The issue is not Dr. Bodor, it is the staff and the office's new business model. I have been a…read morepatient of Dr. Bodor's since shortly after the pandemic. I appreciated everything about my interactions with her. Back then, she actually responded to most of the messages I sent through the MyChart portal. I could also, typically, get a live person on the phone. Or if I left a message, I could get a relatively prompt reply. I re-initiated care after a year or two and things have changed drastically. Dr. Bodor no longer responds to messages, the staff do that. And when they respond their replies are terse and usually don't address the matter your trying to resolve. Recently, Dr. Bodor referred me to specialists and when I went into the portal to check updates about my referrals, the messages were completely unhelpful. The messages said: "Complete as directed by your provider...Contact your organization for instructions on how to complete this test or procedure." So I tried to send a message for clarification and I was unable to send a message from MyChart. It was only after several failed attempts that I learned Dr. Bodor's office had transitioned to a different patient portal. There was ZERO notification of this. So I called the office to get clarification. The woman who I spoke with told me to make an appointment with the specialists and provide this information to the office so they could add it to the referrals. I did that. Over a week ago, I sent a message (through the new portal) with the appointment and doctor information, and I left a voicemail. I still haven't gotten a response. I have an appointment with one of the specialists tomorrow and still haven't received confirmation from Dr. Bodor's office that they have received the information I provided and that I am all set to keep the appointment. Do I cancel it? Do I go and risk wasting my time all to find out they don't have my referral? When you are unwell and you just want to get better, you should not have to worry about any of this. With all of the healthcare options available these days, you would think physicians' offices would strive to support patients in need of their care. But no. This abysmal conduct is unacceptable. Open enrollment is coming in the fall. I am searching for a new doctor.

She appears to be knowledgeable and competent, and I believe her initial clinical impressions of my symptoms may very well have been accurate. She also ordered the lab work I requested, which I appreciated. However, what stayed with me most was not the medical advice itself, but how I felt during the interaction. I left feeling patronized, judged, and disappointed by what I experienced as a lack of empathy and consideration in her tone and demeanor. There is nothing wrong with being direct, and I understand that physicians may disagree with a patient's own interpretation of their symptoms. But those conversations can still be handled with warmth, curiosity, and compassion--especially in a primary care setting where patients often arrive feeling vulnerable or anxious. My impression was that the communication style lacked that sense of empathy. Rather than leaving the appointment feeling informed and supported, I left feeling emotionally deflated and without any particularly meaningful insight beyond having my requested lab work ordered. I don't believe Dr. Womack-Batzdorf is a bad doctor or a bad person. She may simply have a communication style that works better for some patients than others. For me, though, the interaction left me feeling unheard and emotionally sensitive at a time when I was seeking both medical guidance and compassionate care.

She didn't read my chart and completely missed a pretty life-threatening issue. Just kept telling me to eat chicken soup. On a subsequent different appointment online she didn't even ask me what my temperature was. She was completely unhelpful, cold, and rude. Avoid!

I have a complicated medical history spread among many doctors, and Sarah quickly became the nerve center of my network of care. I sent her all my records and updated her on everything that was happening, and I was able to trust her to be the one looking at the big picture of my health. I think this is what primary care is actually supposed to be like! As a doctor, Sarah has many qualities that built my trust. She treated me like an adult, listening thoughtfully, explaining issues at the right level of detail, giving me both her recommendation and the information I needed to decide for myself. She stays up to date on the latest science and gives evidence-based advice. She's not afraid to say when she doesn't know something offhand, and quickly follows up with expert research. She has a great network of specialists and referred me to a number of excellent practitioners. On lifestyle issues, she struck a good balance between meeting me where I was, and giving me a push to take care of myself better. And on sensitive topics, her calm, straightforward, non-judgmental demeanor made me feel comfortable. Working with Sarah has had a major long-term positive impact on my health and quality of life. Strongly recommend.

I went to Dr Hana because of these great reviews on yelp, and because I wanted to see someone who had the expertise of a medical doctor but wasn't attached to western medicine and had a holistic understanding of the body. He very much lived up to the praise that's here on yelp - he is a very attentive, gentle and caring doctor who really wants to understand the whole picture, not look for a quick fix. Unfortunately his prognosis for me didn't have a quick fix for it, and that was upsetting/frustrating for me, but it wasn't his fault and it was ultimately really helpful information for me. But as we were talking about what I should do to work to strengthen the parts of my body that are causing the pain in my legs, he was very aware that I didn't feel satisfied with his answer or that I wasn't sure I was going to get better and he stayed next to me talking it through, he didn't leave after he gave me the answer (that I had a good amount of long-term work to do) to leave me to figure it out on my own. I found that level of care to be pretty unprecedented. He also listened as I was a little angsty talking about what treatments I was hoping to get and after listening gave me some samples of remedies that were up the alley of what I was hoping for, even though it wasn't the long term solution. That level of care and flexibility is really rare. I really trust him and trust is the #1 thing for me with getting support from medical providers/healers. He'll definitely be the one I go to if I'm in town again and dealing with a body issue. Also the nurse who works the front desk (I forget her name!) was very helpful and kind as well!
