Every staff member I met was friendly, kind, and full of good energy--especially comforting during the surgery when I felt some apprehension. The follow-up visit was just as thoughtful and easy. On top of that, the procedure was more affordable than quotes I'd received on the mainland, and they didn't tack on any crazy emergency fees. I was very impressed with my entire visit; the office staff and technicians were very pleasant to work with, all the new dental diagnostic equipment was amazing to see. Dr. Spader was very thorough and wonderful, taking time to explain his examination, and answer all my questions. And Charlie, the Service Animal, came around to visit me, to make sure everything was good. I would definitely recommend Dr. Spader and his office to everyone. But they are so so so good. They are calm and relaxing and put you at ease. They also don't seem to push things you don't immediately need. I don't have dental insurance and it costs an arm and a leg. So we did everything that was necessary only. They are honest and kind and even have their own form of dental insurance plans which is amazing.

Dr Lau is amazing too but he currently doesn't see new patients. Heardon and Vargas do perfect dental work and only prescribe the treatment necessary for good dental health. I had a crown done recently and Heardon was spot on. Even though my old crown was a mess she figured out how to remove it with ease. Don't like dentist? Go here, the staff are all great too- everyone's wants you to experience the best care when you have a dental visit. I won't go anywhere else on the island.

The 1-star rating is for the very rude, unprofessional, very "catty" like attitude that Elysa the front receptionist gave me over the phone (3 separate times about different occasions over a few months total) and the face to face communication and interactions I had with her in the office, as well. I do not take my time to write 1-star reviews ever so this really upset me as I come from a customer service background myself and know the power that attitude, friendliness, kindness and appreciation really means to people when it comes to service. She does not seem happy to be working and does not seem to care about customer service kindness and friendly attitude. She honestly doesn't seem to care at all. Not sure how she is allowed to talk to people like that but even while sitting in the office lobby and listening to how she speaks to other people over the phone and checking them in in-person, she has this attitude towards everyone. She is the reason I chose to take my insurance elsewhere to find a dentist where I feel appreciated and spoken to kindly by all the staff. Kamalei the dental assistant is amazing, so kind, caring, knowledgeable and friendly and represents what all customer service workers should entail, which would most importantly be the type of attitude you would want with the front receptionist and person answering all your office's phone calls to bring you more business. That's not the norm nowadays so I appreciate how well I'm treated over the phone as well as at the front desk. In fact, I visited another office that I would never go back to based on how rude the woman at the front desk was. The office is equipped with top of the line equipment and it's kept immaculate. The dental hygienist are thorough and I'm very pleased with the results of my cleanings. About Dr. Mike, he has a sense of humor and is personable. I felt confident with him and his proficiency from my very first visit. He is thorough in his examinations, and explains to you while showing you on your films, what your dental issues are and he discusses with you a treatment plan to include an estimate of the services needed before you begin the work. I've never felt any discomfort, pain, or anxiety while Dr. Mike is working on my teeth, and I am always pleased with his work. I just so happen to have needed to have very extensive work so I visited with three other dentist on the island, and although two others were quite good, I've chosen to stay with Dr. Mike. I have every confidence in him and his office. I highly recommend Dr. Michael Miyamoto :)

I went to Yoneda in person and the receptionist was franky unfriendly. I signed the form and hope they sent the records to my new dentist. Pity as they were so friendly and helpful until they were out of network for me.
