This location is pretty similar to the one on Edgewater Dr. (that's the one I go to the most since it's within walking distance of my house), though perhaps I favor the one closer to me not because of the convenience but because of the selection. I'd guess about 85-90% of everything I've bought from this chain has been purchased at the Edgewater Dr. location simply because it seems to have a better selection. I did see a lot of stuff I wanted at the Colonial Dr. location when I stopped in today, though, but since I eat too much I couldn't fit into a few shirts. (Ugh. I need to go on a diet. Damn you, food trucks!) The Colonial Dr. Dechoes has a nice selection and the prices are just as they are at the Edgewater Dr. store, though it's just my opinion that the latter has a better selection, at least as far as stuff for men goes. The staff at the Colonial Dr. store is very friendly. I purchased only one t-shirt here today and it came to a little more than $5 after tax. She let me take a few flyers for Wally's that advertise you can get one free drink/day with the flyer, so I took a couple. I thought she might've only let me take one, but I took 2. There only were 3, so I left the last one for whoever's lucky enough to spot it on the counter ... and also brave enough to go to Wally's! Anyway, back to my review of Dechoes - yes, I recommend going here and checking out the inventory. You're likely to find at least a few items of interest either at this location or at the Edgewater Dr. one. Sadly disappointed. This store appears to be more of a low end designer resale shop. The high end brands that they do have are limited, out of season, worn out, and high priced for the quality. My husband loves the stuff in the men's clothing section. He always finds something sweet that looks great. The women's section isn't as great when it comes to clothing, but their bag selection is great. Every time I've gone in they've had LV, Burberry, Coach, and other better brands of bag. The jewelry is hit or miss, but when they have a lot, you can usually find something you really want. Staff is super nice and the merch doesn't leave the store smelling like a lot of resale shops. I just bought a bag there and it almost has a sweet orange blossom smell instead of the usual stale smell of other shops. read more

After visiting Plato's I decided to venture over to Dechoes. Two different worlds fyi. Dechoes is geared more to that vintage hipster who likes to pay $30 bucks for an used pair of designer jeans. I go for fit aka what can fit my butt without having that underwear or crack peek out when I sit down. That's just me. The store is never really busy like across the street but I am sure they have their own following if they have two stores. I was quite disappointed. It was more like an overpriced thrift store than a resale shop. It was dirty and disorganized. The lighting was bad so you couldn't really inspect the clothing well, and many of the clothes I found had holes and/or stains. The staff wasn't familiar with the inventory (apparently they rotate between all the stores, so they don't know what is in the store). The prices weren't good either. $10 for a Forever21 or H & M top? I can get that new at the brand store. read more

Staff should tell you up front on the phone if you're planning on taking the time to bring clothes in for consignment that items NEED to be within the past 2 years and not say on the phone that they are looking for name brand items. I personally am not a huge fan of resale. I think that I can get better deals online and at sales, and I don't like clothes that have been worn by a stranger. When I heard that the Colonial Drive location was having a bag sale ($15 for everything you could stuff in a bag) I decided to give it a try. The shop had a nice set up and the items for sale weren't bad. I went with my sister and between the two of us, we got 5 items, four for her and a blouse for me. Luckily if you only wanted a couple items you could pay $2 each. There were a few things that concerned me about this bag sale though. The first was the actual bags, they were pretty small. Since individual items were $2 a piece, it was hard to even get more then 7 items in the bag to make it worth it. If other shoppers didn't notice this, then I'm sure a lot of them paid more then they should have. The second was the employee outside "monitoring" the sale. I mentioned to him that there were several shoppers taking multiple items off the racks and taking them off to the side so no one else could even look at them till they had tried them on and his answer was "yea, a couple people have mentioned that." Not helpful at all. The last thing that I found troubling was the keg. Free Yuengling is sweet, but it was unattended and with the crowd it was probably easy access to underagers. I think that was my first and last bag sale. If you are into "vintage" clothes then you will love this place. But for me, I'll pass. read more

I like it! A consignment shop not geared only towards teenagers or old ladies. Cute, funky, stylish dresses and outfits that I would wear! If only that one dress fit... sigh. You have a good chance of coming across the likes of Betsey Johnson designs in here, so pick through those racks carefully and try everything on! read more

vintage can be hit or miss depending on the selection at any given time, but it seems like the buyers here have a good eye for cute and wearable pieces. i liked the variety of clothing and accessories, and the staff was super-helpful and nice. i walked away with a cute jean vest and a semi-slutty dress that i couldn't say no to despite the fact that i have no idea what to wear it to besides tha club. my only complaint (as is my complaint with many vintage stores) is that the sizing tends to run HUGE. like, i tried on a small sweatshirt and it came down to my knees. can't win 'em all! read more

