued to fly until 10 weeks. On my overnight trip to Atlanta, I woke up to massive bleeding. Because I was in a completely different city I started to panic. I called doctor Goff' s office and was instructed to go to the ER in Atalanta, mind you I am all alone in a city I'm not familiar with. Thankfully at the ER they find that the baby is ok. Obviously after this incident I am terrified of going back to work. When I arrive back in San Diego my ultrasound showed I had suffered a hemorrhage that did not affect the baby. Kristen offered to write my a note for light duty at my job. Because there is no position for light duty as a flight attendant I opted to work at the airport . Mind you this is a 40 hour a week 8 hour a day job where you spend all your time on your feet save for 30 minutes of lunch and 2 fifteen minute breaks. As the weeks went by I noticed I was gaining an alarming amount of weight ,almost 10 pounds a week. Because this was my first pregnancy I wasn't sure if this was normal. Because I had started the pregnancy overweight (although I was active and vegetarian) Kristen assumed I needed to cut down on eating ( I was also suffering from extreme nausea and was not over eating). I continued to work and my weight continued to rise. I also started to feel dizzy at work and feet began to swell up to the point it felt like I was walking on glass. When addressing this with Kristen , the feet and the dizziness and how I felt as if I were going to faint, she informed me that I would not fall over and that I should be fine. I was so distraught after this appointment, I knew I couldn't continue to work. I confided in my husband who was furious upon hearing my experiences. He promised to meet me at my next appointment for moral support. Needless to say things did not go we'll and I was asked to find another OBGYN. Being a somewhat reserved person , I was devastated as I was already in my third trimester. I informed my boss ( who had incouraged me to stop working) that I would be starting my leave from work. I requested my medical paperwork from Goffs office as I would be needing it for my new OBGYN. What I found written in the paperwork blew me away. Written in bold there were negative comments including "Does Not Want to Work!". I cried for the afternoon hoping someone would take me on as their patient. Apon finding my new OBGYN she discovered I was anemic ( faint feelings) my sugar was high ( close to gestational diabetes) my normally low blood pressure ( usually 108 -110 range) was extremely high and I had protien in my urine! I was scheduled a c- section and put on bed rest as my baby was huge. This review was long but I felt I needed to say something. Please rethink this office, especially if you are a flight attendant. The reviews on the receptionist are spot on . She is extremely rude. My husband who works as a pipefitter (construction) met me after work for a scheduled sonogram, and as he was asking to use the bathroom he was informed that the bathrooms are for patients and guests only! read more

Dr Hamilton Steele was my doc prior. Upon his retirement I found out that Dr Goff was one of THE best and also that a friend of mine (Dr French) was her partner. In addition, they took Dr Steele's assistant, who is one of the best people ever. I met Dr Goff yesterday and let me tell you...she IS the best. When I have my visit, she takes her time & explains everything. After some tests, she called me herself and went over my options. Dr. Goff delivered both of my children she's an all natural type women and is so knowledgeable and kind . I just found out I'm pregnant again with my third child and called today I'm so excited to get in there again and have Dr G deliver this baby. I was terrified of having an apesiodomy ( however you spell it) and Dr G doesn't do them she stretches you naturally and I love how she had me "Labor down" meaning the baby dose all the work all I had to do was push 2x with both of my kids and they were out! Easiest proses ever . Called to speak to them today to book an appointment and the receptionist was nice and helpful and listened to my concerns because I'm higher risk for ectopic pregnancy I really don't think there is a better doctor in SD !! read more

