I had stuck them in a many time over recycled old frame/mat. He and I discussed his history, and I asked numerous questions about some of the framed pieces in his store. We laughed with some stories. You can tell this is a man that takes pride in his work. The back of my photos were professionally finished with brown paper, his stamp and clear pads on the bottom to keep the framed pieces parallel to the wall. This shop is under new ownership and isn't as good anymore. I have had many items framed there…read moreover the years but my most recent experience with the new owners was not too great. 1. I took a large print to be rematted. The new owner tried to sell me everything he had, such as a new frame (because this one has a scratch), new glass (because this one glares), triple matting (which I went for). I just felt like I was the subject of too much selling. It wasn't pleasant. 2. I requested to have the print delivered and hung. The owner said he knew a company who could do that and we agreed on a specific date. On the morning of that date, I called to find out when the person would be coming. The owner: "Oh, I was going to call you. That company doesn't return phone calls." I wonder if he really was planning to call me because in the two week period between order and delivery date, he never did. Needless to say, the picture didn't get delivered or hung that day. The owner did set me up with another company who delivered it, hung it and did a fine job. But I think I will find a new frame shop.

Staff is friendly and knows a good deal of things no matter the project I'm almost certain they have it and have someone if you are learning that'll guide you for what you need to be successful in your project. Some things are little pricey compared to online stores but that is just the norm. Stores beyond super neat and clean no pushy staff for sales.

The Art supplies business seems like a difficult one to be in. But Blick's quality and wide selection, makes them hard to beat. They run sales occasionally, which depending upon our timeing, can be a decent opportunity to get things at a reasonable price. Service here was friendly and knowledgeable. Today, we came away down forty bucks or so. Probably the cheapest we've spent in a long time. LOL. But if you are into paint supplies, paper, oils and watercolors, they're the only game in town.
