My husband and I had a friend who purchased a house with Judy and Dean in Highland Park and recommended them to us. The first day we met with them we went over everything we wanted - lots of green outdoor space, a great view, built-ins, vintage details, a practice space to play music in, close to restaurants and shops, etc... it was a tall order for our budget, especially since we were first-time homebuyers, but they were enthusiastic to get cracking.
Together they have 20+ years of experience in the LA area and an understanding of the aesthetic we were looking for, which helped us sift through the piles of listings to find the perfect home. They also knew when to dissuade us from buying a money pit... Judy talked me out of one home we saw that had an amazing view, but as she pointed out - no street parking, a sketchy foundation, and a crumbling retaining wall 4 feet away from the house. I am grateful for her keen eye, which saved us from the heartache of having to discover these issues during a home inspection. Their honesty and insight are invaluable. They never tried to sugar-coat, pressure, or charm us into any home in order to seal a deal, but were instead patient, upfront and on-point with their ballpark estimates of what certain improvements and repairs would cost.... which means when they say they love a particular house, you know they mean it! And because they work as a team, one of them was always available for anything we needed, which came in especially handy when we did find the perfect home and put in an offer... from explaining paperwork to meeting with inspectors at the house when we couldn't take time off work to be there.
We highly recommend Dean and Judy to anyone looking for an excellent realtor. As for our dream home, we just closed escrow a couple weeks ago and are moving into it at the end of the month! And Dean was so thoughtful, when we got the keys he said we can call him any time to ask him for home improvement advice, which was, ya know... comforting to hear : ) Especially since my husband and I are basically carbon copies of that young couple from the Lowe's 'training" commercial - we barely know our "righty tighty".
All our friends who have come to see the house go nuts over the cute details and the breathtaking views. We got everything we asked for on our wishlist, and we couldn't have done it all without Dean and Judy's dedication to helping us find "the one". LOVE LOVE LOVE THEM! read more
