Is it a five star gym, no it's not, but it could be. First off Courtney is a great ambassador for the gym. She is knowledgeable, enthusiastic and very friendly. She is also beautiful and in very good shape. Criticize me if you want, but those things matter. My review is more focused on the weight training/cardio side of the gym. There is a lot going on in this, what I would call, medium size space. The equipment is all in good shape, it's just not organized in a way to take full advantage of the space. Even still, some things are lacking like; a second rack of dumbbells...at least for the lighter weights less than 40 say, there we no small dumbbells either and a lot of people like myself, do high rep workouts so need those small hand weights e.g. 2#, 3#, 4#...up to 10#, a captains chair and/or dip rack would be a good addition as would a Smith Press. There is also a need for more mirrors. I saw some folks doing squats and there is no mirror for them to check form. A lot of the best gyms I have been in had 80-90% of the walls covered in mirrors - the more the better. There also needs to be a dedicated area with matts for people to stretch and do floor exercises. Or at least put some signs up so people do not use the area in front of the dumbbell rack for this purpose. Too be fair, some of the items I mentioned might be in the cross fit area, but if they are, they should be moved or duplicated. Again it's a layout issue for the most part. It might seem I am being overly critical, but I am not really. I am providing honest feedback from someone who knows his way around gyms. However, it does depend on what the owner's goal is. It could be possible Cross Training is their main focus and they want to stay away from, what I would call, a "power lifter" atmosphere....which is fine. Although some of the items I mentioned would still be beneficial. I also do not know how long this gym has been around, but I suspect it's relatively new so things could be in the works. Another thing to consider it the music played in the gym. Being 68 years old I am not a fan of whatever was on, but I might suggest a better mix/blend of different music genres. Personally, I think easy listening/soft rock is best since even young folks can relate. For some people it can be a deal breaker. On the positive side the gym is well lite, very clean with clean bathrooms and even saunas which were hot and and also very clean. it's in a good location and with proper signage and advertising could have a healthy membership. Owning and operating a gym is hard work and even harder to turn a profit. I wish the owners luck with this endeavor because you cannot have too many gyms in my book

For my birthday this past March, my gift was to try out a local gym- working out was something I was passionate about before becoming a mother and looked forward to bringing back to my life. After finding a deal through Groupon I purchased a ONE MONTH membership directly through Weapons 4 Weight Loss - Bootcamp & Personal Training in Dearborn for the Groupon rate of $50. We just realized this month (July) that we have been being charged $127/month! After contacting the business I was sent my agreement and told it was in the fine print. I was disappointed when the owner Nick was rude and condescending, inferring that I was poor since I stated I was budget conscious. He belittled me for not realizing sooner the account was being charged. (Yes, I should have noticed sooner, but do not live my life checking our bank statement per month, I trusted this local business). They also claim that they did explain this policy at time of agreement; however I am certain they did not. Since we are on a budget and I would have been alerted to such an exorbitant membership hike. I am appalled by their response and lack of transparency at signing. I was very clear I only wanted the Groupon month, so much so I made sure they wrote that on my agreement (Wrongly assuming this made clear we were all on the same page regarding a month commitment). It is my fault for not holding on to my copy of agreement and being certain it was written as I understood, however it is all misleading and disreputable of them. I truly feel Weapons 4 Weightloss is using predatory business practices- buyers beware!

He truly cares about his clients success and isn't there just for the money. He goes out of his way to keep each workout challenging and different so you aren't bored. If you follow his recommendations on nutrition and exercise it will work for you. Aside from the above comments, the atmosphere is very friendly. I have not once felt intimidated to go workout. The other trainers are very friendly and all of the clients are friendly as well and support each other in their success. Even though I moved away from Michigan almost three years ago, I always try to make it a point to…read moresqueeze in a workout with Josh or Tim (owners & trainers at Infinite Iron) whenever I'm back. I am NOT a fitness freak and often make excuses to be active, so it's saying a lot that I go out of my way to do this. Josh and Tim are amazing! My husband and I trained with them a few years ago after being totally sedentary. I had gained a ton of weight in med school and felt like a blob. Besides losing over thirty pounds in a year working out three to four times a week, I also gained muscle (but not in the unfeminine way that I was thinking I would), strength, and confidence. All I had to do was show up and do what they told me, which was a mix of strength training, flexibility, and cardio. Seriously, I went from not being able to do a 'real' push-up to being able to do over a hundred in a minute after about a year, which was super amazing for me. I like that both Josh and Tim will push you to your limits and give you a really good workout but won't yell at you, judge you, or make you feel bad about yourself. (I'm sure they can yell at you if you want them to, but that doesn't work for me). Their workouts are efficient, always changing, and challenging. They also teach you great form while doing different exercises (with or without equipment), and other trainers I've worked with after them have commented on my form and being taught well. Finally, they can also give you nutrition advice if you want it. Besides all this fitness stuff, they are also just great guys to hang out with and talk to, and you can tell that they are really passionate about their jobs. Do yourself a favor if you want to lose weight or get in shape and check them out for a few months. They have a fitness assessment when you start that can help you track your progress. You'll be amazed at what can happen over a few weeks!

Who wants to be physically vulnerable to someone you don't care for or trust? I've been training with Josh at Infinite Iron for a few years now, and a large part of that has to do with how he works with me: he's great! I'm not someone who responds particularly well to yelling--I want to do whatever it is set in front of me, but occasionally I need help with keeping count and remembering what's next. Josh is highly observant and picked up on that pretty quickly, with no yelling along the way. He's pretty easygoing to start. I've also had the chance to observe him work with many different kinds of people, old and young, and he modifies his style as necessary. If yelling's your thing, he can accommodate. He's also well-versed in nutrition and continuously modifies what we do. When I first started, I had different goals than I do now, and he takes that into account. We've done a variety of exercises using all sorts of things, and just when I think I've experienced it all, he comes up with something new. He's also motivating when it comes to accountability. Initially, I only planned to stay a few months to learn things and then continue on my own, but I realized training with him several mornings a week was a large part of the success of the rest of my day. Check him out! You'll be glad you did.

What amazes me is the level of physical functionality that I have, primarily due to the work that I do at GIVE Fitness. This is not a one-size-fits-all operation. Pierre continues to design programs that align to my physical limitations and current goals. For instance, I have said, "give me the Linda Hamilton arms from Terminator 2" and Pierre will say "are you sure?" and then he designs a program and then, within a few months, I'll be gratuitously poking at things in the distance, just so I can hear "dang, your arms are tone!". Lol, j/k, kind of. Anyway, the point is, unique programs. And now, having been there so long, I have seen the work he has done on other clients. People with health issues or trying to get back in shape after physical injuries, or just regular people that need help. I think he's still running the new member promo so check it out!

He's very knowledgeable and always changes up my routine to keep things fresh. He is very friendly and encouraging and never makes you feel bad. He'll also build a nutritional plan for you. The prices are fair. Studio is clean. I get measurements monthly to help track my progress. You can buy cold water and Gatorade for $1. Really easy location for downtown Detroit. When I first looked for a Detroit trainer, I also check out true body fitness, but wasn't as impressed with the free first assessment. Pierre really got my goals and assessed my baseline fitness level so he was ready with a full work out plan for my first paid session. BAM! Hit the ground running!
