Warm Cabbage Caesar Salad with Salmon.
Jocelin M.

Dear Margo is a nice addition to the UES. The service is attentive and friendly. The restaurant also has patio doors that allow indoor diners access to the outside. The best of both world, if you ask me. When you go, I highly recommend you order the Crispy Maitaki Mushrooms (not pictured). Skip the artichokes -- they're just okay. Also worth mentioning: the mezze platter was delicious (Beet/Cucumber Yogurt: A+) and the warm Cabbage Caesar was delightfully flavorful too. There's so much I need to try next time. Primarily, the Moroccan Cigars.

Chicken schnitzel entree.

Friends were able to snag a table at this impossible to get into restaurant. It's a unicorn. The space is cute. The crowd is a mix of instagrammers and geriatric UES residents. The staff are lovely. The food is mind blowing. The lafa bread was revelatory. The baba ghanoush and grilled artichokes were awesome. My wife really liked her branzino. The boss order in this restaurant may be the chicken schnitzel sandwich. It's big enough to share. It's accompanied by amazing chips and salad. I had the chicken schnitzel entree, in an attempt to stop eating bread. It was really good, but next time I'm getting the sandwich. There's complimentary Greek yogurt with toppings for dessert, which was just right. The prices are inexpensive for Manhattan. Something to note is that the pace of the meal moves quickly. It would be easy to be in and out of here in under an hour. My suggested strategy is to order something off the reasonably priced wine list, peruse the menu, order appetizers and wait a little while to order entrees. It's frustratingly hard to get a dinner reservation here, otherwise we would be regulars and explore the rest of the menu. In the meantime, it's reservation roulette.

From the beginning to the end, the service was wonderful! The vibes inside and outside were a great - we chose to sit outside because it was a nice day out & there was a good amount of outdoor and indoor seating available. For starters we got the trio of dips with the bread and it was good - we tried the hummus, baba & cucumber yogurt. They were good but nothing amazing, but the cucumber yogurt was definitely a standout. The chicken schnitzel was actually unreal & lived up to its hype!! The portion was very big so hope you're hungry or definitely a good to share entree. My friend got the falafel sandwich and said the falafel was pretty soft and flavorful. The complimentary frozen yogurt was delicious!! It's serviced with an orange marmalade and pistachio crumble and it was just perfect. Definitely recommend making a reservation as they are booked out for a month and walk in may be tough!

Cute spot. Came here for lunch and the menu is same as dinner. I can see this being a place for both. 3 of us and we were very full 3 Spreads with laffa bread - chickpea, baba ganoush, and beet. I was hoping it would be and explosion of flavor but quite standard. 4/5 Duo falafel - the sweet potato was better than the original. 4.5/5 Spinach and Feta cigars - one of the better things we had. 5/5 Mediterr-Asian salad with chicken thigh skewer. Salad was good. Could have done without the chicken. Salad was a 5/5. Chicken was a 3.5/5 Chicken schnitzel sandwich - came with chips and salad. 4.5/5 Ribeye shawarma entree - came with rice and salad. Best thing we had. 5/5 Gave us complimentary dessert as well This place will be popular for quite some time

Despite the fact that our waitress seemed deeply offended by our presence from the moment we sat down, this was an exceptional meal. The spicy feta had just enough kick, the hummus was smooth and perfectly seasoned, and the schnitzel was crispy and delicious. The aioli was fantastic, and the salad on the side was so good I ate almost all of it off my fiancé's plate. The frozen yogurt at the end was such a great touch and some of the best I've had on the Upper East Side. The only reason I can't give five stars is the service. We barely interacted with our waitress beyond ordering and paying, but she was snippy with us and several tables around us. We ended up having a little camaraderie with the other tables over collectively being bullied in our corner of the restaurant. Funny in hindsight, but it definitely put a damper on an otherwise excellent meal.

Restaurant has great service. We've had the same waitress a couple of times and she's very attentive. Food is always on point and they give you delicious pita.

Cauliflower bowl. Tasty but not what I'd pictured.

Fresh, delicious, will return! I arrived at the beginning of their day with the 1130 reservation. There was already a line. We got a table inside. Good service and ambience, except for the noise levels and the dripping air conditioner above us. Reasonably price for great quality meal. After walking by and seeing the outside diner's tempting meals for weeks I'm glad I finally got to enjoy my own.

Did a walk in around 3:55 - and sat at the bar. The restaurant is beautiful and the food is delicious. Very affordable. Nice addition to the UES

Dear Margo is an excellent new spot to open on the ues. From the family of Avra you know its going to be great! The hot pita is outstanding. Service and staff are friendly and nice. great new addition to the neighborhood. Will definetly add this to the weekly rotation.

Loved everything about the place. The interior, the attitude of the staff, and the free complimentary dessert)) We got humus, beet spread, babaganush, Greek salad and ribeye shawarma. Everything was very tasty and nicely served. I strongly recommend.