I am approximately 20 weeks pregnant and was considering transferring care to Dr. Goff until I called and spoke with Theresa, the receptionist. Apparently Dr. Goff does not do consultation appointments and her first available appointment is a month out. Sad to say I have to agree with Jeska, the receptionist very rude and unprofessional and would not even let me speak or leave a message with the doctor. I'm not even sure on where to begin. Dr. Goff , Kristin her NP, Angela the MA, just everyone.... is so great here. I was referred by two friends to Doctor Goff. The prenatal care i received was wonderful. at 13W1D i had some pretty heavy bleeding that of course scared me. I called her office (it was after hours), the call service put me in touch with an on call OB, he was very cold... even asked me if i was sure i was pregnant, and then asked my blood type in case I began hemorrhaging and needed to go into the ER, he did nothing to ease my mind, in my mind I was almost certain I was losing the baby, but working in a hospital myself I knew that being in a ER wait room during flu season was more dangerous and if I was losing the baby there was nothing they could do to stop it, so I stayed home in bed and waited till I could go to Dr. Goff's. The very next morning I was anxiously awaiting 9am to call the office to get seen, they actually called me before they opened, it was nice to know they cared so much. They got me in and did an ultrasound that showed my baby was perfectly healthy and content, I just had placenta prevera (spelling?). Dr. Goff and Kristen were very good at keeping up with it and checking on me during my visits. At 37 weeks my son decided to do a giant summersault and go breech... I was so devastated that I was going to have to have a C-Section but doctor Goff really eased my mind and made it fun. Her and Kristin placed bets on what his weight was going to be and because I couldn't make up my mind and pick what day he was going to be born on Dr. Goff tossed out 05/05/2014, cinco de mayo which I didn't even consider as an option that week... we went with it and I was scheduled for a C-section with a check in time of 9am on 05/05/2014. Funny thing is, at 8:55am, walking in the parking garage elevator to go check in my water broke. So Dr. Goff just knew that was supposed to be his day ;). My C-section was wonderful and though I had been scared, she made it a pleasant experience. My son was born and weighed 9lbs 4oz which was Dr. Goff's bet exactly haha, I even had to ask her if she rigged the OR scale so she'd win. During my stay at the hospital she checked in with me each morning and was warm and friendly and always had time to listen to any concerns. My scar has since heeled beautifully, and my well checkups in her office with Kristin were great. Fast Forward to 5 months later, I was down in the cafeteria getting coffee ( I work in the main hospital near the women's Center) and Dr. Goff was down there grabbing some breakfast, not only didn't she say hi to me first but she remembered not just me, but my husband, and my son. I cannot say enough great things about her and her office. I know some people on here didn't care for her receptionist, but in all honesty she is kind, gets the job done, and always follows up and takes care of things. I personally would rather have that then sunshine and lollipops. read more

I heard that Dr Goff was amazing, I tried calling to set up a time to see her. First available appt was in July (4 months away!). I had a situation that needed to been seen prior to that, as I explained this to the receptionist she became increasingly rude on the phone. I was trying to see if she could suggest another doctor to me or lead me in another direction where I could find another doctor. She repeated the same thing that their first available was in July in a very rude and condescending tone. I wasn't asking for an appointment, I was simply wondering if she could she could advise on where to go next. She was no help and frankly one of the rudest people I have encountered at a Dr office. I understand it's not her job to find me another doctor, but in her position I'm sure she has encountered this in the past and she should have a "go-to" recommendation for people like me or at the very least, be polite. I ended up finding another doctor on my own that could see me in 2 days! I felt compelled to write this review because I dont believe this person should work in a customer service job. The other doctor is far away and I had intended on going back to Dr Goff, but after this encounter I will happily drive to the other doctor. read more

I'm sure Dr Goff is a wonderful doctor. I am new to town and she came highly recommended to me by a friend. I found a walnut sized lump in my breast over the weekend and I called to schedule an appointment so I can get a referral for a mammogram. They couldn't get me in for 6 weeks (no exceptions)! I understand that busy offices take time to squeeze in a new patient but they should always be able to accommodate a situation such as this. Finding lump in your breast is a VERY scary experience and the last thing you need to hear is a cold receptionist telling you to find another doctor because they simply don't have the time. I found another doctor that has a waiting list for new patients but they are able to get me in tomorrow due to the situation! Imagine that! read more

