After 7 years being a patient of Dr. Ross I have made room for an opening .
I was struck down with ovarian cancer stage 4 developed under his care due to sloppiness and sheer oversight of Dr. Ross, whom I entrusted my health.
I would seriously consider committing myself to him unless you want to experience a 50-something year old physician whose casual and confident manner is a cover for extreme negligence! In fact, more patients should consider leaving him for fear serious medical issue are overlooked and leave the patient in crisis, as is was happened to me.
There is no history of cancer in my family. My background is one of vitality, daily exercise -hiking and 5 days a week swimming, happiness, superb nutrition, family and professional fulfillment.
Mid 2013, I visited his associate Dr. DeMott (Dr. Ross was on vacation), complaining of an uncomfortable bloating and larger belly than normal. She suggested a pap smear.... !
Dr Moitt knew I was very concerned and I would have thought Dr. Ross would follow up on me; however, no action was taken on his part. Dr. Ross missed the opportunity to refer me at least at that time to a gynecologist. My cancer might have been discovered earlier and spreading would have been avoided.
November 2013 I visited Dr. Ross again, complaining of swelling and bloating in my abdomen. His comment: -I am a the picture of health, that my blood tests were "wonderful" and that at my age I might be lactose intolerant, and I should return in 8 days after avoiding milk, yogurt, cheese, etc. At the follow-up visit with no sign of improvement, he looked at me with a charming smile, and re-affirmed me that I am healthy. At that point I felt something terrible happening in me. Giving birth to four sons 45 years ago, I prided myself in always being slim. My condition was very alarming to me. After waiting one hour seeing him for a follow-up visit, -talking without resolution. I am not hypochondriac, however, at that time demanded an ultra-sound.
The result came quickly -sure enough a large mass was detected. He immediately referred me to a surgeon and I have never heard from Dr. Ross since. I'm sure he was very shocked by overseeing something that was clearly life threatening.
An 8 lb. malignant tumor was removed. I've endured 7 rounds of chemotherapy with more to come. Now, I do not want to be silent and I have to speak up.
My oncologist marvels my strength and health while I am recovering from a massive surgery. Each visit she called me her A+ patient. I attribute this to her attentiveness, and my healthy life style. My family and I especially wonder in sadness if my cancer would have developed to Stage 4, if Dr. Ross had taken my first complains seriously.
In Dr. Ross' you will find a funny and nice doctor. However, prepare yourself, ---study medicine- and question his judgment about anything related to your personal health. I found his lack of professional expertise and sincerity is largely compensated by charm, jokes and funniness.
