Insane flavor, best eaten right when they drop it off to your table. So much flavor but so light at the same time. Calamari is a huge portion & delicious. Porchetta was crisped to perfection, potatoes were seasoned & cooked perfectly. Cacio y pepe was yum, the pasta was cooked a little over al dente and the server let us know that beforehand. Still was delicious! The focaccia they provide was great as well. I was never a tiramisu person until last night. The cream was so light and delicious, the cold soaked biscuit inside was soooo gooooddddd!!!!! Definitely a must try. The cheesecake was nice too but a bit more of a savory dessert. Food: 5/5 we started with the complimentary foccacia which was delicious and ordered the burrata with prosciutto as an appetizer. I've never seen it presented like this, it was served with croutons, tomatoes, cucumbers, and the burrata was refreshing & had great flavor. Three in our group ordered the rigatoni with pink sauce & crispy porchetta (I think) on top. I had the truffle ravioli & the flavor was delicious! The drinks were also fantastic, I had the lychee spritz. The flavor was refreshing and sweet! Service: 5/5 our server was fantastic, I wish I caught his name. I had read multiple great reviews about this spot, a walk outside of the popular Gaslamp restaurants so I made a quick reservation, super excited to taste some delicious Italian dishes. To start. The docs is beautiful. The service is extremely attentive and I not once had to request anything. Now for the food, it was all okay. We had a couple different dishes at the table for everyone to taste and they were all okay. The one dish that I think was most memorable and would recommend is the Rigatoni alla Boscaiola. My partner and I had dinner at Dècoré last night and enjoyed a relaxed evening sampling a few dishes. Shortly after being seated, we were brought complimentary bread, which was a nice touch. We apparently went through it pretty quickly because the staff kindly brought out a couple more pieces without us even needing to ask. We started with the Panzanella e Burratine, which included burrata, tomatoes, cucumbers, pickled onions, and croutons. It was fresh and nicely balanced, with the creamy burrata bringing everything together for a great opening dish. Next we tried the Pizza Mantovana topped with guanciale, puréed butternut squash, goat cheese, and mozzarella. While it was well prepared, it ended up being our least favorite dish of the evening. The butternut squash gives the pizza a noticeable sweetness that felt a bit unusual for us. It may appeal to diners who enjoy sweeter flavor combinations, but those looking for a more traditional pizza might want to consider another option. The standout for us was the Lasagna Bolognese, which was a special that evening. It was hearty, rich, and full of flavor with generous layers of pasta, meat sauce, and cheese. A classic comfort dish done very well. Service was outstanding throughout the meal. We were primarily served by Diego, with occasional help from Gio, and both were attentive and welcoming. I had such a great time here. The service is spectacular and they truly make sure you're well taken care of. On this second visit we sat at the bar and still received excellent service. The food was fantastic. I had the spaghetti cacio e pepe and it was so good. I did wish I had a spoon for the sauce, but they completely elevated the experience by bringing out focaccia bread so we could clean our plates. Such a thoughtful touch. The ambiance is great, perfect for a casual date night. They make you feel welcome and provide exactly the level of service you want. We will definitely be back more often. read more

We visited this quaint little restaurant last night for our anniversary dinner and it was lovely. The service was very attentive and friendly with a family kind of feel. So welcoming and warm. We were able to pace our dinner nicely so we could enjoy the experience with some good Italian wine. The wine menu is quite different to what you see elsewhere but in a good way and one of the owners knows a lot about Italian wine and was able to give us some great recommendations. Fresh baked focaccia was offered to start that was complimentary and delicious! We followed with the Caesar salad which was split for us and my husband had the Ox Tail Ragu pasta which he loved and I had the sea bass special with a very generous serving of risotto that was also amazing, but I could not eat it all as I had to save room for our yummy Basque cheesecake dessert. Sooo I was looking for a great Italian spot to grab takeout for dinner and came across this restaurant. After seeing a third review mentioning they had the best pasta they ever had, I had to try. Could it really be? Maybe it was great pasta but they were starving lol. WELL I come before you to attest this is indeed the best pasta I ever had . I mean orgasmic. This oxtail pasta was made with LOVE. Omg. Great portion, decent amount of oxtail (which is a big deal, being Caribbean I am used to eating oxtail and it's notoriously skimped on at restaurants because it's expensive). The sauce was perfect, pasta was perfect, I literally have no notes! I emoted with every bite. If I was dining in I would demand to personally thank the chef. The rustic bread with spreads yummy as well, I particularly loved the truffle spread--wish I had a bottle of it! The buttered focaccia that the pasta came with were pppperfect for dipping in the pasta sauce. So so delicious. If you're looking for Italian cuisine, this is your spot! read more

