My Husband and I are new to the area, and my Husband bought earrings and a necklace there within 6 months. The necklace was an anniversary gift/ having our first child soon. I had the necklace a whole two weeks before our home was broken into. The robbers took everything including every piece of jewelry I wasn't wearing that day. I went into Dean's to replace the exact necklace 1 month later. Not only would they not give any type of discount per the circumstances, they actually wanted $70 more because they said gold prices went up. Since the average mark-up on jewelry is 100-300% I am completely disgusted they were not willing to take a small profit to show a little compassion to the situation. No the insurance would not cover this due to I went over the $2,500 maximum pay out with my Great Grandmother's rings being stolen. read more
