Sheldon was fabulous to work with, coming up with a great menu out of the box. Some of our guests have celiac, and others are lactose-intolerant; all food was perfectly labeled so these people felt safe eating it. Many guests approached me to rave about the food afterwards, and this is a foodie crowd. Even the recommended beer and wines were just right. They set up the area perfectly, and the staff, overseen by the attentive and sensitive Roma, and were able to accommodate a few last-minute requests (e.g., an electrical outlet and extension cord; rearranging chairs to be out of the sun; extensive speeches that could have eaten into food time). We had a number of updates to our requests as close-in as days before the event, and all were accommodated with a smile. I add that I set this whole thing up from FL and CT, never setting foot on the property before the event. And all went off without a hitch. I recommend Melon's wholeheartedly!

I cannot recommend Melons enough, especially to people who need to serve a variety of food from…read moredifferent cuisines. My husband is half-Greek and half Indian; and I am Chinese. We wanted food at our wedding that reflected our cultures (and our favorite foods). We received catering contracts from several caterers, but Melon's was the only one where we really felt like they had worked with our ideas. Chef Stephen told me at the first call outright that he couldn't do "the most authentic", but he could make delicious food. He was right -- and all my guests (most of whom dislike fusion) were super pleased. People literally raved to me first about the food of all the things about my wedding, especially the red-cooked duck leg and the baklava. 2022 was a crazy year for weddings, and Melons was super busy and a bit slow in responding through the first half of that until the summer. So just be aware of that when you work with this vendor. We booked them without a tasting and pleased at our tasting to discover that we had chosen well. (And were again very pleased at our wedding when the food was exactly as it was at the tasting, except they had taken into account our feedback as well so it was even better!) Finally, the servers were all kind and so courteous and happy for us on the day of. The only sad thing is that I can't eat my wedding food again, to be honest.

Wow, Alicia and Toast, absolutely amazing! Cannot recommend this company highly enough. I reached…read moreout to 5 caterers for quotes for my event. Toast came back mid range on pricing but by far the best in terms of what they included and also what wasn't included. What they were able to include was coordination and delivery of rentals (plates, flatware, chairs, tables, etc.) and what they didn't include is a ton of unnecessary and frankly extremely expensive fees that other companies did. Another "right off the bat" win was how communicative and professional Alicia was. When we started going back-and-forth on email, she called me to clarify my needs and understand my vision. That allowed her to give me a much more customized quote that included all the foods that I liked instead of a cookie cutter version of a menu that was suited to somebody else's tastes. Most other companies were giving me menus with shellfish and prime rib, neither of which I wanted on my menu. After settling on the menu, the rest of the process with Toast was so easy. They took care of all the coordination with my venue directly, organizing all the load in and load out details. Day of, I showed up to staff who was prepared, competent, and went above and beyond to make sure my guests were taken care of. I wish I knew the name of one of the servers who was hands-down the best server I've ever worked with. He somehow knew my brother was the vegan, and brought him his plate right when everyone else was going through the buffet. He also had noticed a guest was not drinking and brought them a cup of the alcohol free drink to their place. One guest asked for a wine that was not on the table and he made an effort to go to the bar and get that for them. Just fantastic! Quality of food was also impressive. I did pass appetizers and a buffet dinner. The past appetizers were all excellent, especially the mango spring rolls with peanut sauce. Yum! I was worried the buffet food would be mediocre, but everything tasted fresh, well cooked (not over or under, which is hard with salmon a chicken!) and perfect temp. I had many of my guests mark on how delicious the food was. Thank you, Alicia and Toast staff, for making my birthday run flawlessly and allowing me to truly enjoy the event with no stress!

From the very beginning, she was incredibly responsive, thoughtful, and patient with all of my questions (and I had a lot!). Then, the tasting came around. I kid you not that from the first bite of salad, my mind was made up. Then the apps started rolling in, then the miso salmon. Seriously, I'm getting hungry just thinking about it. Alicia created a fun atmosphere during the tasting. She shared tips and suggestions that never even crossed my mind. Luckily, I had a pen with me because I was taking notes between bites. The food itself was outstanding, seasoned well, presented beautifully, flavorful, and memorable. She made sure that as the bride and groom we ate by leaving apps in the bridal suite. Then her team kept checking on us throughout the night to make sure we had food. Again, the food was beyond amazing...salmon, chicken, pesto pasta..the list goes on and on. But what really set Alicia and her team at Toast apart was the level of care and attention she brought to the entire experience. She went above and beyond to make sure everything ran smoothly, and it truly felt like she was just as invested in our day as we were. On the wedding day, her team was professional, warm, and seamless. Everything flowed perfectly, and we never had to worry about a thing. Alicia even gave me tips on how to hold my flowers so my dress could be seen. We are so, so glad we chose her--she played such a huge role in making our day feel special. If you go with Toast (which I highly recommend) please invite me to your wedding, corporate event, party etc...I'm a great guest and I promise not to go up for seconds. :)

Some even carried on discussion on how healthy the appetizers were. Cheat A Little selections were really a hit! The greenery/decor made a nice festive touch that seemed to invite folks over to have a coke or a little wine and cheer. We had a live acoustic musician playing in the background, and the whole time was bathed in warmth and good tidings. It was beyond enjoyable, delicious, and great. I warned him ahead of time that there would be many voices from our family offering their opinions left and right; well Chris handled all that like a pro! He didn't forget what the wedding couple wanted. He didn't let our family members steamroll over him. Come wedding day, I was hiding in a room somewhere w my husband away from the crowd and Chris secretly fed us signature cocktails and hors d'oeuvres. During reception, he had plates assembled for us so that we wouldn't go hungry. At the end of the night, his team packed us food to go!! Chris and his designer shoes were a godsend. The Chef too was absolutely amazing and gracious with the multiple changes our family made to the menu. Groom and I wanted an elevated Asian fusion menu that went beyond stereotypical panda express type of affair. We not only wanted to incorporate Chinese, Vietnamese, Burmese cuisines, we also threw in vegan, vegetarian, and rare spices that had to be procured from certain vendors. This, for a party of almost 300 people. Yes, we were THAT annoying. But Chris and Chef never gave up on us. We had 2 tastings including dessert/cake. I was so impressed with the tasting experience I thought, "what could top this??" Then on actual wedding day, to see all the incredible food assembled so beautifully for our guests, I was blown away. Food is one of those things people remember weddings by. It can make or break your guest experience. Give too little food and your guest will end up ordering take out to your venue to embarrass you (yes, I know of a wedding where that actually happened). Give older Asian family members mediocre food and they'll never let you live it down. I had countless guests come to me excitedly talking about how incredible the cocktail hour and reception dinner was. Nobody went hungry. Late night bites were also a hit! And can I just say, I have one of the most beautiful wedding cakes I've ever seen. Will be recommending this thoughtful company to everyone I know!
