The exposure assignments she had me do empowered me. She had me yell at my anxiety and realize I have a choice to live with it or conquer it. Lynne is brilliant. She is highly trained in anxiety and panic disorder. She knows her stuff. I remember her telling me because I would ask her all the time, do you think I'll ever be normal again and be able to do things and she would say yes if you do the work. Lynne also helped me by communicating with my psychiatrist on what meds were working, and which ones were not. She helped me alleviate my fear to use anxiety meds through this difficult part of my life and not be scared of them. Even when we were doing telemedicine, I was still able to put myself in a place and imagine a scenario in my head where I had to deal with my fears. I just felt so safe and trusting with her. Lynne saved my life, I will always be grateful to her. I still have panic attacks once in a great while, but the tools Lynne left me with help me fight them and they don't escalate.

I have so much to say about Dr. Frank, both as a therapist and as a human being. What sets her apart from other therapists I've worked with is that she's motivating, solution-oriented, and genuinely connects with her clients. Over the past six years, Dr. Frank has helped me navigate a wide range of challenges, including parenting my son, my marriage, my business, and, of course, my own mental health. With her guidance, I've overcome many obstacles and grown as a person, a mother, and a business owner. If you're looking for a therapist who does more than simply listen--someone who will help you think through challenges, find solutions, and support your growth--Dr. Frank is the one I would recommend.

But those few years I wasn't being treated by Dr. J were, without a shadow of a doubt, the most trying years of my life thus far: multiple psychiatrists labeled me as "too complicated a case" and either changed my medications (which had been working for years) or refused to accept me as a patient, leaving me either without any medication or on a single medication that had nowhere near the desired effect. It was a very dark chapter of my life to say the least. But I started seeing Dr. Jesalva again in 2019 and was able to bring a much-needed close to aforementioned chapter and resume feeling like myself again! I'm back on my combination of medications that allows me to manage my moods and thus my daily interactions with people, relationships, my career, etc. Dr. J has always listened to me as an individual and weighed that heavily in my treatment plan; and as someone who works in the veterinary medical field, I appreciate that more than words can express. There's nothing negative to say about the way Dr. Jesalva practices: my prescriptions are refilled quickly and easily, scheduling appointments is a breeze, communication is clear, he has an in-depth knowledge of pharmacokinetics and prescribes or adjusts doses accordingly, and his focus is truly on my mental well-being. Recommended above all psychiatrists in the area!!

I have been a patient at Brain Institute for over two and a half years, and the recent experience I…read morehad was extremely disappointing. I received a text from an unknown number with no name or identification, and the communication was unprofessional and confusing. I was told my insurance had changed and was encouraged to pay out of pocket until I "fixed" it, even though I originally kept my insurance specifically for this office. I was also told I would be seeing a psychologist, but in reality they only provided a nurse practitioner. Misrepresenting credentials is unacceptable. The person who contacted me even suggested I go to the ER, which was inappropriate and unnecessary. I am not a drug seeker -- I simply needed my original, prescribed medication. The only positive experience I've had at this office has been with Dr. Patrick Gonzales, who is professional and trustworthy. Unfortunately, the rest of the staff has not shown the same level of care or honesty.

Dr M was sick and her assistant calls me 30 min before the appt to cancel. People get sick but 2 hrs later to call me. I get there and Dr M comes out and doesn't have me in the system . Dr M offers me to wait 30 min and get charged or comeback another time and the session will be free. Her Assistant claims the computer had to be refreshed. Complete bullshit. DR M may be a good at what she does I'll never know but she def needs a lesson on Business etiquette

She runs a very busy practice, teaches at UCLA and supervises students at the hospital. Dr. Zermeno is top notch. As far as the negative review, I understand she is expensive, as most Psychiatrists charge a substantial fee. As with any profession, she is running a business and requires payment in order to continue treatment. I doubt any medical provider in a private practice will provide services for free, even if the patient cannot afford treatment. Dr. Zermemo is the best out there. Highly recommended!

The problem w/ Dr. Peace is that she is more focused on keeping her schedule full and enforcing her…read more$200 cancelation fines than actually helping her clients. When I first spoke with her, she encouraged me to join her group and start seeing her. To do so, I had to change insurance and get a referral, no easy task. I was in touch with her throughout the process, she knew the lengths I was going to to start seeing her. Due to some very serious life events that were triggering my anxiety disorder, I needed to start seeing someone, immediately. I discussed this with her. She seemed to understand. Once my new ins. was set-up... well, there was no availability for an appointment w/ her. It took me a month to switch insurance, then another month to have one 7pm appointment in Downtown LA; really really inconvenient. Her advice to me was to log on to her patient portal and wait for a cancelation. Ok, I did what she asked, again, but there was only one cancelation, which I tried to take, but her portal system wouldn't let me schedule it because It required a CC# for her to keep on file, so as to deduct her $200 cancelation fees at will with pre authorization. I personally like to authorize it when $200 is deducted from my bank account, especially if it's for a service NOT performed. She has no assistant to make appointments or answer the phone, (no one ever answers the phone), so I emailed her, trying to take the only available appointment. She got back to me 3 days later, via email, to tell me that the appointment was already filled. So clearly, she actually can't accommodate new patients. She literally has no availability. So why did she have me go through ins. changes, putting off my much needed therapy for months? To keep her schedule as full as possible, that's why. To have a desperate patient, waiting at the patient portal, to take her canceled appointment times so she doesn't lose out on the money. What about my life crisis and need for therapy? Not in anyway a priority for this therapist. In addition to there not being a receptionist or scheduler, a faulty portal system, and 3 day turn-around on email replies, she likes to sleep in until noon. She explained this was a perk of the job, so you can expect her correspondence after 9pm. When I expressed my frustration, she told me to find a new therapist. I wish she gave me that advice months ago. I could have seen someone 8 times by now. Who knows, I could have already received the help I need.
