What an incredible session with a truly remarkable healer. And yes I do say healer due to the fact the Ray will expose the triggers, trauma and help you (in this case me) move through the blockages. I can't say enough how effective Ray is revealing the truth and helping to create an actionable plan moving forward. I look forward to our next session. Don't wait to be great with Ray. read more

I had a session with Ray to address my procrastination in tackling the things that I believe would be helpful to my career. Pretty quickly, he guided me through a meditative visualization in which I was in nature, doing activities that put me into my flow. I not only gained insight into what I need to do, but, equally important, into which aspects of what I was doing were not MY story. I left the session feeling much more connected to my flow with more clarity and a focus on what would feel more "heartful" than "viral." I'm feeling excited to get back to sharing my story, raw, real, and me--how I used to--versus the polished version in which I was being guided to by others. read more

I saw Dr. Ray a few months ago, through a referral from my sister. Looking back now, I was still very scarred from past trauma and the more recent trauma of an abusive relationship that we're keeping me so stuck. Mind you, I had been in traditional therapy in my adolescence and recently back in therapy and going to support groups, etc. After my sessions with Ray, he provided me with a new perspective on what I had been thru, and how to HEAL thru it rather than just talk about it and re-traumatize myself over and over with no solution. Traditional therapy is great too, but Dr. Ray's approach personally helped me out of a very dark hole. He gives you the tools you need to work thru past trauma, understand yourself on a deeper spiritual level and provides a different approach to therapy that was especially helpful for me. Also, he's just a cool guy who is real! Doesn't feel like you're talking to a judgmental therapist, it feels like someone who has been thru things you can relate to. Now, I am the happiest I've ever been and pregnant with my first child! Thank you Ray for being not only an awesome coach but friend through my journey!! read more

I have worked with a variety of people over the years; psychologists, hypnotherapists, reiki healers, psychics, life coaches, etc. Each one of these individuals helped, or taught me, something in one form or another. However, my experience with Ray has been one of the most enlightening and transforming experiences I've had up until now. From my first interaction with Ray, I realized how much I was in my head. He has a way cutting through, excuse my French, the bullshit, we tell ourselves. I think this is because Ray operates from a spiritual level that encourages, or challenges, anyone working with him to match the same vibration. Most people who meet me would say that I appear educated, discerning, and put together. And those who are close to me, know that I am also intelligent, sensitive, and deeply spiritual. I'm not saying this to toot my own horn. I'm saying this because I want to point out that it's not easy for me to find people who challenge me. But that's exactly what Ray was able to do. Being challenged can feel uncomfortable - at best. And at worse - it can feel terrifying, paralyzing and discombobulating. Because of some of my "strengths" which I mentioned above, I could quickly outsmart myself, and others, with elegant, or rational, explanations for my "problems". From an intellectual standpoint, I suppose this was satisfying but from a spiritual and emotional level, it only left me stuck in the same space. "When the student is ready, the teacher appears." - Buddah I met Ray Doktor at a point in my life when the pain of staying stuck outweighed the fear of moving forward. For me, this has meant fully owning who I am without needing the validation or approval from others. This also involves seeing the bigger picture and getting more connected with something larger, and deeper in myself. In our first session Ray asked me: "What would you like in your life, when it comes to relationships?" My response was: "I'd love to feel like I can be safe in a relationship. Safe, in that I could trust I wouldn't hurt my partner. Safe, in that they wouldn't intentionally hurt me; and if they did, I COULD TRUST IN MYSELF TO BE ABLE TO HANDLE IT." This was the key concept for me from my experience with Ray. I can honestly say that I feel more capable of doing this than ever before - not just in relationships, but in all areas of my life. Will things be perfect in the future? Of course not. Will I have challenges? Absolutely. Will things always seem to go my way. Not necessarily. What I do know is, that no matter what happens, I can trust in myself to be able to handle it. - PST read more

After only 8 sessions I began to understand who I am and become a stronger person with Dr. Ray. When I first came in I was distraught, confused and broken after a failed relationship and did know where to begin or how to deal with the roller coaster of emotions. Dr. Ray helped me open up about my experiences and made me feel comfortable in his home. Dr. Ray is an amazing listener and takes a holistic approach to guide you in the right direction. I have recommended Dr. Ray to my friends and I would continue recommending him to any person that needs guidance. He cares about his clients and he is not in it for the money aspect of it which made me very comfortable. Thank you so much Dr. Ray! read more

