Food was amazing def had some take home. Our service was great our waiter was very attentive knowledgeable and recommended great options. The location for this restaurant is great they have the option to eat indoors or outdoors. The accessible option was to eat only outside which could be viewed as inaccessible especially during the cold weather. (Didn't ask if they had a ramp to possible go inside so they might be able to make accommodation) The tables outside were bar height that is a little too high for an electric wheelchair user. Overall the food and ambience was amazing I would definitely recommend giving it a try. read more

This place definitely has potential, but I think they're still trying to figure out how to run as a newer restaurant in town. Decided to come in over the weekend, the town was extremely crowded, like overly crowded. But the restaurant really wasn't too busy so we decided to eat here. There was maybe 3 or 4 other groups of people there at the time. Our food took over 40 minutes from time of order to receive it. Mind you we didn't get anything fancy. The birria soup was extremely salty and the burger patty was extremely small for the price. We only ended up getting the fries and onion rings pictured because another party decided to leave and were nice enough to offer us their appetizers so they didn't go to waste. Our server was nice but once the place started to get busy we barely saw her. They were definitely short staffed over the busy holiday weekend. read more

Julian just got a new gem De Los Altos! This family owned spot has something for everyone: birria tacos, rolled tacos, juicy burgers, and even chicken nuggets & fries for the picky little ones. Service was fantastic, Beatriz took care of our party of 18 with patience and a smile, and the owners/cook were so warm and welcoming. You can really feel the love they put into this place. Kid-friendly Indoor seating is small but airy and aesthetically pleasing, outdoor seating is beautiful, and I loved the QR code menus on every table for quick & easy ordering. And the food? AMAZING. My Western BBQ Burger is now in my Top 3 burgers ever, my daughter's cheeseburger was juicy, and the nuggets were cooked perfectly. Beautiful NEW addition to Julian's food selection. This is a family run restaurant with house made options and a little taste of Julian's famous apple pie to finish off your dining experience! I had a wonderful experience here. The food was delicious. I ordered the chips and salsa/guacamole and the chips were incredible. The buffalo sauce on the wings is unmatched, the chef has absolutely perfected the homemade sauce and it's one to be remembered. The rolled tacos were crisp on the outside and the meat was so tender inside with an array of toppings that were all fresh. The quality shows in every way! As they are a new restaurant, they're working out everything necessary to run a very successful establishment in the heart of Julian! The staff is very friendly and accommodating. Will absolutely be returning in the future for that hometown, comforting feeling of a home cooked meal that we all know Julian so well for. read more

I watched the cook hand my salad to the server, and the salad slid along the bottom of the bottom black shelf (in the photo) on the way out. Very gross. The server then brought it right out to me like nothing happened. Had I not seen it, I never would have known my salad got scraped along the bottom of a dusty shelf. There were also flies everywhere. I think this restaurant is highly unsanitary and the shelf salad was probably the tip of the iceberg. read more

Service is very very slow and food is very average. 20 dollars for a turkey sandwich . Some of the sandwiches are over 30 dollars. Server never refilled our water and told us she was going to give us our checks and 20 minutes went by. Maybe beacuse this is new restaurant and the staff hasn't worked in a restaurant before? We drove 4 hours to get here for the pies. We just had to get something to eat. I should have looked at the ratings on Yelp before we went there. The rating they were pretty accurate. Hello there I had dinner here last night. Awesome! The staff was great and the menu is simple and served fresh. Of course it's a bit small, however, enough room outside as well. This place is absolutely amazing! Servers where very friendly. The wait time is understandable due to busy season in Julian. Everywhere in Julian was more than 1 hour wait time! Looks like my review got taken down.. so I'm going out of my way to add it back. This has been the worst experience. I downloaded Yelp just to say this and defer people from coming here. We were sat down first before another group and they got attended before we did. It was not until they left before ordering that we got asked for our order. We were in plain sight pretty hard to miss. We ordered one item the steak fries and they took over an hour, we had to ask them for an update.. no one ever checked up on us since we had ordered. When it did come the fries were cold and the steak was warm and unseasoned... It was our first time here and they weren't horribly busy either. We saw many many other yt couples and groups come in AFTER us and get their food in a timely matter. We also saw other people of color be ALSO attended very late. Why did we need to ask where our food was? My friend did complain and they did void the food since we only picked at it. We have all been in the service industry so we were more than understanding if things happen. But you do have to own up to it. Clearing something was going on because there was no way we and other people that looked like us were the only ones being ignored. Food didn't have flavor and was cold. The person who we dealt with was named Blanca*, and she didn't even seem sorry about what had happened. As a tourist location you all need to treat EVERYONE with the same respect and decency. We were there at lunch on a Thursday. There were only two other tables with customers and yet our food took forever to arrive. My husband got a bowl of birria soup that was barely warm (although it did taste good) and I ordered the patty melt. It was a small little island of meat surrounded by too much bread that was supposed to be sourdough but looked and tasted like plain white bread. $13 for 1 bowl of basically cold soup and $17 for a mostly flavorless sandwich. High prices for meh food and inexcusably slow service (the server was nice tho). Won't be back but I hope they can make some improvements as it has a really cute outdoor seating area and could have potential to be a great little place. read more

Well the outdoor seating upstairs is cute and shaded, thats where the positives end. Servers were sweet but scarce. Ordered our lunch on a sunny Sunday and waited over an hour for it to appear from the kitchen. The Veggie Melt was a disaster..ICEBURG lettuce ?!?? a slice of onion, a piece of rock hard avocado, tomato and cheese slice on barely toasted bread. It was so bad we laughed. I ate half because I was starving, my son took one bite. Hamburger was adequate. Guac and chips were good. They desperately need to rework the veggie sandwich and figure out how to get food out on a timely basis. As a side the servers were sweet. Hope they figure it all out and wish them well. read more

I was very optimistic about this place but the prices were high and the food was mid. I had the patty melt - meat was overcooked, onions were still raw, and sourdough wasn't toasted. I ordered togo for lunch on a Thursday. Service was quick and thoughtful. I like the diversity of the menu, truly mexican-american as I was able to get Queso Birria tacos and a side of fries. A new absolute gem has arrived in Julian!!!! My boyfriend and I live in north county, SD and wanted to have a little day date in Julian. We drove the chill hour over and went in without a plan, just excited to be in the area and feel the fall ambience. We were hungry and open for anything. We just so happened to stumble across our new favorite restaurant! The waitress was so lovely and kind. She recommended the birria tacos and oh my god, best birria tacos EVER and I have had a lot of birria tacos in my time in San Diego (9 years to be exact). It worth to eat at this amazing restaurant. The food is made by scratch the burger are hand tossed made the fries are fresh from the chef. The waiters are amazing so nice and very hard works they just open while back like 5 weeks ago now. this spot has one of my favorite plats that is reared to find in SD. the Ribeye Aguachiles, De Los Altos knock it out the park. this restaurant is in the heart of the beautiful town of Julia with the beautiful view of the main street of this town. the service was great! i defiantly recommend the place and will defiantly come back on our next visit to this beautiful town of Julian. read more
