I'm basically a regular here. I even bought the t-shirt. Fair warning though, it mysteriously shrinks after a few washes (or maybe the food here is just that good at making my waistline expand? The jury is still out). I genuinely like this place, but my latest visit was a gentle reminder that even the greats have their off nights. We grabbed a spot on the outdoor patio, which is great because there are tons of TVs playing sports to keep you entertained. And you're going to need that entertainment, because the vibe this particular evening was heavily operating on "island time." I started to wonder if our server had to physically row to an island to get our order. It was a very long wait just to be acknowledged, and an even longer wait for drinks. Funniest part? My beer arrived well before my water. I was incredibly parched, and while I appreciate a cold brew, I didn't exactly want to shotgun my beer just to survive the drought. The tap water finally made its grand, triumphant entrance a solid 20 minutes after we sat down. When it came time to order, we met the Upcharge Enthusiast. Here's the deal: burgers come with rice and beans by default. If you want Bob's fries, that's a $2 upcharge. I tried to shoot for the stars and upgrade to onion rings. The response? A firm, almost offended no. "Those are an appetizer," I was informed. Honestly, our server seemed to derive a bizarre, villainous amount of joy from telling me things were an upcharge. Hey, whatever brings you happiness, just take my two dollars and make the fries happen. After the drinks took a serious scenic route, the food came blazingly fast out of the kitchen, but when it finally arrived...wow. The burgers here are absolute behemoths. You literally have to unhinge your jaw like an anaconda to take a bite. I have to admit, they are undeniably amazing. One bite almost makes you forget you spent the first half of the evening contemplating drinking water out of a patio planter. Pro-tip: Bring paper money! They give you a nice little discount if you pay in cash. Overall, I still really like this joint. Every restaurant is allowed to have a rough service night every now and then, and this just happened to be one of them. I'll definitely be back although I just might pre-hydrate in the parking lot next time. read more

Went to the new location of Dead Bob's over the weekend. Overall fun environment and lots of locals. Definitely lively place that is very loud as the acoustics are not great. Salad and wings were pretty good but neither the best there are in St. Pete. Overall service was attentive but they were very busy so it was rushed and it felt that way. They messed up the initial salad order but were quick to fix it by bringing another one. I will probably bring some out of town buddies here at some point but my lady and I will not be making it a regular stop on the rotation. Feels like more of a guy's bar that's just a fun place to hang out and drink beer. read more

This would have been a 5 star review if the kitchen hadn't screwed up my order 2X. I'll get to that in a bit. Heard a lot of good things about Dead Bob's. My wing man Gary suggested we have lunch here. The parking lot was FULL. I managed to snag the very last spot. Gary uses a walker and it's hard for him to climb onto the high chairs here, but fortunately there are 2 tables at normal height on the patio at the new upscale location. They are Going after the tourist and snow-bird dollar. The hamburgers are what every one raves about, so that's what I ordered. I started with the soup du jour Lobster Bisque ($5.97). It was ok, but nothing special. Then I got the Bleu Bob Burger ($13.57). I told the waitress No Tomato, and substituted the rice and beans with French fries for an extra $2. I watched her write it down. The kitchen waiter delivered a burger with tomato. I sent it back, and Gary was practically finished with his Philly Cheese when I got my meal. No tomato, but no fries either. The meal was not delivered to the table by our waitress or she would have noticed the mistakes. Was almost finished with my burger (Which was fantastic) when my fries arrived. The waitress was apologetic and didn't charge me the $2 for the fries. But still it was frustrating. Obviously they are still experiencing some teething problems at the new location. If the burger, when it finally arrived, hadn't been exceptional they would have gotten even fewer stars. I'll give them a while to get used to their new location and give them a chance at that 5th star. read more