Do not know how this man has 5 star reviews. Had an "interview" with him on the phone to see if he wanted to take me on as a client. Wasn't really an interview, he just kind of yelled at me and made me feel bad, and made it about him talking about his divorce. He seems unstable. I remember thinking "damn this man needs a therapist" Who yells at someone seeking advice? Also why does he get in an argument with every poor review on yelp. And to all the 1 star reviews given by women I agree sexual harassment and chakras are not mutually exclusive. I'm surprised his yelp page isn't filed with #metoo read more

I was in the middle of changing careers and felt very stuck, so I decided to visit a career coach. I first wanted to go to a traditional career coach where you do the strengths assessment test and go from there, but after thinking more about it, I decided that I needed more of a holistic approach to this problem, so I chose Ray Doktor to do a couple of sessions. First, he spent about 45 mins with me on the phone and we talked about what I was trying to achieve. Then, I came in for 2 sessions: one breakthrough session and one follow up session. Definitely even after the first one I felt that I am not stuck anymore and it gave me so much guidance and food for thought! I can say that after these sessions I walked out with a lot more clarity in my mind, confidence, and a very different perspective on life in general. I was able to record our sessions which was great not only because you can go back to the conversation and listen it again but also hear yourself speak about the obstacles you are trying to get rid of, so sort of an outsider view on your own problems. He also gave a book and some video materials that were eye-opening and made me think in a much greater scale. For me personally, these sessions were a great investment! read more

Ray is great! He is super well-versed and has clearly been around the block with all kinds of relational and healing modalities and strategies, mind sets, you name it. He's intuitive, practical, kind but also very direct and funny. He cuts straight to the point and doesn't mince words. He has an edge but a soft side too - very interesting approach and highly illuminating. I am still a work in progress... but for now I find his dedication to his calling very inspiring. read more

Dr. Ray is the best coach! I've worked with others before and this has been by far the best and most impactful experience. He really helps you think about things in a different way, allowing for more peace and positivity to enter your life and mind. He has such a great way of explaining things to help you better understand yourself. He also offers great practices to better handle different situations to relieve any anxiety or stress. Highly recommend! read more

I too sought out Dr. Ray after reading his amazing Yelp reviews and realizing that it was time to address some lingering issues. His approach is very non traditional (his office is his apartment, he uses touch and light+sound therapy in his sessions, etc) but I was willing to give it a shot because of all of those 5star reviews. I believe that he is in fact caring and well meaning, but after half a dozen consultations I felt much worse than when I had started. It seemed Dr. Ray felt at a loss to help me find my way out of my increased anxiety and insomnia that emerged as a result of our work together. He was insistent that his method was quick (10 sessions max) and he couldn't work with me if I wasn't ready to improve. He suggested I see a medical doctor to address these issues and we left it at that. Personally, I found his approach to be professionally irresponsible and can not honestly recommend him. His obsession with quick fixes was a serious impediment to my healing. It put so much pressure on our last few sessions, especially when I wasn't improving fast enough in his assessment. His work is very deep and taps into old emotion, and it just felt reckless for him to send me away without so much as a follow up phone call after the work we had initiated. I know many people have found his work to be helpful and that's great. But I think it's also important for those seeking a practitioner to have a variety of perspectives from past clients. Since all the non-5star reviews have been removed or filtered (check it out for yourself in the filtered reviews link below) I felt it was important to add my experience. read more

Okay. I saw this therapist once about 2 years ago, and wrote a review at the time; however, I recently checked up on it (it means that much to me to have this information available to the general public) and noticed it had somehow been removed. I am a woman in my twenties with a history of trauma. I have seen many different types of psychologists and therapists, including body workers, and I have seen psychologists who work out of their homes before. I have been able to build useful, positive relationships with many psychologists, and I have never had an issue with a psychologist actively making me uncomfortable until Ray. He works out of his home, and is a very touchy-feely kind of person. Due to my past trauma, I am not. During our first and only session, he stroked my hair, and put his hands on my chest and belly (not to grope, but as part of the "therapy," I believe). This form of therapy was never explained to me prior to touching, and I was not warned prior to touching. I felt extremely uncomfortable, and was in tears by the end of the session. I checked the filtered reviews, and I noticed another patient mentioned that he stroked her hair and tried to spoon with her on his couch. Perhaps this is a part of his form of therapy; I admit there are types of therapy that incorporate touching and are effective in their use of touch. However, I would NOT recommend this therapist if you fit into one of the following categories: 1) You are a woman. 2) You have discomfort with strangers touching you in places you are not normally touched. 3) You have any history of sexual abuse. 4) You feel uncomfortable being alone with a strange man in his home. The bottom line is that therapy is intended to help us become more happy, functional people. This type of therapy seemed more likely to further damage a person with my history. read more

