Then she told me at first to order my glasses online bc they have to deal with the line first. All I needed was for them to open the display case and allow me to purchase them, I'm okay waiting in line but she was refusing to open the case even. So after I looked online and there's no specific spot to order my glasses, I approached her again and she rudely opened it. She seemed upset. Both cashiers were ignoring me on shift. I waited and was polite. After approaching her and she opened it, I showed her the ones I wanted and I asked her to hold them by the register. That ima get them, I didn't need to try them on or anything. I knew the exact ones I needed. Horrible customer service, they turn away customers so they don't have to open the sunglasses display, how lazy. Not returning to this location again.

The selection was minimal, practically empty. I wanted to buy some charger plates, there was a man by the fitting room looking like he would tackle you and a weird lady walking around made me very nervous. The value of items was Ross expected. I'm leaving out because I put the charger plates back and the security looks at you in a way that makes me feel that I will never stop at. this location again. Just close the store if you have to subject people to this type of scrutiny. Very disappointed.

You get the occasional great find like a pair of DKNY jeans or Calvin Klein dress for virtually nothing but you have to sort through a whole lot of junk to do it. If you just want cheap stuff even cheaper, Ross can be useful. My issue with this particular Ross is the odd ratio of security to actual sales staff. I have twice had to put things down and walk out because there was only one cashier to ring up purchases, a long line, and three security guards standing around the front of the store staring. That gets on my nerves because while Ross as a chain seems freakishly preoccupied with theft prevention (God only knows why as they sell very little worth stealing), that kind of egregious nonsense seems to only be reserved for certain communities.

Well, I went in for an entryway table (aka a catch-all table for next to the front door of my condo) and I found something I loved that wasn't quite the right size. Shari immediately reached out to the maker of the piece, and now I am getting one from her that is custom fit for my home! She has lots of beautiful pieces in the store, but if you don't see what you're looking for, be sure to ask about it. Odds are, if it's not in stock, Shari (or any of her employees) can probably help you find or build it. In addition to shirts, earrings, and furniture, Recycled Modern has a nice collection of beautiful wall art, and plenty of vintage glasses frames to try on (along with the option to order your own lenses to fit, for those who are basically blind without glasses like myself). Plus, candles! And as far as I could tell, any of the new items were all made by independent (largely local) makers. Vintage items sourced from all over. Just go. What else are you going to do. There's a pandemic. Go get a cute coffee table to make up for that plane ticket you didn't get to buy last year.

Home Goods opened at 8 but it was pouring rain so I did not get there till 10am. It was packed..like all of Oak Lawn thought it was the last day on earth. Home Goods knocked it out of the park with plenty of staff, cashiers, helpers to load your car, a packed store with all your favorite design items. They had staff keeping shelves arranged and tidying up aisles. Expediters would find you a cart person to move your item up front because if you left it- it would be gone to some other customer who was faster than you. They had a beautiful champagne frosted mirror foyer table I got for $50 less than Minnesota when I was there. The aisles are a little tight but who cares when you are in heaven. It was men, women, couples, the whole neighborhood must have arrived. Parking lost is spacious but packed that day. They had people keeping carts back in from the lot. You could feel the frenzy and delight of us all as we found great deals, rugs,furniture, lamps, mirrors, linens, beautiful art work drapes and accessories. It is always a happy place when I see beautiful things like that. Well planned opening with well trained people, plenty of staff who were very nice and free Home Goods huge Shopping bags you could keep on entry as you arrived and take home. It replaced the store across from Ford City and so much better an arena to shop at.