Upon entering, we were warmly greeted and after checking their reservations list, seated. We opted for still water as opposed to sparkling. Looking at the menu, I so wanted to try the calamari. But unfortunately, didn't think we would be able to finish our entrees (the goal). So the hubby got the rigitoni with sausage and mushrooms. I got the linguine bolognese. Our waiter brought out some focaccia which was so pillowy soft and delicious. The entrees came out really fast! Both were delicious. We ate every drop. Then, we had to try the cheesecake. We just returned from a trip from Italy where we had some pretty spectacular meals.  After our meal today I asked my sister about the lasagna she had ordered (lasagna obsessed, I ordered lasagna four times on our trip -lol) and I asked her is the lasagna better than what we had in Italy and she said "yes!" Yep - I had very high expectations of this restaurant from reading the Yelp reviews, I was not only NOT disappointed, my unrealistic expectations were exceeded.  They got it down!  Classy, warm setting. Easy street parking. Another reviewer said that the calamari fritti (a typical order for us) was the best he'd ever had - and with that endorsement, I went into the restaurant knowing that would be one thing I would order.  Yes, the calamari was that good.  Light, perfectly crispy... my boyfriend commented on the wonderful sauce - a spicy Calabrian chile aioli.  It was perfect.  We also loved the brussels sprouts al Pecorino, seasoned with pecorino cheese, black pepper and lemon juice.  Wonderful.  My boyfriend generally doesn't like vegetables but I noticed he had seconds and thirds of this delicious appetizer. My mom and I ordered the oxtail pasta (one reviewer said he normally would not get oxtail, but after trying would get it over and over again), and oh my, I loved it.  Savory, meaty... the pasta a shape that I was unfamiliar with (similar to a spaghetti, but thicker) was perfectly cooked. (All the pasta is freshly made apparently) I asked if they had a chili olive oil that I had in Italy - Yeah- they have it here too! I added a bit of it to my pasta. Heavenly! I asked my boyfriend at the end of the meal what he rated as his favorite dish. While it was super close, my boyfriend said he may have liked the mushroom ravioli with a crème and truffle sauce as the best dish of the evening.  Note, we are suckers for truffle having gone to great lengths to find a place to buy truffles in Italy.... It has a lovely cream sauce...would love to use bread for the extra sauce...   The service is perfect.  Friendly, charming, kind, knowledgeable. Mind readers. They were booked for the evening (Yes, try to get a reservation!), yet squeezed us in (could we have our meal within an hour and a half?), yet we were not rushed at all.    GIORGIO had been the one that had squeezed us in, though they were full, and served us. He was so amazing, helpful, charming, I made sure I got his name because When we come back I wanted to ask that he serve us. Later I realized oh, Giorgio is an owner lol, I should have picked up on that by his comment about our orders that we must have done some reading because we were ordering the most popular dishes lol .... After trying to order most of the recommended dishes in Yelp, we were super, super stuffed! Large refreshing spritzers with fresh herbs (I got the Bordo Piscina with leche and mint; the table's favorite) four appetizers and a main course - and really we should have taken more food home than we did.  Yet, when amazing GIORGIO asked us whether we wanted dessert, a question that was met with a groan, and a "sorry we just can't ", he KNEW.  He came back to the table not with the check, but with a perfect tiramisu.  And 4 spoons.  My boyfriend is Italian, it is his favorite dessert, and he loved it. We all did.  It was like a feeding frenzy lol.  GIORGIO came back a few minutes later and it was gone lol.    As I was again reviewing the 5 star reviews to verify I remembered Giorgio's name correctly (I was sure others had raved about him, that's when I learned he was a coowner ) I was also shocked to learn the restaurant is so new.  One Yelp reviewer said he has gone many times. And we were there we heard Giorgio greet another customer as if they were beloved regulars .... It seems like the restaurant opened only 4-5 months ago! They got this down! I would come back tomorrow too if I can figure out how to prolong this trip; sadly we live in Los Angeles.  Wishing this restaurant all the best.  "Decore" means with love in Rome Italian. And the tiramisu... genuinely the best I've ever had, and I don't throw that around lightly. Service was attentive without ever hovering, and the owner himself came by to check in. Not even in Little Italy (a hidden gem downtown), but I genuinely enjoyed everything about our dining experience here and will most certainly be back! It is a small place, so recommendations are recommended. There is a small bar and maybe five tables inside and five tables outside on their small sidewalk patio. The decor is modern and trendy. I loved the gold and turquoise color scheme as well. Service: Our server was fantastic. I asked for recommendations and he described almost everything on the menu in great detail. He was friendly and attentive, but not pushy. In fact, he said that they do not try to rush you and only take one set of reservations for the evening. He even offered to rinse off my son's silicone plate I brought with us when he was finished. Drinks: I ordered a spritz cocktail (Hugo) that was large and hit the spot on a hot, summer day. Food: We started with the fried calamari, which I thought could be the best calamari I have had. It was light, favorable and tender. It wasn't tough or chewy at all! The dipping sauce it came with was also different, but tasty. They offered complimentary foccacia bread, which was good, but I did have to ask for it. For entrees, I ordered the Rigatoni alla boscaiola and my husband got the lasagna. Both were superb! Pasta was perfectly al dente, with the right amount of flavorful sauce, mushrooms and sausage. The lasagna was really delicious as well. After being wow'd so far by the food, I had to try dessert - cannolis. It came with two large cannoli that were really good! This place was phenomenal. We wanted some place to celebrate our anniversary and Decore was the right spot. From the friendly staff, ambiance, and amazing food, we already cannot wait to go back. We had 2 huge spritz drinks which already are a bang for your buck at $13. The appetizers were fresh and delicious. I order the special of the day which was rha lasagna and my partner ordered the oxtail, both were incredible. You can taste that the pasta was made fresh. The food here is amazing!! I keep going back for the Pizza Margherita, and they've been very accommodating for my partner who has celiac disease. We've loved everything we've ordered so far here - different appetizers, pastas, and pizza... and wine! I really enjoy the intimate setting of the place, but both times I've been there I've seen they also have space in the room separate from the bar area for accommodating large groups (I'm sure with reservations), which is something I'm keeping in mind for the future. DeCore Classic Italian Restaurant in East Village has debuted in the corner suite that housed a longtime cafe before closing in 2018. Two hot chicken businesses then tried their luck without success in that space. The interior has been significantly upgraded with dark green tones to reflect a more upscale ambiance. I sat at the bar in the main dining area while a back room could hold another dozen or so diners. Homemade Italian fare was offered in the form of stuzzichi (appetizers), sides, pasta, greens, meats, and pizza. While I was deciding what to order, a dish of complimentary focaccia was provided. There were three pieces. I ate two of them before saving the last one as a leftover. My dinner choices were the Suppli and the Rigatoni alla Boscaiola. The first was an appetizer consisting of two fried rice croquettes filled with smoked mozzarella and tomato sauce. They were cylindrical in shape instead of a prototypical sphere like arancini. The crust was extra crispy with a gooey interior from the melted cheese. The other item was a pasta entrée made up of tube-shaped noodles sautéed with Italian sausage and mushrooms in pink sauce. The pieces of sausage were small but flavorful. The sauce was okay, however I would have preferred a simple pomodoro. The service from the bartender was polite and prompt. The appetizer arrived from the kitchen fairly quickly. On the other hand, the pasta took a bit longer than expected to be ready. Pricewise, the charges were fair for the amount and quality of food that I tried. My dining experience at DeCore was between a four and five star level. read more

My wife suggested this DECORE restaurant for us to try and im glad she insisted because we had a great dinner there. We arrived around 5 p.m. Since we had a Handicap placard, it was easy for us to park in front of their restaurant. The 2 gentlemen by the bar greeted us right away, and we got seated quickly. We had Calamari Fritti , Porchetta Bruschetta , Oxtail Strozzapeti , Porchetta eh Patate , Brava Guava Cocktail , Tiramisu The complimentary bread and our order of Calamari Fritti & Porchetta Bruschetta as our appetizers came out fast, at the first bite of their Calamari I already liked this restaurant, their Calamari was season well and so Crispy, every piece I picked up was so crispy good. Then my wife on her first bite of the Porchetta that was on Toasted bread, her eyes got big, and says that it was the Porchetta she used to eat when she was