I am writing this review with great sadness... a few months ago I was talking on the phone with Dr. Doktor and believed I have found a truly objective, practical and inviting professional who may help with my marriage crisis (gone really bad in the last years). After a while I have decided to get his help and start a treatment. Unfortunately this time I met a different person: a "colder" attitude, and no empathy at all. At the session that held in his home (apparently) with the Doc dressed in a T shirt and shorts (...???) I felt that I could not explain my problem deeply enough and had a feeling that he "knows me better than I ever did". My issue with my wife turned out to be my emotionally unbalanced relationship with women, people & the world.... even though I don't believe I have problems with anybody else... I felt that I had to be defensive against the therapist instead of finding a listening heart... worst than that he used "vulgar" language as part of his "direct" approach and I find it a bit unfit when people first meet and are not yet "equal". I guess our attitudes just don't fit so we cannot be a team and that's why I wont have his service again. I am a bodywork therapist my self for 19 years and know that the most fundamental element needed in healing is EMPATHY! I could not feel any of it with Dr. Doktor... sorry... However I was reading here a few other reviews mentioning sexual harassment like "spooning" patients and I find it hard to believe it. In that case I believe Ray Doktor is safe enough and reliable (that's why I gave 2 points and not just one). He believes in his way so maybe some other patients have better results. read more

It's taken me a few weeks to actually sit down and write this review, as it's imperative that I choose my words carefully, since this isn't just about where to get a good burger. I have worked with "talk therapy" in the past and at those times it seemed to serve me well. But I've reached a point in my life where I've come to realize that it's going to take more than talk to deal with the emotional and spiritual blocks I keep encountering over and over again. I've wrestled with these issues on my own in the past and to be perfectly honest have avoided seeking outside guidance on this before, because these matters are so personal and important I didn't want to risk opening myself up to someone who was incompetent, self-serving, or worse yet, pretentious. Fortunately while sitting in an airport on the verge of emotional and spiritual collapse, I decided I couldn't stand being so tether-less anymore, pulled out the laptop, and went to my old friend Yelp. (Seriously, is there anything that Yelp can't do?) After a brief search as I tried to figure out exactly what it was I was looking for, I came upon Dr. Ray. Then, based on the aforementioned glowing reviews and after a night of sleep, nervously placed that first call. By far the best decision I've made recently, of course with my poor decision-making lately I couldn't really screw anything up at this point. All kidding aside, it was the best decision I've made in a while. All of these kinds of experiences and relationships are so subjective, intimate, and personal, ultimately you will have to draw your own conclusions. But my experience has been nothing short of grace. I'm embarking on what most likely be the most important journey I've ever taken and I will always be grateful that I'll have the guidance and support of Dr. Ray to get me moving and assist me on the way. Regardless of your religious beliefs, or lack of them, and any pre-conceived notions you may have about the process of remembering who you really are, he will tailor the therapy to meet YOUR needs in the best manner possible to assist you in getting where you need/want to be. I don't know where I'd be right now, if I hadn't placed that call. But I do know this; my perspective has shifted immensely in a very short period of time, I look toward the future with a sense of renewal, and that none of that would have happened at this moment, if it hadn't been for Dr. Ray. Now I'm excited again about the world of possibility that lies before me. I wish the very same for you. read more

Dr Ray is not your typical therapist. He is definitely a breath of fresh air! His sessions aren't in a stuffy or cold office, they are in his home, which radiates his calm and peaceful energy. He doesn't dress in a suit and tie, just the opposite, his attire is again reflective of his calm and peaceful way. Dr Ray incorporates non-traditional therapy techniques, such as light therapy, sound therapy, energy therapy, etc into traditional therapy discussions. These non-traditional therapies help reduce mind and body tension and make the traditional therapy discussions really sink. It's like a total mind and body re-boot! He is professional, down to earth, caring and compassionate. He has a knack for making conversations about difficult subjects seem natural. Sometimes the ego doesn't want to hear certain things, but he is skilled at shining a non-threatening light on areas that the ego wants to keep dark. Dr Ray quickly seems like he's someone who's known you for all of your life and he creates a safe space of trust without judgment. I am at a pivotal point in my life where I am experiencing a lot of changes. Some great changes and some uncomfortable changes are occurring. It was at the perfect time I started interpersonal counseling with Dr.Ray. Grateful to have had the time and energies to work on myself and work out a few blocks that have been getting in my way. I was given great tools by Dr.Ray to ask myself some hard truth questions, and how to work out the answers. I love how real he gets and how real he keeps it. There's no sugar coating the issues....there's no tip toeing around the issues. I was there to work some crap out, and rid myself of mental blocks I've carried around since I could remember. Whewwww feeling lighter already. Dr. Ray is very personable and he asked great questions, and I felt he actually listened to my answers. I can honestly say I didn't feel judged by him. This was a safe and calm space I was in and I appreciate that, as it didn't feel so clinical. I appreciate that he gave me home work, and visualization so to do on my own. I need to constantly invest in myself, and he gave me great tools to keep working on this. I will recommend Dr.Ray to my family and friends for sure. He is motivating, sincere, and real and kept my attention. After my sessions I am on a high and really strive to maintain this. Nothing but greatness has come from working with Dr.Ray. read more

