Great folks, honest and trustworthy. They did what they said they would do. Service department is great also.

I bought a used car here about 2 weeks ago - overall experience was not good & I would NOT…read morerecommend this location. I normally NEVER write reviews like this but I received a call a few days after my purchase from someone at the dealer asking about my experience. I went into great detail with her, she sounded very concerned and assured me she would be speaking to her manager & get back to me. I've not heard from her since - so much for customer service. I was asked to setup an appointment to see the car I was interested in, so they could be "mindful of my time". When I arrived nobody knew who I was, what car I was interested in or even that I was coming. After waiting over 4 hours in a small sales trailer with anywhere from 12-15 people at a time, we finally had to threaten to leave if we couldn't get an answer about the financing. Then with having nearly perfect credit - the rate was a joke. Thankfully the finance manager was able to get it lowered after I let them know I was already approved elsewhere at a lower rate. Finally all the paperwork was signed we were ready to go. BUT not so fast - my car was getting 2 new tires which weren't in stock, so we needed to take a dealer car. During all this wait time that car should have been prepared to go - plate put on, gas filled up - NOPE - we had to wait more for all that to happen. After about 5.5 hours we then were able to leave. My car was supposed to be ready the following afternoon for pickup. My salesman called Friday afternoon letting me know the car would not be ready for pickup until Monday. I let him know I was not able to pickup the car on Monday, the dealership is 45 minutes away, he agreed at that time the car could be delivered to me Monday without a problem. I received another call Saturday afternoon asking me if I could stop what I was doing & bring the dealer car back right away - apparently someone had made an appointment to see it but couldn't since it was given to me. I advised that was not convenient for me - but they were more than welcome to come get it & leave another car for me. About an 1.5 hours later someone showed up from the dealership, with no notice, to swap out the cars. This entire scenario in my opinion was completely unprofessional & shows the lack of organization at this dealership. On Monday early afternoon I contacted the salesman to get a time the car would be delivered. I was told it would be ready to pick up at 5 - so I mentioned the previous discussion where I was told the car would be brought to me. The salesman proceeded to tell me that he was very busy and couldn't bring it himself but would see what he could do. At this point I was 100% over the entire situation & if I could have undone the entire sale I was prepared to do that. I let him know if the car could not be delivered to my house as we discussed by the following day then the deal was off. The salesman understood & the car was delivered by someone else that evening at 8PM.

