The common denominator was that our party of four was very hungry and pizza sounded great. The majority of pizza places will put the marinara sauce under the cheese so everything gets cooked. As soon as my phone buzzed I ran to the counter to grab the pies. Little did I know the person behind the counter was slapping the marinara on top of the pizza from a bucket that was sitting out in the open. Service certainly does not get a not. The guy worked behind the counter did not make even the smallest of conversations with us and hurried us along. The girl that "assembled" both pies did just that, flung both pizzas on the counter and walked off. Your experience may vary but I doubt a return trip would even be warranted after an ok experience. 2.5 stars seems more appropriate. We were just hungry. read more

We stopped in at Ivywild after doing the Manitou Incline and were starving. Growing up on the East Coast, there's nothing like a good NY/NJ pizza or Connecticut style. Having lived in the Detroit area for a long time, I only could eat pizza at a handful of places and Detroit style is NOT typically a style I like. In comes Decent Pizza, where I got a large (full) Cadillac Pizza. This was great and we enjoyed all of the toppings, particularly the garlic and banana peppers. Have them put the sauce on top, which is proper. The large pizza didn't look large, but between that and the empanada (yeah, they have like 8 empanada options...I got the steak one and it was good) I was full after 6 slices. I shared the last two, which received glowing feedback. What I found that was better at Decent Pizza than most of the Detroit style pizza I've had was that it wasn't super greasy on the outside (one of the worst traits of Detroit style) and it wasn't super thick (Detroit style is usually like a greasy-doughed Sicilian slice, but nowhere near as good). This was some of the best Detroit style pizza I've ever had, even more surprising is that it is in Colorado and not MI. read more

Basic appetizers (the spinach and artichoke dip is pretty good) and the star of the show - pizza. Get the double pepperoni for a simple dish. The half size is a personal size, while the regular is best shared for two (or one hungry teenager!) Drinks are limited to water or soda. If you know what Detroit style pizza is, you know this isn't it. Not even decent.. we ordered carry out.. the smalls were so small, basically a size of a slice of regular Detroit style. The dough might not have been proofed enough but, there was barely any crust, and that is what makes it Detroit style. it should be called sourdough bread because this wasn't pizza.. the sauce came on the side for both of the pizzas we ordered, the sourness of the bread over took everything. The cheese sticks were barely cheesy.. it was a hand full of cheese on the sticks that were on their side.. it should be called cheese bread and not sticks, I thought I ordered Mozzarella sticks. I had not been to Ivywild for a long time until this summer, when I first learned of this amazing little place thanks to picking up a DoorDash order from here. I finally got a chance to try it out and went with the Little Piggies pizza. I have no regrets after this, especially as a guy who actually lived in Detroit for some time. The crust was well done and what I expect from a proper Detroit style pizza. The amount of toppings for being a smaller pizza was perfect and the cheese was on point too - Wisconsin brick, the taste of which I recognize right away. Overall, a taste of home beautiful enough to almost bring a tear to my eye. The vibe of the place is great, too - it's nestled in a building full of multiple other restaurants and three different types of pubs - Axe and the Oak (highly recommended), Bristol Brewing and The Principal's Office, and with events happening there all the time. If you got extra time after you're done, go check out Odds and Ends across the hall - it's an awesome little store. read more

We got the Cadillac pizza to share. I'm not familiar with Detroit pizza, but I did like what I ate lol The dough reminded me of focaccia bread. The crust was crispy (without being burnt) all the way around with some melted cheese which was delicious for the perfect crunch, crispy and gooey bite. Last I love the cured meat and artichoke-- they did not skimp on toppings and provide different tastes and textures as well. Recently, I attended the Colorado Short Circuit Film Festival which I later found out was catered by Decent Pizza. All of the selections were to die for. That being said, the customer service I encountered when looking into catering an event for January.... Not so much. Inside Ivywild school there is this Detroit Style Pizza joint. Basically Detroit style is thick pan style square pizza with cheese and toppings and then they pour the sauce OVER the toppings. The one thing I really like about the sauce is that since tomatoes give me heartburn (it sucks getting old), I can say easy sauce and it isn't a big deal. The cup pepperoni's are a personal favorite too. We also tried their Spinach Artichoke dip with the garlic breadsticks and it was completely amazing. I would definitely get them again. Remember at Ivywild you can sit where ever and drink, but you need to order your food from the spot you want and then go pick it up when they text. Highly recommend! read more

I came here with high expectations but they weren't really met. Let's start off by saying they're pretty overpriced for what you get. The half size is about the size of those mini personal pan pizzas at Pizza Hut. The 6 year old was the only one that got full off the half. The 10 and 12 year olds were left hungry. My pizza wasn't made correctly but I was starving so didn't want to complain and since when does pizza not come with sauce on it? Their sauce is on the side!