I contacted Dr. Ray after reading the glowing yelp reviews. As other yelpers have mentioned, hIs approach is non-traditional and gets to the core issues much more quickly and seamlessly than with conventional therapy. Each time I meet with him I am increasingly amazed at his thoughtful perspective. He is kind, empathetic, insightful, and wise beyond his years. I am so grateful to have the opportunity to work with him. Through our conversations, guided meditations, and recommended "homework" I feel so much more healthy and alive. I would like to highly recommend Dr. Ray to so many people who are looking for different ways to heal from your fears, ego and darkness. He is not a conventional therapist where one just sits and chats for an hour until your time is up. We would chat for about 20 minutes in the beginning and with the information he had collected, he used one of his spiritual, meditative techniques on me...it almost felt like hypnosis. Dr. Ray's voice is extremely deep and soothing, and immediately I felt very much like I was in a completely safe environment. During our 4 sessions together he used sound therapy, theta therapy & deep visualization with meditative music. After every one of my sessions with him I had a profound "Ah-ha" moment so I knew what to work on. I am a spiritual healer myself and I have to say after working with Dr. Ray, I have become more aligned with myself so I am able to be of better service to this world. Thanks Dr. Ray read more

Ray is nothing less than my hero. Only 8 days ago, I was a depressed and confused mess. I had been feeling terrible for about three months straight, constantly ridden with anxiety and depression related to fears surrounding my relationships. My stomach hurt when I woke up in the morning and continued to do so until I went to bed. My mind had become a miserable spiral of irrational and seemingly uncontrollable fears that were consuming my life. In my desperation to feel better, I had begun to experiment with illegal drugs that I had never considered before, just to escape my worry and depression for a short time. I was becoming addicted to Xanax, taking multiple a day, and was depressed because I knew that I would destroy my relationship if I continued on that way, which was the very thing I was most afraid of. Finally it occurred to me to try hypnosis. From the moment I saw his website I had a good feeling about him, and I knew deep down he was the one that would help me. And sure enough, out of the eight people I called and left messages to, he was the first to call me back. Immediately I felt comfortable speaking with him, and he took time on the phone to learn about me and even helped me financially, as I am a poor college student. My first visit was wonderful and in his office I felt safe and loved. He is an incredibly strong-spirited, yet gentle, brilliant man. He helped me come to many epiphanies about myself and childhood that were dragging me down, and in just one visit helped me release much of the tension and pain associated with old memories. He also made me a few listening and viewing materials that were extremely helpful. When I left his office, not only was I extremely relaxed, but I had new knowledge that was going to help me become the person I want to be. The following week, it was like I was a whole new person, and at the end of my second visit he told me I didn't need to come back. And he was right, I had already received all the tools that I needed. I have not taken a Xanax in seven days, nor have I even had the desire to. I feel good about 90% of the day as opposed to bad 90% like before. I am enthusiastic and happy to be alive and continue growing in the direction Ray has helped me see. He has helped me realize that the power to heal myself was in me all along, and opened my eyes to tapping into that energy. I am eternally grateful for Ray's help, and the beautiful and powerful changes he has helped me bring to my life in such a short period of time. I am writing this review with excitement and enthusiasm in my heart because I feel Ray is a gift to be shared. I am not promising everyone will have such tremendous results as quickly as I did, but I am promising that you will not be disappointed. I could not possibly recommend him enough, and am telling you now, if you're looking into such services, call him. I guarantee he will be your friend, your mentor, your angel. read more

Dr. Ray is an incredible coach and human being. I had found his videos on YouTube and was intrigued by his in depth understanding of masculine and feminine energies, how that plays out in relationships and how we manifest certain things in our lives without realizing it. In making appointments, he was flexible in allowing me to schedule sessions on an "as needed" basis because I wasn't sure it was what I needed. He told me honestly that he didn't think I'd need many sessions, which made me easily trust his integrity. He was professional yet open and compassionate. I felt comfortable and safe in his presence and in each of the sessions he led me into addressing my deeper subconscious beliefs and identity. I felt my energy shift after every one of my 3 visits and the result was a true change in regards to how I show up and what I was able to attract in my life and relationships. I would HIGHLY recommend Dr. Ray to anyone wanting to make a real shift in their life! read more

