This is a great place to getaway from the city and enjoy a very good and very reasonably priced wine selection!

Close to Springfield, this is a great little mom-and-pop run business within a 30 minute drive of…read morenorth Springfield. This is definitely a "don't judge a book by its cover," kind of place... what you see outside when you drive up is not what you get inside. Inside, the winery boasts Missouri wines from Missouri grapes, but it also has some very unique, tasty mead wines (not mead in a beer style). Though much of the selection leans semisweet to sweet, there are a few dry whites and reds, with a particularly good Norton that is matured in oak barrels. 6 tastings for free or 12 for $5 to include a free stemless glass. Cheers!

Got there, didn't hear any music. . . and didn't see any people, for that matter. Checked one door--locked. Checked the next door--locked. Since the website said they were open, I called, asked if they were open, and was told the sign on the door said to ring the door bell if the door was locked. It didn't look like a high crime area, so I was a little puzzled by that. I will say that the woman behind the counter was obliging, told us about the wines, and let us sample a few. Feeling a little sheepish--and even a little intrusive--about being the only ones there, we got glasses of wine, rummaged through the too-sparse collection of table games, drank the wine, and left. One truck passed on the road the entire time. I can't give this place a high review, based on this bizarre, minimalistic experience as a customer, but I don't want to say it is bad, either. The only thing I want is an answer to "WTH just happened."
