The man in the store that day had a cute baby with him, so it's nice to see a family business like that! Just a warning though: Before entering there was a lot of 'warning' signs. One went on about not using the porch swing inappropriately and being sued. We just figured it was a funny sign. I didn't bother taking a picture. It pretty well reflected the vibe of the store though. The man seemed a little uncomfortable that we were there and looking at the stuff for sale. We greeted him and he was cold? I figured he was stressed with his child? It is a tiny shop out in the country though, so it's something I should have considered before stopping. The shop is also an antique store and had some uncomfortable items for sale like a rebel confederate civil war uniform, a few ancient-looking rusty locks, and a piece of money that looked like it was covered in blood (not sure what that was about?). I felt others might find these details important. I didn't feel comfortable taking photos because I felt like I was being watched and didn't want the man to feel like we were 'reporting' him or something (??), esp being in the middle of a town where we knew no one. eek kinda scared even to write this review :(

Southern people are known for their hospitality and owner. Bobby Wagner, is as good as they get. When you get a hankering for some really good ice cream, stop by. (WALA) - Malary and Ryan Goldman, owners of The Local Scoop Ice Cream Shoppe, were arrested Thursday night and charged with misdemeanor harassment and criminal mischief. The charges stem from a June 7 encounter with Daniel Smitt, a customer who left a one-star Google review of the business on its grand opening in March. "I didn't think nothing of it until I was reminded 3 months later," Smitt said. Smitt said he was working as a food delivery driver when Malary Goldman recognized him at a stoplight and asked to speak with him about the review. He agreed to meet her at a McDonald's parking lot after finishing a delivery stop, but said the conversation quickly turned hostile. Video shows Ryan Goldman arriving at the scene and joining the exchange. Smitt said he started recording and claims Goldman then knocked the phone from his hand and stomped on it. The video spread on Facebook, drawing hundreds of thousands of views. "I've been reached out to by the brand that supplies the icecream for the icecream shop and they told me they're no longer going to do business with them," Smitt said. Smitt said he is ready to move forward. "I hate that this all happened you know. At the end of the day I said some things in that video I'm not proud of. I'm going to learn from this and move on," he said. Malary and Ryan Goldman did not respond to a request for comment. Jail records show the Goldmans were arrested Thursday, June 11, and released from Baldwin County Jail the following day. Jail records do not show a court date has been set. The business's Google page shows The Local Scoop is still open. And needs to go out of business.