I had first encountered Dr. Ray because I was, in a way, searching for a spiritual mentor in my life. When I first found him, there was quite a bit of skepticism despite the great reviews on Yelp. A couple of sessions later I realized he is more than your typical "listen and agree" therapist and life coach. He is proactive and interjects appropriately. He provides helpful and relevant "homework" type materials in the form audio, video, and exercises that we have never experienced before. Just when I was about to give up on myself in finding that awareness and spiritual balance, Dr. Ray, in essence, came to save the day. :) He is a therapist, a life-coach, a spiritual guide, and has me both growing in such a way no other person has been able to do thus far in my life. I am looking forward to what the future sessions will do for me, not just for my spirituality and relationships with others, but in achieving my goals in life as well. Thank you, Dr. Ray! read more

I cannot say enough good things about my experience with Dr. Ray. I originally contacted Dr. Ray to help council my relationship (which he did), and have continued 1:1 sessions with him over the past several months. I have typically shied away from counseling and talk therapy as I didn't think that it 'worked' for me in the past, only now realizing that I wasn't with the *right* therapist. Dr. Ray has truly changed my life for the better: helping me through deeply rooted, unresolved issues from my childhood, counseling me through current issues in my life and has helped me understand and realize what I want for myself and my life and my relationships moving forward. If you are looking for a therapist that is going to sit there and just stare at you for an hour, scribble a few notes on a pad, and basically act as a silent sounding board--Dr. Ray is NOT the person for you. Dr. Ray IS: -extremely thoughtful and mindful -an expert in his field -vocal and expressive -encouraging you to explore your mind to better yourself and grow I would genuinely recommend Dr. Ray to anyone who is in a relationship and needs couple's counseling or individual counseling. His understanding of human dynamics and relationships is really insightful and deep. I am simply fascinated with the work Dr. Ray does and the person he is. Every session is a breath of fresh air, and I leave feeling more connected with myself, more conscious of my life and life around me. In just a few sessions, I was able to feel so many deep changes within myself. The path of self discovery never looked so exciting. It's not easy work, but with his help, it's much more pleasurable. I'm not really one to write a review on something mediocre. Having said that. . . I give Dr. Ray my highest recommendations. I've had family and relationship issues for years. Dr. Ray helped me see my problems in a different way. In a way that my way of thinking began to change. Not only on these issues, but most importantly on my view on life and on myself. There were never two sessions with Dr. Ray that were the exactly same. He used different methods each time to get me to open up. Before I knew what had hit me I was feeling a much happier person. I can't say exactly when I started feeling like this, I just know it all happened pretty quickly. Like Mike W. mentioned. . .he really isn't just a therapist, he is an exceptional life coach that truly cares about his clients. He is a very easy person to talk to, which makes for a more comfortable experience. I've seen other therapists in the past that have helped me a bit, but the truth is no one has helped me as effectively as Dr. Ray. I have worked with dozens of practitioners over the years, who have all claimed to get to the root issue. Dr. Ray is the only one who has ever actually done it. And...he did it minutes into the first session! Not only will he show you the path to heal your life, but he gives you the tools so that you can continue doing the work yourself, without his guidance. One session with Dr. Ray was more valuable than two years of therapy! I wish I could give 10 stars, because I'm not aware of anyone else who is capable of doing what Dr. Ray does! I have never felt the need to write a Yelp review before. Tastes vary, and I respect that. But when someone like Ray comes along, I have to stop and acknowledge I've found something special. I'm good at reading people, and I could tell Ray was extremely different from me. He's more of a performer, the kind of man that exudes an easy confidence about him in everything he does; and he does a lot of things! I usually don't trust people like that, but Ray was different. With him this confidence wasn't all show--he really is what he seems, as transparent as water. And like all wise people, he would rather bring out greatness in others than put them down to feel superior. That last trait is what won me over. From the beginning, I felt a butch kind of nurturing from Dr. Ray. It's very rare to see masculine nurturing and encouragement in a society that tells men to hurt each other if they want to be anyone in life. With his very practical approach, Ray was able to help me reach my emotions without the usual self-pity that haunts most of us. Dr. Ray's spiritual, kind, and no-bullshit wisdom addresses problems like very few do anymore. In a society in which shrinks are becoming more and more expensive and useless, Ray is the best psychologist I've had the pleasure to work with. I couldn't recommend him highly enough. I would especially recommend him if you're a guy who's trying to reconnect with your masculinity in a non-destructive way. Even if you're a gay man like me. I can reassuringly say that today, I am a much happier and more confident person than I was previous to seeing Dr. Ray. To call him only a doctor is a disservice to his vast abilities. My experience with Dr. Ray Doktor has been a very positive one. In the last two years, I have been referring male clients with sexual challenges to Ray Doktor. We are both in the same field. This issue is very sensitive. It takes a person with understanding and compassion such as Dr. Ray to achieve the positive results that his clients have shared. He is very good at getting to the core of the issues that are truly causing the problems. Dr. Ray's approach is a little different than that of your regular therapist. Even though he has a Doctorate in psychology, he combines reiki and hypnotherapy. I only wished that he spoke Spanish so that I could refer Spanish speakers to him lol. read more

