Purchased optima here in 2018 and have mixed getting service between here and Fred Anderson in Raleigh. Much prefer this location. They don't tell you the 5 things they recommend to fix before even looking at your car like I always get from Fred Anderson. read more

I was looking at cars and I came across a few ads for cars that were for sale by Deacon Jones Kia. I contacted them and said I was interested in purchasing the cars. One of the salesman there, Philip J Rhodes emailed back, and called me. I said I was interested in purchasing a Kia Forte that they had on special for the advertised price. Mr. Rhodes said he was not going to sell me the vehicle for the advertised sale price, but gave me a different price, a price that was $3,000 more than the MSRP. He said he would only sell it to me for that. Why in the world he expected me to pay $3,000 more than the sticker was beyond me. So I asked for another vehicle that Deacon Jones Kia was advertising as a special, a Kia Optima SX. Once again Mr. Rhodes said he was not going to sell me that vehicle either for the advertised price. Mr. Rhodes said that the advertised prices were wrong on the vehicles, and told me what he was willing to accept instead. First, if you know the prices are wrong on the ads, take the ads down. It is on the internet, and just a few keystrokes can change the price. Second, why was he telling me to pay prices that were $3,000 more than the sticker price? That is just crazy talk. I contacted the Better Business Bureau, and according to them and the complaints that they have received, Deacon Jones Kia has a history of advertising one price, then when customers get into the store, refusing to sell vehicles for the advertised price, and know that the advertised price was wrong according to them, they still left the ads up. Does that sound like bait and switch to you too? Deacon Jones Kia never bothered to respond to the BBB about my issue either. I checked the website several days later, and the same prices were still listed, the prices that Deacon Jones Kia would not honor. From the first click on my computer inquiring about a vehicle to my name on the dotted line, Deacon Jones Kia was courteous, professional and pleasant. They found us a vehicle that we wanted that would meet our needs. They reviewed all documents thoroughly. It was a quick and easy transaction. A special shout out goes to Chad, Braydon (Braydon's Mama), Aaron and Kevin. They made the drive from Swansboro worth it! We now feel a part of the Deacon Jones family. read more

Be extremely careful with pricing. I was looking for a Kia Telluride 2021. I went on Kia.com to view surrounding inventory. Once I found the vehicle I was interested in based on pricing and options I was able to view vin number and window sticker, which is outstanding prior to go out to the dealership. I called to confirm price and if it was still available then I scheduled an appointment to see the exact vehicle I had seen on the website. The next day I drove 1 hour and 15 minutes thinking I was going to drive back home in a brand new car riiiiight!! Once at the dealership the window sticker had additional charges NOT DISPLAYED ON THE INTERNET $999.00 Deacon Jones Advantage and $2,000.00 Market Adjustment, when I ask for a lower price the salesman told me "that's impossible" I took pictures. I bought my car at Hendrick Kia in Cary NC. my salesperson was Ryen Sallee he provided me outstanding, no haggle, strait forward service. We went to Deacon Jones Kia today just to check things out and possibly explore the option of trading in our newer Kia, that was a barebones baseline model, for one with a little more power and a few more amenities. We hadn't even thought much about it, and went there on a whim early this afternoon. We just knew that, after a year of our base model, we were interested in something a little nicer (We LOVED our vehicle. Never had any issues at all. We just often take long distance trips and thought we could maybe benefit from something with a little more power). I thought we would browse, price some things, and then go home and talk it over. I never expected to go home with a new car today. But the staff and Deacon Jones Kia is AWESOME. They listened to us when we said what we wanted, and then they worked hard to get the price in to our "must have" range. We walked out with a brand new, fully loaded, car at a lower price than what we bought our base model for. We initially worked with a new saleswoman, Michelle, who was great! She was charming and helpful, and we decided to continue with the buying process because of her attentive, friendly, service. We then also worked with Jermaine, who is an awesome salesman and he really sealed the deal for us! He is AMAZING at working out a sale in a way that the customer feels they've gotten a good deal. He even helped me find new ways to schedule payment plans (rather than one big monthly sum) that make budgeting 100% easier. His coworkers in the sales and finance departments were equally attentive, knowledgeable, and personable. All in all this was, hands down, the best car buying experience I've ever had. If I could give a negative star rating, this place would get it. I exchanged emails with them ahead of my visit telling them exactly what I was looking for. When I got there for my appointment, they immediately shifted into high pressure mode. When I wouldn't bite, they lied to me and told me that there was only one copy of the car I wanted anywhere in the Carolinas and Virginia and they had it coming to the dealership. I stuck to my guns and told them I was going to keep my appointments with the other dealers. When I got to the next dealership appointment, at Lee Kia, the HONEST manager there told me there were 5 copies of the car available just in North Carolina. Needless to say, I bought my car elsewhere. These people at Deacon Jones are sleaze bags who will tell you anything to sell a car. Steer clear. read more

Deacon Jones has the best customer service ever. Lese and Howard treat me great and they make me feel like family. I have never had better customer service anywhere. They are always up front and honest with me about my car and only do what is needed. I would recommend taking the drive to get your car service there or if you need to buy one. I was there last time to get my car serviced and I was only there for about 30 minutes and I was asked by several of the staff of I needed or wanted anything. By far the worst experience I have every had. We drove 2 hours to look at a car. The day before they sent us a picture of the wrong car. We finally found the right car with the salesman and it had a cabin filter sitting in the front seat and had 4 different tires on the car with a car tire pressure light on. We test drive the car but felt very un-easy with all the red flags of how terrible our experience had already been. We decided that we wouldn't buy the car and the salesman and the general manager followed us to the parking lot told us they would give it to us and give us 4 brand new and new brakes in the front. My wife waited at there dealership for 5 hours for them to do all this work on the car we just purchased. We have had the car for less than a month now and there is terrible noise coming from the passenger side brake and the day after we brought the car home the fan motor for the interior air stopped working. When I called to ask what they could do for us since they worked on the breaks I was told they couldn't help me unless I came in. I told them that wasn't going to happen unless I was guaranteed for them to fix it. They told me that a sales manager would call me, that never happened. The next day I called again finally got the sales manager, same one that followed me to my car, he told me there was not he would do and that it was probably my fault that the brakes only lasted a month!!!! I've never heard of brand new brakes lasting less than a month but apparently this dealership has this issue a lot. The worst experience I have ever had with any sales department in my entire life. Would never ever ever recommend anyone go to these people. Wish I didn't have to give even one star. read more

Deacon Jones Kia is very pleasant to work with! I was looking for a 2015 Kia Sorento and Rodney H. was the salesman I interacted with. Throughout the entire sales process, Rodney bent over backwards to assist me and to work with his management on getting me a good deal. I could not have asked for anything more from a saleman. Both my husband and I bought KIAs the same year and were very please with the sales men who helped us, as well as the cars we bought. I just paid my Sedona off and have only had to take it in for brake work once and for new tires. Otherwise it's been running beautifully (94K mile), and so has my husband's Optima. We had to call the sales office a couple of times for some glitch issues with the camera system (and they helped us work that out), they were very friendly , helpful, and professional. Great experience all around. Loving our KIAs. Very dependable and they look and drive great! read more
