The staff was responsive throughout the planning process and requested fabric swatches in order to best match the wedding colors. On my big day, I was pleased with the overall effect of the arrangements. The colors were perfect; exactly what I was looking for. They photographed beautifully! I teetered between giving 3 and 4 stars here... I feel like cost/value was reasonable for the product. Unfortunately, I had to remove one star for quality/craftsmanship, as our bouquets were falling apart pretty badly after minimal handling. Several flowers were falling out of the bride bouquet following the ceremony. The stems also came loose from the plastic bases in making simple posing for photographs quite difficult in the end.

The baskets are gorgeous, healthy, and overflowing! They're heavy too! This year we got two at $35 each. They also sell flats of flowers for $14.95 I believe. More cost effective to buy the flowers and build your own hanging basket, but if you don't want to fuss with that they have plenty to buy outright. I went back a few days ago because I wanted to buy some flowers for my planters. The weather has been so cloudy and rainy I never started any from seeds. I was able to get way more than I needed for $40. Beautiful petunias and zinnias! I have a hummingbird that visits our hummingbird feeder daily so I wanted flowers to attract them as well. I still have some open pots so I plan on going back to buy some veggie plants. They accept cash and card. Service is always great too. The man that works there is very knowledgeable and helpful. I told him what I had and he suggested what to buy. He said they only put 3 petunia cuts in the hanging baskets we bought earlier this month. I repurposed a hanging pot and planted one petunia cut in it. I'll update with photo once it starts filling out.

They are very professional; and each time they came to our loved one's home to pick them up, Merkle employees straighten the hospital bed blankets beautifully and placed a rose on the bed' pillow before they left. The care and respect they gave my husband's parents during our time grieving was a 10+! Since his parent's passing, we have been to many funerals at the different locations of Merkel Funeral Home and each showing or service has been done with high professionalism and care.

We entered and no one was around. I said "You-Hoo?" and no one answered. My niece opened the first available door and saw a woman in a black skirt suit with her blouse untucked and in bare feet standing over an open casket. This woman came out, still disheveled and in bare feet and greeted us. (We should have left then but they had already picked up the body of my sister. She led us to an elevator, which had a huge bag of garbage on it, and took us to a downstairs meeting room. Among other things, she was not prepared for our appointment. She kept leaving to get things she needed. I wanted just a plain cremation because we were planning to inter her elsewhere in the summer. Many times, she said that "they" could help with that. She seemed to be interested in making more business. The funeral home wrote what I believe was an AI generated obituary after I had given her a detailed statement that I wrote. The saleswoman told us that the home would call when they received the death certificates. They did not. I called and had to pick them up at another inconvenient location. Finally, they did deliver my sister's remains, re-emphasizing that they would like to help us with her internment. Deli8vering my sister was the wrong time to ask for more business. I had to write the real obituaries and submitted them to the Monroe News and the Toledo Blade. A couple of weeks later they delivered an "advertising mug" and a corrected obituary. This certainly was too late, and the mug was in poor taste. Just because Merkle Funeral Home has several locations does not mean they are good at what they do. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THEM TO ANYONE!