If I had to choose only one word to describe my experience with Ray it would be 'magical'. I saw him the first time at the beginning of this year feeling utterly hopeless. My husband actually was the one who found him and he literally had to drag me to see him because I was so lifeless. But in a surprisingly short amount of time my reality was transformed into one of positive excitement for the future. He's helped me find new ways of seeing myself and life. Through our conversations, guided meditations, and other healing therapies he used, I quickly started to let go of many limiting and negative beliefs I unknowingly held in place. Then directing this new-found energy to who I really am is just the most magical, powerful thing I've experienced in a long time. The fact that each session is new, unique and completely directed to where I am at that moment has been profoundly transforming. Its an incredible place to be when you can have someone like Ray with all his wisdom and warmness, completely present for you, with a totally open heart invested towards your betterment. I look forward to our weekly sessions together with so much excitement! Ray, you have been such a great healer, mentor and friend to me. I am forever grateful! read more

After many sessions of conventional therapy and feeling like I was getting nowhere, I decided to make some changes. That's when I called Ray, and his approach to therapy was exactly what I needed. I had never seen a male therapist before, and I felt more at ease and more myself with him than I had any other therapist, and more open to talk to him about all aspects of my life. He provided me with the ability to find the answers to the questions in my head within myself instead of pinpointing where they originated. I always left calmer with a deeper understanding of myself. I cannot thank Ray enough for the wonderful work he provides. If you are ready to step outside the box and move forward in your life, Ray is the therapist for you. As a side note, after seeing Ray, reading Penny S.'s review makes absolutely no sense. That's what it is - NONSENSE. read more

Like many others. I contacted Dr. Ray after reading the positive reviews about him on yelp. I felt that I might benefit from some life coaching, so I figured it's worth a shot. It took me a few sessions to trust him and understand where he was going with the various exercises and "homework" he was having me do, but after my 3rd of 4th session with him I began to see the value of the information he was giving me and his unique observations about my own life. If you are feeling a bit "stuck" and want to gain a different perspective on your life I recommend you check him out. He has definitely helped me entertain some new ideas and notions about how our world works and how one should live their life. I'm certainly grateful for that and I feel that my time with him was very well spent. read more

I had a consultation call with Dr. Ray some time ago, joined his mailing list and finally got to a point where I felt "ready" to attend one of his seminars. In my opinion, working with Dr. Ray requires that you be "ready" to be honest with yourself and be open minded to new techniques / exercises that help improve self realization. So if you are at that point in your life, you will be able to take full advantage of what Dr. Ray has to offer. While I sound very hippy dippy in this review, I'm actually NOT. Dr. Ray does a good job of mixing up spirituality and practicality at the same time. He's willing to be open about his successes and failures, laugh at himself and engaged with attendees in an honest and straight forward manner. He's a good read and delivered TLC to complex questions and was light when an "easy" question came his way. I did see the ONE star reviews and feel that sometimes we aren't ready to receive the message, we let fear guide us or hey, Dr. Ray might not be the right fit for YOU. If you are willing to step out of the box, try him. The worst thing that can happen is he's not your style. The best thing that can happen is that you take away EXCELLENT tools, exercises, support and feedback from your experience (like I did). read more

Dr. Ray is an amazing teacher and guide whom has helped me level up in my relationships (including my relationship with myself). He is a wealth of knowledge and is very tuned in, so much so that he needed very little information and knew the dynamic that was playing out in my romantic life. Dr. Ray helped me to get in touch with my inner being and how to be my authentic self in relating to others. Before meeting him, I was repeating patterns that left me feeling frustrated instead of openly communicating from a place of abundance. Now I "show up" by standing in my truth and it's been really amazing to watch my relationships get better and better as a result.. Thank you Dr. Ray! read more