studying in Italy. So we had 2 Porchetta in our order, but both have a completely different taste and are both delicious, so dont hesitate to order Porchetta from their Appetizer and Porchetta again in their Main course. My Pasta was great, a big portion with a delicious sauce. I don't know about my wife's cocktail but I heard her complimenting the Barista for her drink. We also had Tiramisu, and i never saw my wife before interested in any dessert, she usually tasted them and just gave the rest to me, but with the Tiramisu here she seemed she didn't want to share it with me, that's how good the Tiramisu here. Giovanni and Giorgio, the owners, both very friendly, their Italian accents and talking to each other in Italian give this place an extra feeling of being in Italy. The order was ready in 10 minutes, which was just a bit concerning. A little fast for a restaurant during the dinner rush. I was greeted warmly by the staff when I walked in and immediately given my pickup order. The order came with complementary tomato grilled bread, which was a nice touch. The broccolini was very well seasoned and marinated, but a tad undercooked. The cacio e pepe tasted more like béchamel pasta, which I am not a huge fan of. Cacio e pepe has a different flavor with a strong prominence to the fresh black pepper. I would be open to trying this place one more time when I have a chance to eat at the restaurant but I'd likely order something else. The restaurant itself is quite small, meaning it looked quite cramped and was a little noisy even with a few full tables. I tried this Italian restaurant with my husband on the second week of their opening. It's a little place, but it's so Cute inside, it has a nice vibe and very welcoming staff. We got the menu and there were a lot of great options to choose from. Here are my picks: *CALAMARI *PORCHETTA BRUSCHETTA *OXTAIL STROZZAPRETTI *PORCHETTA and PATATA *BRAVA GUAVA COCKTAIL My BRAVA GUAVA cocktail was amazing, very smooth and refreshing. The complimentary bread was warm and fresh and had good Olive oil. The CALAMARI here is a must get, it's crispy and tasty. With all of the Calamari I've had around, the Calamari here is one of the top ones for me compared to other places. For our main dish my husband got the OXTAIL STROZZAPRETI , it has a great portion size and it was delicious with the Braised Oxtail. Mine was the PORCHETTA and PATATA . I love Pork, so if I see pork on the Menu there's no way I won't order it. So I got 2 yummy Porchettas with a side of Potatoes. The Pork dish I ordered look simple, but when I took a bite of it I felt like I was back in Italy again during my College days, it's exactly like the Porchetta that I used to eat in Italy, but in Italy I eat them with the Panini, but wow I love their Porchetta here. The Crispy Skin and the tender pork are both very tasty, I can taste the good seasonings they used on this Porchetta a lot, as I said it feels like I'm back in Italy again in my College years there. Delicious food with Excellent service from the 2 owners who were present there and doing all the work like managing the Bar and taking and serving the orders. We got the parking exactly in the front of the restaurant, but I do not know if during rush hours their side streets parkings will be packed or not. But for sure there's a Vallet parking somewhere, we just didn't look around much 'coz we got a perfect parking spot. read more

Pizza was just okay, didn't have much flavor and was pretty soggy, but it was Roman style so that might've affected it. Ciabatta bread was just confusing and the sides it was served with wasn't great either. Service was decent but I'd say for the price and tastes restaurant wasn't worth it. It's a new restaurant so getting a table was easy on a Friday night but this place is bound to blow up soon. Excellent service and amazing food. My personal favorite was the oxtail pasta- highly recommend. The prices are super reasonable and it's owned/founded/served by Italians. Real authentic feel and I wish nothing but the greatest success for this establishment. read more

This is a lovely new restaurant... we stumbled on it a few blocks from our hotel while we were visiting. The interior was serving very a sort of Italian/French bistro vibe... there were not a lot of tables available so we sat at the bar which was a bit weird because the chairs were not high enough for the bar. Aside from that, this little restaurant was very busy on a Thursday night before Independence Day, it seemed like only two people were working service and the bar. We got the braised chicken leg and the Spaghettoni Cacio & Pepe, both of which were fantastic, along with some Calamari and Focaccia to start. Everything was *chef's kiss* delicious. I'm not sure I can put into words how fabulous this place is. We eat all over town and everything we touched was fantastic. The calamari starter, salad with watermelon, oxtail pasta, wild mushroom ravioli and tiramisu all excellent & made in house. SERVICE exceptional and they have wines by the glass & bottle that are unique and add to the experience.
