If only 0 stars was an option.... Please do not purchase a voucher for duct cleaning from this company. I did (through Amazon local - although the business name listed was Fresh Breeze Air Duct cleaning which actually has some decent reviews on Yelp). The technician who came to my home was polite, professional, on time, etc. so we got off to a great start. But he immediately started finding major things wrong with my heat system that made it "impossible" for him to clean the ducts. In total, over $700 of repairs (and I was "lucky my house hadn't burned down" because of my furnace). When I balked at the estimate, the price immediately dropped to $500. When I said I wanted to get some other estimates since this was the first I'd heard about the issues, his entire tone and demeanor changed and he got pretty aggressive. I felt nervous having him in our home at that point and asked him to leave without even putting things back together. Today I had a reputable heating service come in and take look. They agreed that some of the work should be done, but the total bill is going to be $300 and I just have a much better feeling about the quality of work. And, by the way, they told me that the work that needed to be done had nothing to do with being able to clean the ducts - it would have been fine for him to do that part. So in the end, I got $0 of value from my $69 voucher (which Amazon Local was good enough to refund). Just a really stressful morning. Save yourself the trouble! read more

Please listen to all of these reviews. This is definitely a BIG time scam goin on here (can't believe I got sucked into it , no pun intended). I would love to put these guys out of business... at least Amazon gave me my $49 dollars back, but I'm still out $150 for the additional 10 minutes of work they did on my 6 vents! Dean's has got some bad karma coming their way for sure!! I've never written a bad review for anything before but I REALLY don't want this to happen to another person. They don't even deserve 1 star. I've tried to contact them numerous times but to no avail. They were subcontracted by Duct Cleaning Services. I think this also reflects badly on them by the way. They were not helpful either. The tech was very friendly and nice. He worked quickly and was thorough with his explanations. I did have a similar experience to previous posting and the tech had clearly been instructed to try and upsell customers on additional services. I had purchased a $49 Groupon but was told by the tech it was just for a maintenance cleaning and would do 1% of what I needed to clean the ducts. I ended up spending $400 on a full duct (8 ducts) & furnace cleaning, in addition to the $49 Groupon. I wish I would've known the Groupon wasn't really much of a deal and not a full cleaning for the ducts. We desperately needed it since we had recently finished remodeling and also have pets. The heater is running better and is distributing air more equally out of each vent now. read more

PLEASE DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE! They will rip you off. In my case, which is similar to the other negative reviews here, the technicians Ben and Eli arrived at my house 1 hour early and proceeded to back up my driveway with their van running straight into my garage door. They put a dent a foot deep into the door and spent the next 1/2 hour trying to straighten and fix the dented panels. Almost 2 months later I am still trying to get my door fixed and I am going to file a small claims lawsuit against them, Duct Doctors and Oren Home Services to try to get resolution. We got a phone call offering unlimited supply vent cleaning with "negative pressure" and dryer vent cleaning, plus a furnace inspection, for $29. I told her that a well-known company had recently estimated over $600. She insisted that was no problem. When asked for the name of the company, the caller said. "Bay Area Heating and Air Conditioning." It turned out to be Dean's Services. I looked at Yelp reviews quickly, and we were on our guard. Thanks, reviewers! The technician came in, looked at the two vents in the living room, and asked if we'd had it cleaned before. When we said not since we'd lived there, he announced that it wouldn't do us any good to use the machine he had, but we would need to get the service with a rotating brush to clean out the dirt for around $35 per vent. My husband and I said, "No thanks" and he left. read more