This guy is a real trip! It's hard to review him for his actual services because I don't really feel I got much. He's a very difficult person to deal with, and I had some of the most unprofessional 'service' I've ever encountered. I pre-paid for my sessions and session, number 1 (where I brought my credit card) was easily arranged. After that, it was tremendously hard to see him. I work, like normal people M-F, 8-5. He would leave me long messages about family issues or his 'jazz band' practice he had to contend with, and normal life stuff that people just get on with. I understand that personal stuff gets in the way sometimes but literally, months had passed from my first session with him. I don't turn up to him with excuses about how I had personal issues going on and couldn't pay him. Ray works from his Santa Monica apartment that doubles as a workspace. His rates are extremely high, 2/3 times that of other people. He's very jealous over protecting his time, which is fine, I respect that. But he even gets annoyed if you leave him a Voxer message (which he asks to use) outside of his 5 hours per day, 4 days a week working window! Not joking, I left him a message on a Saturday (to be responded to at his convenience) and he left me a 6-minute voice message that same day telling me how busy he is and how I shouldn't contact him. Then he called me twice, then sent me a long email describing how upset he was that same day. Don't check your work emails or messages if you don't want to see work related stuff is how normal professionals handle this. Somehow, Dr. Ray thinks that its my responsibility to remember his special work hours lol. He suggested a refund of some of my pre-paid sessions (I should not have pre-paid for sessions), and became very upset when I took him up on the offer. He literally told me that my life would go terribly and I would have a 'horrible life'. I couldn't but start laughing at the total bemusement of this paid professional using this language down the phone. There was a LAUNDRY LIST of insults. If I was to believe Ray, my life is about to go completely horribly from now on. I left that call thinking that this dude needed some therapy. The irony is that he is narcissistic, but claims other are, and I'll prove it. Dr. Ray will not be able to resist having the last word, as all narcissists must have. He will reply to this review (rather than ignore it or rise above it) to launch into a character assassination of me despite being a paid professional. My recommendation to new people meeting him - pay him session by session until you figure out of you like this guy. The reviews are polarized and I can see why. read more

Doctor Ray is a man of high integrity, compassion and sensitivity. I was in the doldrums riddled with anxiety ,fear ,stuck in stories of my past, low productivity at work and had issues with developing relationships. I had my priorities all upside down. Through my working with Doctor Ray in his private sessions I was not only able to jump from 40 % to 100 % productivity but my overall life just got clear. My Dad and me did not have the best of relationships through working with Dr Ray in one of my sessions I released the blocks with my Father and let it go. My father decided to visit me unexpected from India 4 days after that. This is just one of the manifestations in my life I can keep going on. I feel god working powerfully through Dr Ray's Work. I am on the journey to a more centered and deeper connected sourced man after my work with Dr Ray. Dr Ray has helped me be a man of high Vibrational Energy with women and men alike, something I can never repay him back for. If god and divine is in all beings Dr Ray has made me see what is not divine in me, sometimes that shift in energy itself is immensely profound as everything else will align once the root is aligned. I highly recommend Dr Ray to anyone seeking help with anxiety ,relationship issues and negative energy in them and more. I say this after seeing over 6 therapist and attending countless workshops on personal growth. Will leave a message from mother theresa " People will hate you for loving them ,Keep loving anyways" In Short I have had measurable results and much more beyond after seeing him. Keep up the good work Dr Ray the world needs it and people like you so we can all be awakened :) !! read more