Interesting menu, delicious food and beautiful interior. Definitely will come again, and get the bread and dips!

Great new neighborhood spot. Greek-Mediterranean food, great setting where Nieil's coffee shop used to be We tried various items, all were good and the service was very friendly and inviting. The big standouts were the fresh bread that came with the dips, the warm cabbage Caesar salad, the branzino which was perfectly executed and finally the complimentary frozen yogurt at the end which was fantastic.

The food is incredible and the service is top-notch in a setting that immerses you in Albanian history and hospitality. The menu is extensive and I found it helpful to ask the friendly servers their recommendations and suggestions. I really enjoyed the sesame baked cheese, mantia and sausage dip as appetizers and saved plenty of room for their mixed grill platter, which is generous and filling; ordering a salad along with their bread will complete any meal and you will leave more than satisfied by the taste and authenticity of all the dishes. Not just a meal but an experience!

It feels like you stepped into a rustic little house that a family lives in. We really appreciated that they were playing Albanian music. The food is so filling and heavy so pace yourself. My husband and I shared the pepper dip and the baked cheese appetizers, which come with freshly baked bread. Seriously delicious. For entrees, I got the tava kosi, which is an egg dish with two pieces of lamb. Honestly I didn't love it. It's a LOT of egg. The lamb pieces were delicious, but I was already so full that I could only have one piece. I wish it had a bit less egg and a bit more other things, but I know this is their national dish. My husband got the qofte shari. It was perfect. Cooked so well, the meat was spiced uniquely, even the fries were great. I think I just ordered the wrong thing! I would seriously love to return and try another clay dish. We finished off the meal with Albanian coffee, which was like Turkish coffee, but smoother and better. All in all, left so happy and full. Service was so attentive, too. Go here for a unique meal in the cutest little restaurant.

The staff was extremely warm, kind and welcoming and a special shoutout to Irem who was amazing, gave us some great recommendations and took care of us throughout. I went for the $39 prix fixe brunch which is honestly such a great deal and comes with quite a spread. I had the muhammara, hummus, shakshuka and dessert and thoroughly enjoyed my coffee too. We also ordered the tuna Niçoise salad, which is by far the best I have had ever. One of my friends was accidentally served the wrong order and they immediately replaced it with the right one and made her meal completely complimentary, which was such a nice gesture and something we really appreciated. We also loved that nobody was rushing us and we could just sit, chat and enjoy our brunch. Great food, beautiful ambiance, wonderful hospitality and even the restrooms were spotless and very well maintained. Overall such a positive experience and easily a 5/5 for me.

We started with the Hummus with Lamb, which was wonderfully creamy and complemented by the flavorful spiced meat. The Arnabeet Mekle (fried cauliflower) was another highlight, with a delicious combination of textures and flavors. The freshly baked pita bread was a great accompaniment to the appetizers. We also tried the Duck Shawarma, which was enjoyable and paired nicely with the creamy dipping sauce. The only dish that didn't quite work for me was the Mekanek (lamb sausages). While the sausages themselves were good, I found the pomegranate molasses sauce a little too tangy and sour, with the sharpness overpowering the other flavors. This was more a matter of personal preference than anything else. We finished with the Knafe Bil Jibneh, a lovely way to end the meal! Overall, a very enjoyable experience with beautifully presented Lebanese food and plenty of delicious options.

It was a very nice interior, with a trees and stained glass. We ordered the htipiti dip, za'atar flatbread, octopus, brussel sprouts, and shish taouk. Our favorite was the brussel sprouts. They came in a delicious lemon and yogurt sauce with pomegranate, and were very crispy. The octopus was also a standout. It was so tender, and not chewy like other octopus I've had. They told us that it's a 3 day process to make it. The htipiti spread was also very good. I liked the red peppers in it, and it went well with the warm pita and the olive oil and molasses. The flatbread had good flavor but was a bit too cheesy and oily for my liking. I also wasn't a huge fan of the shish taouk. There wasn't much that stood out about it, and it had very strong onion flavor. It was my birthday, and they had also moved us to another table halfway through the meal. As a result, they brought us two free desserts. The olive oil cake was delicious with the strawberry, mint, and whipped cream. The greek yogurt was also very unique, with fig and wine flavors and a sorbet on top. Overall, had a great birthday experience here!

Although I can't comment on the quality of food that I didn't eat, I will say that all of the dishes at the table were incredible simple and didn't feel particularly comprehensive or well thought out. For example, if you ordered an omelette you got a place with an egg on it. If you want potatoes that's extra and if you want sausage that's even extra. It just felt like every plate was not a full meal, it was just one item and you had to build your meal and pay extra if you wanted that. I am not interested in paying these prices and then I have to build the meal myself. My French toast was fine I guess. I order sausage and paid $9 for a singular sausage link on a plate with absolutely nothing special done to it. I can literally buy two packs of the same sausage for the same price. I don't recommend this place, I think they do the bare minimum.
