He also came out the same day to assess the issue and was super nice. He spent the time to answer our questions, talk to us about what he thought was going on, and clearly explained what the process would be to fix the problem. Within a day and a half he had a quote over to us with a breakdown & description of the work that needed to be done. This was a two-day job and they were on time both days and worked relentlessly in the August heat and humidity to make sure it was done properly and within the expected time frame. Chad and Jordan even took the time out during the work process to show me what they were doing and explain why they were doing it. When the inspector came out to assess the job half way through, he commented that the job looked great and was one of the best he had seen like this. When the job was ready to wrap up they did a nice job at cleaning up and doing what they could to ensure there wasn't a big mess left behind. Barber & Sons is a family-owned, local business which I prefer compared to the larger, more corporate businesses. They take pride in their work and it shows in their professionalism, customer-service and quality of work. Both my husband and I are very pleased with the quality and efficiency of the work they did and would hire Darryl Barber & Sons again in a heartbeat.

Brandon was able to offer a variety of energy efficient designs with fair and attractive pricing. We chose a burner with efficiency close to 90% combined with an indirect water heater. We kept the original four heating zones & added one more for the indirect water heater. The installation crew was very professional and knowledgeable. The installation did away with zone valves and utilized separate circulating pumps for each zone. The hot water zone is set up to have priority over the heating zones to provide for domestic hot water as needed. Super job. The entire staff from office to technicians was responsive and professional. We are very happy to have found this company.

They were on time, checked out the AC, added coolant and then took a quick peek at the furnace. They said both look good for the age (17 years) and should be good for a while. I had questions about rebates for heat pumps and he had answers about rebates, rough costs and advantages of the new heat pumps. He reiterated that we didn't need to change out our current equipment but if we feel it's important for environmental reasons there are good options. We'll definitely be using them going forward, and have a fall furnace checkup scheduled.

On the first cold day this winter he claims the heater is all rusted out in the exchanger and has to be replaced, along with the entire system because a new heater can't work with an old air conditioner. Our neighbor suggested we call their guy. He's been in business for 30 years. Needless to say, the heater was not rusted he showed me the unit was very dirty, the fan motor and wheel were clogged with dirt and there were two dead birds in the chimney. The outside air conditioner was only 10 years old. I'm convinced SK had never done anything other than collect their fee and try to sell stuff we didn't want or need.