I have never posted a review about anything on yelp before and since I have a high profile job I try to stay out of all media . I also usually stay neutral in other peoples fights/disagreements I usually stay out of things when I was not there to see both sides. I do feel however if one person posts anything negative about another on the Internet the other person should be allowed to post his or her side of it. So because of the negative reviews posted on here I will post my experience with Dr.Ray to at least give others more views of how his service worked for me. I entered into a very dark place in my life, I thought I had seen darkness before as a child, ALL through my teens, 20s and 30s. Also a few failed relationships but nothing like this. I do not in anyway want to put into words how deep my darkness had gone but I am VERY trained in ways to do large amounts of damage and I honestly felt I had no reason to go on. I had seen multiple therapist even a couple of very expensive Beverly Hills ones thinking "you get what you pay for" well lets just say that they didn't really help and when I realized it wasn't working for me they would try and keep me coming back. A while later something horrible happened to me that triggered this very dark place. I felt I had no place to turn and no one seemed to understand this darkness I was drowning in.I had reached the end. A very close friend of mine told me how he had been in therapy since he was child and nothing had helped more than Dr.Ray. That in a matter of months Ray had removed issues that he had carried around his whole life. I was also told that Ray had very unusual ways of working but if I really wanted to get better and put all this behind me that I should give him a call. But If I was not truly ready to get better to not even bother, that this would be work rite away in the first session and Ray would be able to tell if I was not really wanting his help. I had no place else to turn so as a last resort I called and left a V.M. Ray called me back that same day and made an appointment a few days later. Now I had a few days to fester and let things build up. I went deeper into darkness and can't even describe in words what this place was like and I hope no other person ever has to feel what I felt but it was way beyond bad. By the time I walked into Ray's I was a disaster, I had so much rage in me I could not even speak. He walked over and asked if he could practice touch therapy on me (pretty brave since I am a lot bigger than him) I was ready for any kind of help from this place I was in and just nodded. He put one hand on my chest and one on my back put pressure on some spots and I found this huge release. It was very strange but wow! It didn't pull me out of everything but it helped enough to be able to explain to him what was going on. He didn't flinch, he listened, then said I want to learn more about you and the things you have been through but today I want to help you get out of this place your in so lets get to work. He pulled out his props and did things that I did not fully understand and some things I knew about like EMDR and spent 90 minutes with me. Gave me home work and I went home and was able to sleep for the first time in 5 DAYS. I went back for few months until 1 day he said you don't really have anything left to work on and I don't want to just sit here and take your money every week. So lets just stay in contact via email or phone and if anything comes up come back and well work on it. This has been by far the best year of my life, He removed so much stress and pressure from my life that EVERYONE that has known me has commented on what a different person I am. To the point that 2 of my family members (one is a medical professional) traveled a very far distance to get help from Ray. To this day he still talks to them over the phone and helps them. I get thank you texts and phone calls all the time. I have referred several people and given them the same guidelines I was given by my friend (that I now owe a huge dept to.) Every one of us has a different path to walk in life and what works for me may not work for you. But if your ready to change, if your ready get rid of things that are holding you back give Ray a call. It wont be easy it might be strange but what do you have to lose compared what you have to gain? Again I am not saying Ray can fix everything, I have never met a person that could... but he saved me from the place I was in and helped me to develop the tools I now have to get to the place I am now in life and I will always be thankful to him. I never in my wildest dreams believed that life could be this good. To anyone reading this that might be going through something similar to what I did: I wish and hope with all my heart that you find the correct person to help you with your path Like Ray did with me. Wow. This guy is incredible. Let me start by saying that he is so good that I got a close loved-one and two of my co-workers to see him and they all LOVE him and have benefitted from him immensely. All of them, including myself, needed no more than 5 sessions with him. That is how good Dr. Ray is. Dr. Ray is not your conventional therapist. He has the credentials and education of your typical therapist, but utilizes and integrates many non-traditional methods of therapy as well, which is why he does not accept insurance. Think East meets West type of thing. I'm compelled to go into more detail in regard to his more non-traditional methods, but I think it would detract from your experience. Its best to just go in there not really knowing what to expect, but being open to anything and everything. You will not spend countless sessions just talking, talking, talking. Somehow he's able to read between the lines QUICKLY and get to the ROOT of issues without even really needing much detail about your life. Dr. Ray will encourage you to think outside the box. I liken him to naturopathic medicine -- he cures the root cause of your issue allowing for more overall healing and well-being. I've seen several different traditional talk therapists and even one Cognitive Behavioral Therapist and while it felt good to vent to someone new, I ended up spending a lot of time and money rehashing my life's details with out making much progress. Sure, I did learn a few pearls of wisdom here and there, but I never really walked away having felt challenged. It took Dr. Ray, however, less than 15 minutes in our first session to see though me and my BS. I left that day feeling a little uncomfortable -- the kind of discomfort that made me see that he was capable of challenging me. And I went back for more. And the learning doesn't stop when you leave his door -- he sends you home with audio CDs/DVDs specific to you -- amazing supplements to the sessions and great food for thought. If you are serious about making changes in your life or if you are looking for some (non-religious) spiritual guidance -- you can NOT go wrong with Dr. Ray. I even opened this Yelp account just to write this review. read more

Was really looking forward to the first call that you are instructed to schedule and answer questions before the first call. I scheduled a call then no one called me, and after I sent an email to reschedule got no response. I find this ironic being that one of the questions on the application is I will commit to this phone call, and you have to write that like a repeat after me. Weak follow up on behalf of this therapist's practice. read more