Deceitful, Incompetent Dealership. Terrible Experience. Grade = F…read more I have purchased 3 new vehicles over the past several years, so I am relatively familiar with the sales tactics and general shenanigans that go on with car dealerships. I am sharing my experience here so others can be forewarned and take their business elsewhere. This was for an "in-transit" 2022 F150 Lariat, not a custom build/order. General Incompetence - Could not get in touch with salesmen Shane AFTER I made my purchase. Dealership had no problem taking thousands of dollars for my deposit though. Once I paid, I called and emailed with no response... I had to contact the manager to get in touch with salesman again, I was then given the excuse of "the emails must not have gone through" ... see screenshot 1. Anyone can check their sent folder to see if an email was delivered or not. Just, overall general incompetence here. - Dealership told me over and over how they were "on top" of my order and had "marked my truck hot". I started getting morning emails saying, "nothing today, hopefully this week". I personally called Ford HQ, gave them my VIN and personal details, and Ford HQ told me the truck was WEEKS away from being delivered and had not been "marked hot" or designated for any type of expedite, they were not even familiar with that term. Dealership was happy to string me along and let me think it would be arriving any day. If ANYONE in that building picked up the phone and called Ford HQ like I did, they would have been told the truck was not coming anytime soon. Either they did this and withheld that information from me to keep my order, or they failed to even pick up the phone and call for me. Deceitful -As my truck's delivery date continued to be delayed from the date I was told it was set for delivery when I made my deposit, I eventually called and asked for a manager. I explained the situation and asked if I had any recourse at all if things continue to get delayed as I needed a vehicle (Could they provide a loaner car? Could they cancel my order so I could get a different truck?). The manager refused to provide a courtesy vehicle. When I asked about being locked into the contract, he said "you've already committed to buying the vehicle". The next day, in a bind for a truck, I called Ford HQ. Ford HQ customer service was great and informed me that I was not contractually obligated or committed to buying the vehicle until I had taken delivery of the truck, and it likely would be several weeks before the truck arrived at Deacon Jones. With this new information, I called Deacon Jones Ford and demanded my order be cancelled and my down payment be refunded. Rather that offer a courtesy vehicle and try to keep my business, the manager told me If I wanted this truck the next closest one was over 700 miles away. - Telling me other dealers are charging $5,000 over MSRP for this truck. I have spoken to 5 North Carolina Ford dealers looking for a Lariat F150, not a single one is adding money to MSRP. Perhaps peak COVID, but this was a scare tactic. Every dealer has actually come off MSRP, even if only slightly. This is either a deceitful sales tactic, or just incompetence in not understanding the current market conditions. The $899 Deacon Advantage.... -"Deacon Jones Advantage Program" for new vehicles is automatically added to the purchase price of new trucks. I did not ask for this product. When I told them to remove it and adjust the price accordingly, they told me it was coming off of their bottom line (screenshot 3). Obviously, I didn't believe that as the truck was "in transit" so items like door edge guards, and fabric protectors could not have been installed. Any new truck is an expensive purchase so look around and get informed. Look at Ramsey Ford in Maryland just as one example, offering a FREE 20 year, 200,000 mile limited powertrain warranty on any new truck just to show you how much of a rip-off this automatically added "deacon advantage" is. Dealer Documentation Fee -$799... The highest I have seen during my search for an F150. Of course, they will tell you this is for very important work and they can't budge on this. Here is the local market if you're curious: Deacon Jones Doc Fee: $799 Lookout Ford Dealer Doc Fee: $789 Sanders Dealer Doc Fee: $699 Cella Ford Dealer Doc Fee: $698 Feyer Ford Dealer Doc Fee: $699. Overall, they were responsive up until the point where they took my deposit. After that, it took me personally calling Ford HQ to get totally different answers than what I was getting from the dealership. They had no interest in providing a loaner vehicle, and they falsely told me I was committed to the vehicle when I was not contractually committed in anyway.

After multiple calls only to be sent to voicemails or no one answered, Savannah called me. I was a mile from their location. She came to me immediately bringing a mechanic with her. So I proceeded to test drive the vehicle and upon test driving I went and had the car looked over elsewhere where it was found the car had some damage and also upon driving back to the lot all four of the windows were hesitating to roll down almost like they were about to go off track and not work. From seeing these issues I took the vehicle back to the dealership and explained to them I was no longer interested in the car. Upon getting in my vehicle Manager Rob had stopped me and my girlfriend from leaving explaining he did not want to lose our business and if he could just try to help us sure cool so I showed Rob the issue with the windows he than showed me it was a adhesive where the tint was removed causing the issue with the windows. Than I showed him my concerns of the damages to the rear bumper and where the vehicle had been repainted he kinda just shrugged the issues off. I than walked the lot just looking at inventory as Rob went inside to see " what numbers he could come up with" for the value of my 2021 Toyota Corolla trade in. I began looking at a Maroon Dodge Charger upon looking it over I checked the dipstick to the oil there was no oil on the dipstick I expressed the concern to Rob in which he stated the vehicle had to have oil on it to pass the inspection to be able to be in lot and sold on lot i than showed Rob there was no oil on the dipstick again another issue just kinda shrugged off. I than was told they were willing to pay off my trade in and get me in a Accord not sure which vehicle that was cause I had test drove the junk of a Civic they had on lot. I than asked for a quote showing the amount for my trade in and showing on paper printed out that they were paying it off and showing the numbers. He said okay no problem proceeds to go inside while I continue to walk the lot looking at vehicles than comes back out in which I ask again for a print out showing the numbers. He than says he's not doing that and will hand write that info down because I'm not taking the numbers he's giving me and shopping elsewhere. Overall very unprofessional and very rude of Rob I really before today had heard nothing but good of Matthew's Motors Goldsboro but after today I know my business will no longer be going to them ever. This morning was a complete waste of time and shows why I only deal with certain Toyota and Honda dealerships around Goldsboro NC. Also if I could I would give this no stars because it doesn't even deserve 1 star. update I called this morning and spoke with rob, after finding out they keep running my credit and I'm not even at the dealership! way to affect my credit!