Date of Visit: 01-24-2026 3pm The wife and I were running our errands and forgot all about lunch. On our way home we had Dead Bobs on the left and a spot out front. This is the new location on central, perhaps the same size overall as the other and just as challenging to park. We lucked out on this day, this being our second time here. The first visit was just for drinks. This time we are hungry. We even lucked out when we walked in, few open spots at the bar. The place was busy just like any other time, but it didn't take long to get the attention of the bar tender. Drink orders taken and menus received. I have eaten at the previous location and food was good, first time here. Looked over the menu and decided on the Philly Bob, cheeseburger with shaved rib-eye and onions. The wife also had the fever, she ordered the Philly Egg Rolls and fries. For as many people that were there it really didn't take too long for our food to arrive. The Philly Bob came and it looked great. Not one for a mash up cheeseburger, these two came together well and done just right. The only thing I would have liked is regular fries, these were a coated kind like Checkers. The wife said her egg rolls were awesome as well with a cheese dipping sauce. I was so involved with my burger I never gave her egg rolls a try, and what was not finished she took home and didn't share. And by the way, one order of fries is enough for two. Since it is a new location for them it's pretty clean and well maintained. We will be back to try the rest of the menu. Peace. read more

Dead Bobs has a vibe that perfectly matches its name. We came here off a recommendation for a local and it was definitely an experience. This is a classic old dive bar in St. Pete- it's loud, a bit rowdy and not the cleanest. There are funny signs all over and yes, Dead Bob is actually a person utilized in their logo and branding. We came for brunch one morning which I imagine was a little tamer than other times, but it was still super busy. It gets crammed when it's busy. Service was a little slow but we enjoyed our meals. It was standard breakfast food, a small menu. The best part was definitely the prices, probably the cheapest meal we had all weekend around Treasure Island area. read more

We finally got to check out the new location. It's easy bigger and has a more sports bar vibe. We tried the daily special ossobuco with broccoli and mashed potatoes and it was very good and incredibly well priced at around $20. I really love their garlic broccoli and always get it as my side. We also tried their chopped cheese sandwich and I think my husband thought it'd be more of a burger, but it wasn't. It was kind of like a burger cheesesteak. Still good with lots of meat and cheese though. read more

Dead bobs has been a staple for me in my time living in St Pete and I haven't been in awhile but decided to check out their new location when I heard it opened up. It's only been open a few weeks but I was able to find a spot at the bar which is much bigger than the OG location. I do miss the hole in the wall feel but it's definitely easier to find a place to sit. They still have their signature bottled beer and drinks in styrofoam cups with decent prices. I got the fried Mac and cheese, no bones chicken with Thai BBQ and a wedge salad to go. The fried Mac and cheese had really thick breading but was still good, the wedge was insane for the price and the boneless chicken you can tell is hand breaded. Sometimes service can be a bit slow just because of how busy it is but everything came out in timely manner. Definitely will be back! read more

New everything, great fresh start from the old location for sure. Tigjt parking. Clean and fresh and open layout. Food is good to very good!!! Staff is trained well and good teamwork, some are very good. Strong local customer base, gets crowded quick in afternoon and alot of bougie attitudes from local regulars that's less than friendly for some reason? Three times waiting to order at busy bar I've been "challenged" by some over-testosteroned posturing "local" ego flexing for whatever reason. I'll take my money away from the swordfight to a place with more chill clientele for now. P.S. I'm 5th gen so no shade yeet on locals, just don't act like you're royalty because you know an owner and have a lifted golf cart. ROFL. read more

When everyone else is closed, you can rely on Dead Bob's to be open until 2 or 3 AM depending on the day of the week. I am not a particular fan of the music that they play, but I do love the new location that they have opened up. They have a nice menu selection and overall it is pretty tasty. I have dined at this establishment three or four times. The last time that I visited, the person that I went with told me their fish was undercooked and flavorless. That was definitely a turn off for them. I highly recommend the Crab Rangoon . The sweet chili sauce tastes like it is homemade. It is the perfect pairing. Their wings are also very good and they are willing to accommodate requests. The person that I went with asked them to fry the chicken plain and toss it in the sweet Thai chili sauce and they were willing to accommodate. I ordered a shrimp Caesar salad and I definitely think it is worth the price. The bowl definitely looked like something you would get out of prison and the person that I went with remarked that it was actually a sauce bowl for food preparation. We had a good laugh over it. Either way, I love coming to this establishment and I do not see myself stopping anytime soon even amid some of the negatives. read more