As a labor and delivery, OR/PACU nurse (for the last 17 years) I've been exposed to countless OB GYNs. At this point in my career, I've seen pretty much everything . Who do I see for my own care? Dr. Goff. Who do I take my only daughter to? Absolutely, Dr. Goff. Time and time again, I have seen her do beautiful natural deliveries, fantastic vaginal deliveries and skilled cesarean sections. Quite honestly, any bad review "stories" on here have a million holes in them. Dr. Goff and Kristen are hands down the best obgyn team that exists in San Diego. They have a very calming bed side manner, social skills, and reassurance that you will find in this side of the states. They will always take time to ask you about your questions you may have and you will never feel rushed. I had a fabulous pregnancy and I know that a good percentage of it resulted from their care. From the other posts I am reading I absolutely agree that the secretary is a little cold however near the end of my pregnancy and my follow up appointment she really warmed up. Not sure what it was about but if you an look past the secretary for a few visits she will start to loosen up and show a kinder side and it was worth taking the secretary's grumpy attitude to have Dr. goff deliver our daughter. I am currently 13 weeks and will be switching providers. This past week, Dr Goff "fired" herself. This was my second visit in the office and each time was negative. First off, the receptionists talk about other patients negatively even with people in the waiting room...loudly enough that I could explain the entire situation. When I was taken back to the room, it was assumed I knew where the restroom was and what the procedure was. By the way, the office is very old and outdated and you can hear the doctors talk about other patients and listen to all their phone calls as you wait. Once I figured out what was expected, the Dr came in and told me I needed blood drawn (to be expected medically) and that I needed an ultrasound right away since I was already 8 weeks (also to be expected). After the visit, I went to my local lab on Coronado and waited 30 minutes only to find out the actual tests ordered were not the typical draw ups. I have a high high sensitivity to needles so when the tech pulled out 12 tubes to be drawn, I quickly said that wasn't going to work for me and I asked what tests were being done. Come to find out, the Dr had ordered several "abnormality tests" without my knowledge. I did not sign the papers to have that done. I told the tech to call Dr Goff and find out which tests were crucial to be drawn and what was considered normal. She picked the Chromosome abnormality test right then and there! Not my RH factor, not my blood type, not anything relating to my health! I then visited Dr Goff again this past week, and told her I needed her to pick bare minimum testing. This is not my first rodeo (3rd kid) and please respect my "hands off" approach to medicine. She then told me that I should listen to whatever she says and if she says it, it should go. She also told me that she was no longer going to be my doctor because if something were to happen and i refused service (which up to that point i had only asked questions) then she would not want to be my doctor! She has no respect for patient input, and she had no idea about me, had only seen me once before, and immediately had her own medical decisions made that were not even on my radar! Because I can't write every little detail, just be aware that this doctor is only for those that are ok with the doctor making all the decisions without your input. read more

Dr. Goff is the absolute best OB-GYN doctor. She delivered my second child. I am a very anxious person, and she was so sweet and calming from day #1. She always put in extra time to answer any questions that I had. She felt not only like a doctor, but a friend. I had a different doctor for my first son, and it was a completely different experience. While that first doctor seemed to never remember anything about me at each appointment (shocking, considering I had gestational diabetes and needed to take insulin), Dr. Goff always remembered all of the details of my case at each appointment. She was so calming throughout my pregnancy and also during my C-section. She even followed up to see how I was doing after, and she checked on me in the hospital the following days (my first doctor did not do this). I could not have picked a better doctor than Dr. Goff. I was very overwhelmed when choosing an OB for the first time upon finding out I was pregnant last year. I did hours of research and settled on Dr. Goff because I "had a feeling" that she was the right doctor for me, and I couldn't be happier with my choice. We discovered, at about 10 weeks, that we had lost our baby. I know it isnt' easy to deliver information like that, but I felt like they had taken my loss personally, I didn't feel like I was just another patient. Dr. Goff performed a D&C a few days later and my recovery was fast and easy. She and Kristen even called me a few times over the following days to see how I was feeling. Now, I am 21w5d into my second pregnancy and I feel like they went above and beyond during my first trimester to make sure that my husband and I were comfortable with the health and safety of our baby. When we had complications, Dr. Goff and Kristen spent extra time with us to make sure everything was ok, even did an extra "quick peek" ultrasound (at no charge) to make sure that our little one was still doing well. I can say, with no amount of uncertainty, that I am more than satisfied with Dr. Goff. Now a couple little hang ups, sometimes the wait is a bit long but I think that's normal with most doctors. Also, the receptionist is a bit cold until she has seen you a few times. But once she knows your face she warms up and is quite pleasant to deal with. read more

I am not one that usually shares my reviews, however, I feel that women need to hear my experience before making the choice to see this doctor. I saw Kristin at this office about 1.5 years ago, I guess Dr. Goff never had the time to see me. I initially started going to Dr. Goff's office to seek fertility answers because I was not getting pregnant. I found out that it was unlikely that I would. A few months after finding this news out, I made an appointment because I thought I had fybroids, I had all of the symptoms. Kristin "examined" me by pushing on my lower abdominal area and said no you do not have fybroids. When I asked her about a sonogram, she said it was a waste of time and made suggestions that I was looking for reasons as to why I was not getting pregnant. I left that office quite upset and did not see another doctor again until recently. When I had my first appointment with Dr. Brown and told her my symptoms, she immediately suggested a sonogram and guess what they found??? Fybroids. I think that Kristin was very unprofessional, rude and careless with her professional experience. I learned to never second guess myself again. I know I can't have children, but I am entitled to proper health care, which I am receiving at Dr. Brown's Office:) read more
