I didn't know who Dr. Fredrick was until I read my hospital notes. I remember he was always direct…read morebut kind with me whilst I was in the ICU. What I remember most about him is he always asking for my tv remote :0) to turn down the volume b/c I was using tv as a distraction of being very scared in the ICU. I apologize for having the volume up when you guys came in for your morning consults. Thank you for the great care and kindness you gave me Dr. Frederick I have never forgotten about that even though it was last year.

One of the few things that can comfort a person when they're their most frightened is someone who…read morecarries an innate calm, confidence, and intelligence. That person is Dr Frederick. Dr Frederick and his staff are some of the finest medical professionals I've met, let alone been a patient of. I've been seeing him for over a year now for my autoimmune liver disease and he has been the most reassuring, encouraging, helpful Physician I've seen during this process. His staff are professional and meticulous. If you're a bit scatterbrained like myself, they'll send you helpful reminders and phone calls regarding your upcoming appointment. If your refills run low, it's a quick phone call and an almost instant refill. Most importantly, Dr Frederick takes to heart your unique case. He's unafraid of reaching out to colleagues for input and will utilize all possible avenues to achieve an understanding of what's ailing you and what's most likely to help. I am a very appreciative patient of Dr Frederick's. I know his job must be extremely taxing and stressful, but he makes the effort to appear calm and reassuring in all of his encounters. It's the part of being a physician that can't be taught in a classroom. Even when news of my condition isn't the most positive, he does his best to infuse hope into his explanations. I only wish I could do more to express my gratitude.

One does not expected to leave the office of a gastroenterologist to feel delighted, However, that…read morewas how I felt after seeing him. As someone who uses a HMO plan, I am accustomed to assembly line health care, care that is impersonal and time efficient Not only is Dr. Conlin personable. He gives patients the respect of making sure his patients are well-informed. Unlike the prior doctor, he spent time discussing how this colonoscopy could be more successful than the one I had a few months prior. It turns out a diet that is heavy on nuts, should be avoided for a week before 'the cleaning." My last doctor simply wrote that I had prepared poorly and I was rescheduled to go through the horrendous process of fasting and drinking a nauseating prep. This informed me I was poorly prepared rather than prepared poorly. Moreover, he provided printed information that helped my address other concerns. I wish to also thank his front desk for her persistence and forgiveness of my failure to respond to her efforts to contact me. I apologize for not having her name It has been several years since I met them but coming seeing them is like visiting friends. So yes. It is possible to have an uplifting visit to a gastroenterologist

I went to Dr Stollman for a routine colonoscopy sceening at East Bay Endosurgery Center. EBEC has a…read moreseparate Yelp page, so this is just for Dr. Stollman. My experience was about as good as I imagined for a colonoscopy. Dr. Stollman was very professional and friendly, delivered information at an appropriate level, and was flexible to my preferences. I wanted to do the procedure without sedation (propofol), and the nurse I talked to a couple days before the procedure cleared it with Dr. Stollman. That was a neutral experience. Nice that I didn't get any pushback. But not sure I really got a full risks/benefits discussion--the nurse just focused on the risks. Understandably so, since I explained how I thought I would benefit (eg, faster recovery, memory of the experience). But other potential risks/benefits, like safety, never came up. And I still had to get an IV in the hand (presumably so I could be rapidly sedated if the procedure proved too uncomfortable), which was probably the worst part of the whole experience. The full IV bag just went in the trash after I was done. For whatever reason, Dr Stollman wasn't available to do my procedure at the appointed time, so during intake I was offered a different doc. I had already cleared my afternoon, and was able to reschedule my ride home, so I chose to wait instead (bring a book!). I cooled my heels for an additional hour or so. Not sure I can put this on Dr Stollman. Stuff comes up. And the people managing his schedule (ie, EBEC) have their own Yelp page. The procedure went well. Obviously doing this for years, Dr Stollman seemed very adept and efficient. He narrated throughout the procedure, much like a tour guide, which I really appreciated (he did offer a more silent experience, which I declined). I also feel like he did a thorough job. Dr Stollman gave me a written report at the end of the procedure, including color pictures. Perhaps that's standard (rather than just sending to my primary), but I still appreciated it. Overall, I would definitely recommend Dr Stollman. He was the highlight of my experience at EBEC, and I would definitely ask for him again.