We ordered three appetizers and only two came out, yet we were charged for all three and had to prove we never received the third. The food that did arrive was cold, like it had been sitting out for a while. The rice was very hard and unbeatable. We also ordered a round of drinks that never came, but of course, they were still on the bill. Once again, we had to argue to get the charges removed. I accidentally left my hoodie and tried calling, only to find out they don't have a phone line, which I find very odd. I drove 20 minutes back (my fault), just to be told that no one would assist me in looking for my item. To top it off, I ordered a burger to go and got home to find a wrap of some sort instead, which I'm sure costs far less than what I paid for. No dogs allowed on the patio. Doors and windows were open, nice breeze but cigarette smell wafted in. Mostly tall uncomfortable tall bar seats. Only two normal tables for people who can't sit at tall tables. No sweet tea. They use Styrofoam cups. Enjoyed the classic rock music they played. I enjoyed my cuban plate. My companion did not enjoy her chicken parmasion. They do not use any of the delivery services. And the staff stood around talking while my water cup remained empty. read more

As soon as we entered, we both thought this is exactly like a high end Willie's! Willie's was the greatest dive bar and best burger on St. Pete beach. It didn't make it thru hurricane Helene. Though much bigger and a lot more modern, the building is configured just like Willies. And I must say the burger was just as good also! Our server has excellent. This place is a super casual dining and drinking spot, emphasis on the drinking. It's a lively atmosphere where it may be hard to hear as there is music and interactions at all times. We came in on a Saturday afternoon to have lunch and it was a very busy spot. We were seated inside and were able to view the many TVs they have with sport actively playing. We ordered our drinks and selected the fish dip appetizer. It was tasty, but we had to ask for plates and utensils. My guy ordered wings and french fries for his meal and I ordered the Greek gyro salad subbing grilled chicken with no onions. The salad was completely incorrect when brought out. There were onions and it was with gyro meat not grilled chicken. We alerted the server and they readily made action to correct this. The bar manager even brought us a free round of drinks to make up for the incorrect order delivery. The french fries were super crisp and tasty and the grilled chicken was also very very good. Although the timing of our order wasn't great, they did all they could to correct the error. Super lively spot with great people watching and the food prices are incredibly reasonable for the serving sizes. read more

This place is fantastic! The atmosphere is definitely FL tropical (I feel a Hawaii vibe). Inside and outside bar seating; limited seating. The us delicious and you get your money's worth with portion size. This is a local favorite so the place is always packed! Expect a wait at least 30 mins for small parties (2-4) but it worth the wait. Even though they are busy the service is still good! "Bob" is a real person whose picture still graces the wall. I never had the pleasure to meet him but from the crowd that still frequents his restaurant he must have been an incredible man! read more

Chopped Cheese The place is populated by locals, and is in a strip mall tucked in the corner with a small sign. WORTH the time to find! Fantastic food, great daily specials. Very cool lively atmosphere. The seating is bar height and the room is encircled by TVs playing various sporting events. It was pretty loud. We had wings and a glorious chopped cheese sub, perfectly assembled. Sometimes a chopped cheese is not dine correctly, here it is. Wonderful staff, I was out with a tee shirt and it was about 50 degrees out. I was freezing and the manager saw me freezing and offered me a half price long sleeve pullover. Saved me that night. We were going to St Pete for a job and decided to eat here for dinner. First major problem was the parking. There is none! A small strip in the front and this place was mobbed. We ended up parking across the street at a small Mall parking lot. Got inside and two bar seats were open so we grabbed them. Definitely a cozy atmosphere. In fact a little claustrophobic! We ordered two beers and ordered food. We were both very hungry. I ordered the wedge salad and got a side of blackened chicken. Hubby got a Ruben Burger. It took an hour for our food to come out. That being said, my salad was very fresh! Lots blue cheese and bacon but not a lot of dressing. I asked for some on the side and got some pretty quick. The salad was plenty big and the chicken on the side not that great. It was dry but I took it home for lunch the next day. Hubby's Burger he said was good but the corned beef was also dry. I guess we should come back when it's not spring break and do another review. Recommend the place for food not so much the location. read more