First off, thanks to all my fellow Yelpers who warned me about the potential snootiness of the staff. Like warning fellow drivers about speed traps. It's appreciated. So I braced myself for the worst but I was welcomed warmly by three 20 - somethings behind the counter. They not only offered assistance but a drink as well. Glass of wine or bottle of water. So the staff was great this visit. I like the design of the interior as well although the clothes are very loosely grouped by sizes. My only complaint was the merchandise itself. Whoever said this place has clothes that even Goodwill would reject was spot on. Would anyone wear a clown suit just because it said "Gucci"? That's how I felt browsing the racks. Ick! That said, I did find 2 pair of fantastic shoes and a belt so chalk that down as a score in the accessory department. Advice to the management: throw out about 90% of your stock and don't pay for name brand garbage that no one would wear. Unless they were a clown. PS- I originally went to the other Dechos location but couldn't find parking. At all. You can't park in the lot immediately next to the store and there are only a few spots for parallel parking in front of the store which are shared with other businesses. Thankfully the College park location wasnt too far away or I would have been super disappointed, making that drive amd not even being able to shop. read more

Such a fun time browsing here & glad I checked it out - can't believe the store's been open years & I'd never visited! I wasn't expecting much as many second hand shops can be a little gross and more like a jumble sale than a boutique, but kudos to whoever buys stock here as the pieces seem thoughtfully chosen and there is plenty to browse through without being overwhelming. The selection includes plenty of womenswear and menswear as well as accessories, shoes and a few cosmetic items. At the moment there are loads of dresses and quite a few tops and jeans, but unfortunately not many shorts which is what I'm in need of most at the moment! The general aesthetic reminds me of being an art student a few years ago, as there's an eclectic mix of both modern and vintage pieces with brands such as Lilly Pulitzer, Betsey Johnson, Marc Jacobs, 7 For All Mankind and other mid to high end brands mixed in with vintage from the 1970s, 80s and 90s, and a few cheaper items from Forever 21 and H&M. Definitely the place to visit if you're looking for something unique and colourful to stand out from the crowd! Prices are reasonable, ranging from a few $ to $10-30 for most pieces and more for higher end designer items. Staff seemed friendly enough & tend to leave you alone to browse. I did find some very cool 90s high waisted shorts for $12 and Lilly Pulitzer trousers in my size for just $16 (!), but they weren't 100% what I was after so I had to pass this time! However they'd be amazing finds for someone else. I'd compare it to a more grown-up, eclectic & classier version of Plato's Closet & would recommend it to anyone who loves unique & vintage clothing! I used to love browsing vintage fashion in London but their stores are much more expensive - this is much more affordable & I'll definitely be back soon! read more

I always get a snooty vibe from the people working, they have almost nothing over a size 12, and they just seem to have less quality things than their sister store in College Park. I always get compliments on the things I buy from Dechoes. The buyers are trained well and know how to spot quality items. There are 2 locations to choose from in Orlando, on Colonial and Edgewater. I personally have found great deals in both locations. They also do fun "Wine Not Wednesday" nights featuring free food from various local restaurants, wine, and live music. I go in every now and then and sometimes its hard to find something to wear (mostly depends on ones personal preference) but there's always interesting things. I love the people that work there, they are all so so friendly and aren't up your butt, its a very chill environment. I have never sold clothes there so I have nothing to say about that topic. They have punch cards and at the end you get 15% of your entire purchase, best thing about the punch card is the you get a punch if you chose not to put what you bought in a bag. Buyers are a bit arrogant. I was told that they mainly look for clothes with tags still on them and, despite having almost all high end brands listed on their website, they turned me away and suggested I try somewhere else. I ended up donating all to Goodwill and taking the tax write off instead, much easier and same or better value in the end. read more

I guess the grunge look is back! 95% of the items in there store look like they came from a thrift shop and the buyers have no idea what high end merchandise is or the value of it!! Yte another delightful experience at Dechoes. I have been going here for at least 8 years as a buyer and seller. I used to sell my samples here and I always pick up something vintage. Usually a pair of boots since I do travel globally year round, alsways nice to pick up a pair of vintage boots. Always so innovative, if you choose not to have a plastic bag for your new item, they will give you an extra stamp on your frequent buyer card. I got 10 stamps and saved 10% on a vintage dress. I'll most likely check back in a few weeks again to seek out new gems. read more