I give it a one star because the minimum number of star is one. If there is a zero or negative star, it certainly would deserve it. Very bad and dishonest service. If they send you one of their worker named Ben, run away from him and refuse any service from him. He never returned to complete the job he had promised to perform. Called him three times and set up an appointment three times. I waited at home three times for him to show up to complete the job. He never showed up. He was only interested in selling me more over-priced service to make more money. They over-charged their service. I got it same as KE through Amazon Local/Fresh Breeze Air Duct cleaning. Instead I had them coming for the service and it was BAD NEWS since then. That is why now I delete Amazon Local e-mails from my box. I don't give out one stars often, but Dean's Home Services deserves this one star more than anything. If I could give them zero stars, I would but sadly this option is not available on Yelp. I have been without heat for two weeks now and they show no signs of fixing the problem they created anytime soon. Details below. Back in December, I purchased the Groupon special for cleaning my air ducts. The earliest opening was a month and half later towards the middle of January. It's a Groupon special and they're probably busy with the increased business. Well, January comes and the two team crew shows up. They immediately began opening up the ducts and said that my furnace needed to be cleaned as well. I saw the inside of it and yes, it was pretty dirty. An extra $200 for a 30-40 min cleaning of my furnace later and the air quality in my place immediately feels less dusty. However, right after their technicians leave, the furnace isn't outputting any heat and the fan circulating the house won't respond to command sent from the thermostat. The only way to turn it off or on is to manually flip the switch on the furnace. OK, so they accidentally hit or disconnected a wire, let's get them back here so they can fix it. I call them two days later and am informed by the receptionist that their computer systems are down and that they'll call me back as soon as possible. Great, talk to you soon. Two days pass, no call so I call them again. Another receptionist this time, "I'm so sorry about this! Let me text the boss and we'll figure this out." OK.... No calls again. I call them again and this time I'm more forward. By now I have been without heat for a week. I ask for the owner's number and name. I talk with him getting the same "Sorry about that, let me call you back and we'll figure this out." This time I do get a call back and we schedule a convenient time. They call me back 30 min later and ask to reschedule right during work. Alright, I don't want to leave but if it gets my furnace working again, I can live with that. I show up but their technician never does. I call the owner and he doesn't know where his technician is either. So we have to reschedule again for the weekend. At this point, I'm more than disappointed with their service and professionalism. Their schedule arrival time comes and goes and I have to call them, AGAIN! "Oh, I'm sorry about that. Our technician isn't available. Let me call you back and we'll figure this out *click*" No calls from them and any calls I make to them are now going to voice mail. Ugh. For their pricing, skill of their technicians, professionalism, reliability, and willingness to fix a problem that they caused, I am forced to give Dean's Home Services a one star, but zero stars would be more appropriate. Their receptionists are clueless, their technicians are mediocre at best, and their customer service is probably the worst I have ever had the misfortune of experiencing. Do not use them, even for the Groupon. I will be using other companies to repair my furnace now and I hope Dean's Home Services goes under soon. P.S. Does not merit even 1 star. BEWARE: DO NOT USE THESE COMPANIES: FRESH BREEZE AIR DUCT CLEANING OR DEAN'S HOME SERVICES -- They are deceptive and unscrupulous vendors. I wish I had read Yelp prior to ordering - I agree with all comments of "rip-off" service found under both names. Via Amazon Local, I paid $69 for the service advertised: "FRESH BREEZE AIR DUCT CLEANING: One Complete HVAC Cleaning including: Cleaning of Unlimited Supply Vents, One Main Duct and One Return Vent, Dryer Vent Cleaning, and Furnace Inspection". Fortunately Amazon Local refunded my $69 but I am still out the $200 I foolishly paid and now after reading the reviews, I am concerned about the quality of work that was performed. I am surprised that Amazon Local does not check out vendors that they advertise. Upon arrival of the Fresh Breeze Air Duct Cleaning (actually a contractor called DEAN'S HOME SERVICES) 2-man work crew, we were told that because this was an extensive cleaning, not simply a regular maintenance cleaning, it would be $35 per vent (we have 7 vents). Initially they were not going to credit any part of my $69 payment made to secure this service. After my husband spoke with the supervisor, we agreed to a revised slightly lower price. Additionally, we were told that the Voucher was for "maintenance" only. None of the information in the Voucher indicated that was a requirement for the $69 price. As a matter of fact the Voucher indicates the "Total Value": $229.00. We were billed $200. When the crew inspected the furnace (which was new one year ago) they advised that a regular cleaning would be an additional $190 and we should have the metal filter installed for an additional approximate $150. The work crew obviously had been instructed to try to upgrade services sold and was doing as told. The next surprise was they did NOT intend to clean the Dryer Vent. I showed the Voucher summary to the worker and pointed out where the dryer vent was included. He then told me it was only a short vent hose to the outside (i.e., the worker explained, no problem, due to short vent line it did not need cleaning). When I insisted it be cleaned, the crew then did in fact clean out the dryer vent. They were apparently under the impression that was not an included service. I provided a copy of my Voucher with the details when they arrived and a copy to take with them when they left. Furthermore, this company would only accept cash or check - no credit cards - another surprise. That policy was not posted in the Voucher details or mentioned before work began. Also the check was made payable to a company by the name of DEAN'S HOME SERVICES, not "Fresh Breeze Air Duct Cleaning" as advertised. An additional note: the work crew was under the impression this was a "Groupon $45 cleaning". The workmen were very nice and did their job efficiently but were not willing to deviate from the "script" provided by their boss. There was a significant language barrier as well which made communication extremely difficult. This is a nasty case of "BAIT & SWITCH". Yes, our ducts were dirty and needed to be cleaned. The furnace did have dust even though only a year old. I was not prepared to pay these exorbitant additional suggested charges to include furnace cleaning. Thankfully after reading about damages occurred to other households' furnaces after supposedly cleaning them I did not have it done. However, I did not receive the service as advertised on my Voucher and by Amazon Local. read more

Wife went for the $49 dollar air duct cleaning with Pacific Breeze through Group on. This Dean's outfit comes out as the sub contractor. Read Tres W's review and that about tells the whole experience that we have had we these guys, but, I will try and add some more fun as I currently have some time as I am sitting at home waiting for a heating service company to come and fix the furnace that was working just fine before these clowns opened up and tried to clean it. (read Cliff D's review) Onward...they up charged wife for putting some kind of anti bacterial anti fungal agent in ducts (suggest you google that little scam) I finally got a hold of some guy at Dean's to ask what agents were used as first of all didn't want something that would hurt us and secondly wanted to know if it would work. (again google) Well the guy puts on some women who says they get ingredients and produce themselves. I ask if it is EPA approved. Her answer...she says they are safe, no problem and not to worry about EPA approval. I again ask to know what these are. She says they will text me ingredients on Monday. Tuesday I call and ask where is the text. I finally get some link to a website that takes me to a company that has a product that is EPA approved. (that's weird, she said they make their own concoction) At this point I very much distrust these guys (read Tres W's review) and ask for a picture of this product...this time out of their inventory...I knew that wasn't happening and of course it didn't. So, bottom line is they charged my $500.00 (checked cashed in matter of minutes) and who knows what furnace will cost for doing.... pretty much nothing. I thought at my age I was beyond being scammed but believe me it can happen. Stay away from Pacific Breeze and Dean's at all cost cause you WILL BE RIPPED OFF. I'm only taking the time to write this as I do not want to see this happen to anyone else. Oh and I almost forgot the best part...Guy on phone from Dean's tells me I'm a baby for complaining about the service and the $500.00.....If only I could give a minus star.