Dead Bob's is one of my favorite sports bars in St. Pete. That being said, sometimes there's not enough staff to take care of the patrons. When they get very busy, it's difficult to hear conversations. The TVs are pretty small for the number of tables and they aren't visible from every seat in the room. Also, when it's busy, the kitchen makes mistakes. My salad had way too much dressing on it. But the wings are delicious, and the daily specials are usually very reliable. The staff is very hardworking, just overwhelmed. The cramped environment doesn't make their jobs any easier. Like I said initially, I am a big fan of Dead Bob's. Now I only go between lunch and dinner on weekdays. read more

Checked out the new location. They sure packed more people in there, but they were still extremely understaffed. We sat down at the bar when 2 seats opened up and not 1 bartender acknowledged us for 15 minutes. Ordered an app and it came out about 3-4 minutes before our entrees. My entree was wings and they took 50 minutes to come out. We never went to Dead Bobs for their service at the previous location, but this was really bad service for sitting at the bar. With the new location, prices went way up. The online menu price is around $13 for bone in wings and on the new menu they were over $17. Also, the new staff uniforms now include a large Don't Tread On Me patch on the arm. This lets you know exactly the kind of people ownership are. Maybe that appeals to you, but I'd rather spend my money to one of the many inclusive places in St Petersburg. I have been living in St Pete for over 8 years and the other night was my last time going to Dead Bobs. read more

When I read the story of how Dead Bob's came about it resonated with me. I love a good back story and local love. We had a great time. Dead Bob's is a must go too! When you walk in, you might feel like it's a hole in the wall, but it's perfect! I promise you, give it a try! It's got the cheapest food that's actually amazing. I have several friends that request to eat here multiple times, and they come into town to visit. The service is always super fast and on point and much appreciated. If you can order as much broccoli as possible, as I think, they put a literal crack in it (it's so good!) Initially told it was a 30 to 45 minute wait, but only waited about 10 minutes. That was the end of the positive experience. Have been to the old location many many times, and brought people from out of town there, we always loved it and the food had always been very good. Even though it was cramped and parking was tough, the food had always been good. Now, the parking was much easier, but the food and service were not good at all. Had the fish spread app, which maintained its quality. Everyone's main order was very poor, including some inedible onion rings, which they eventually took off the order. Pot roast was lukewarm warm, and the water from the broccoli caused the potatoes to be..... soggy, if that's possible. It was also very bland. No utensils were given until half way through the meal because the kitchen was cleaning them. The seats were not very comfortable, and as the sun began to go down, it was very dark, since lighting was really limited. There was a lot more bar seating than their old place, but honestly, didn't seem to be much more table seating than the old place. Most likely will never go back to a place I once considered a staple establishment. Maybe it was just a bad night, but too many things were not good. read more

Quite literally waited an HOUR for spaghetti and meatballs that I PAID for and never got because I got tired of waiting. When I asked the bartender how much longer her response tonight was "do you see all the yellow tickets up there? You aren't the only one." Keep in mind all I said was "hey do you know how much longer" I've been a bartender a long time, the person next to me had to ask 3x between two people to get a shot. I come to see Petersburg from Orlando and I was fairly excited to try the food from here howeverI will never be back after tonight. I also have quite literally never left a bad review for a business before until now that's how rude and long I waited for something as simple as spaghetti and noodles. After an hour of waiting, she finally realized I still didn't have my food so she asked them if I could be pushed to the front since I have been waiting so long I still waited another 15 minutes before I left And just made peace with the fact that I was not getting my dinner that I paid for. read more