My Favorite Store in Orlando. They have a mix of everything good from current to vintage and all at very good prices. It's great that you can bring in things to trade in for merchandise or cash. I have sold my items to them often and the price they pay you is better than anywhere else I have found. They are picky about what they buy and I thank them for that. I appreciate it because I don't have to sort through all kinds of junk when I go there. It's all good stuff. I always find something cool to buy and the store is incredible. I have been to both locations of Dechoes many times. I've found some interesting stuff there but have never really been blown away. I think the reason I walk out with nothing more often than not is the staff. They are snide and negative. It seems that every time I go there I leave feeling like crap. Not only have they been rude to me but I have witnessed them going after other customers and being mean to people who call with questions. There is no justifiable reason for the attitude guys! The selection is sub par most of the time so you'd think that a little customer service might come into play, NOPE! There was one conversation that I overheard between the employee and a customer. We were both waiting for him to finish up his phone conversation about cock rings (yes, cock rings) and when he hung up he still did not acknowledge her. She put her findings on the counter and asked for some things he was holding for her. He acted like it was the most inconvenient thing in the world. He sighed heavily and rolled his eyes at her several times. Towards the end of the transaction she asked if they were hiring. He laughed at her and said "Sweetie, we wouldn't hire you. We only hire our friends here." What an ass! She looked so upset as she took her bag and left. As for me, I put my would be purchases on the counter, said "No thanks, I changed my mind," and walked out. No one deserves to be treated like that especially when they are a guest in your establishment. I have sold clothes to Dechoes three times. Once they did not take anything I brought, despite the fact that I purposefully included several pristine, vintage pieces. When I looked at my bags, I could tell that most of the clothes hadn't been looked at. I was sent on my way with a sneer on the employee's face. The other two times were similar except I sold one item each time. Both times the items were really worn and incredibly ugly. I was baffled by the buying/selling process. Of course if you ask, you just get attitude. My last, and I do mean LAST experience was a phone call. I called to see if they happened to have any appointments that day to buy clothes. I was informed that I needed to make my appointments in advance and that they don't "accept people off of the streets." Ok, cool, Dechoes. You're just losing us one by one. read more

I used to shop here a lot a few years ago. Since though, their selection has gone way downhill. Mainly clothes that look like they were picked out of the garbage dump. If you plan on selling your clothing there, don't expect to get much at all for it. One time I brought in some higher end labels (manolo blahnik, dvf, etc), and for the blahniks, which were brand new but a bit too small for me, was offered 15 dollars, as I was told they would sell for I think it was 30 or 35 dollars... Really?? I wound up giving the pairs away instead, as I don't appreciate being lied to or scammed by a business where i spend my money at. Definitely not recommended. read more

The atmosplere in Dechoes is very laid back and chill. Upon arriving, I was asked if I would like something to drink...a very nice touch. I have sold (and bought) several things here. I am not a resale shopper and so this is a strange review for me. A few years back I found myself in need of some vintage clothing for a party and was recommended to Dechoes. While there, I was very impressed with the amount of attention I was provided in order to help me with my transformation. Since then, it has become a go to place for picking up neat gift items for my trend conscious nieces at a reasonable price, especially accessories. I really recommend this place for finding a great deal on purses or if you need to put something together for a vintage party, like I did. The staff is the key here, they look unapproachable at first (to the suit and tie type), but they were very patient each time I was there and the same friendly faces seem to work from year to year, so ownership or management are apparently doing something right. I used to love shopping here (the store on Colonial) but lately the staff has SUCKED! I was in the store a few weeks ago with a friend, asked if I could make an appointment to sell some clothes, the girl told me that I could come by any time to sell them, and that they only make appointments for high end designer stuff now. Her personality was off putting to both my friend and myself, but what ever..we were there for their clothes..not her snobby lack of personality! Soooooo fast forward to today, I run home from work, grab my stuff, and drive all the way to the store through bumper to bumper traffic (I live in Lake Nona). I walk in at 5:45 PM and both sales girls are in the back of the store buying clothes from another customer. When one of them walks to the front to greet me, I tell her that I want to sell some clothes, and she tells me that they "stop their buys at 5:00 wtf?!?! Mind you, this is the same girl that told me to come back whenever to sell my stuff. So I'm now sitting in the parking lot in front of the store writing this. I'm pissed! I'm going to go dump a couple hundred dollars worth of designer clothes in some parking lot charity donation bin. I planned on shopping there when I was done, and spending my store credit..plus more...but I'll go to Millenia instead! Dechoes, your pretentious employees are hurting your business! read more

Interesting reviews. It is a shame that "Stevie" just doesn't get it. The store is a vintage resale shop and does not offer current trends. If it is new clothing you prefer then there are some great shops in the Orlando area. Dechoes has fabulous throw back finds but just like any resale shop you have to hunt and timing is everything. For me.....the experience is all about the hunt and a great find! I am definitely a fan and look forward to their "bag sale" every season. read more
