I picked up my new JLU sport a few weeks ago and the plan from day one was to modify the jeep. I live in Northern California and researched several local shops to do the work, but kept coming back to DCD Customs based on other reviews as well as watching different videos online. What drew me to the shop was attention to detail and David's aesthetic, he simply knows how a jeep should perform and how to perfect a clean look. The Teraflex lift rides better than stock, the bumper, tire carrier, and rock rail combination is exceptional - clean, simple, and functional. I recently went to DCD Customs because I was told that David (The owner) is the best at what he does, or at least he used to. I recently ran into an old friend of his which is also a friend of mine. At the time I didn't know he was a mutual friend. I showed him the estimate that David had written for me, telling him I went to DCD etc and he was in shock when looking at the invoice. He told me the invoice made no sense, it was super vague and there weren't any details on the invoice for any of the parts. He stated that David used to do this for the passion and love but now he has become the type of person thats in it only for the money and the name to build. I thought my friend was maybe wrong so I took it to another Jeep off road customization shop, they were shocked at the invoice too. I gave david numerous chances through email very kindly asking if he can provide me links so I can dig deep into the parts too and he stated I have the list just google it or I can call him and he can show me how to find details. Why should I as a customer have to do the digging, shouldn't the shop show me the details and explain through those details why this part is best? Another complaint I have is the fact that from the get go he stated that I could also purchase the products myself and give it to him for installation, well it turns out he didn't like that since I told him I'de rather go that route, it seemed as if he couldn't care less about helping me anymore. Maybe because I didn't wanna pay $15k for dyantrac 60's since northridge 4x4 has em for $12.5k? Or the fact that he tried selling me 3.5inch rock krawler rear springs for $250 when Rebel Off-road has em for $150. The list goes on. There is at least 10k in price rape for profit on each piece plus another $6600 for labor. I don't mind the labor, any where you go you have to pay labor but for God sake! Take a look at the invoice and you be the judge. I recommend you go else where. read more

A few things: 1) I've never met any person that has more technical knowledge about jeeps, inside and out. 2) His work is second to none and is done with extreme and genuine care of the customer and vehicle. Example: when he built my suspension, he marked with a sharpie EVERY single nut, bolt, screw, and piece to make sure everything was in place and secure. 3) He responds to any and every question you have if you text or call him regarding work being done to your vehicle or if you have an idea or general question to be done to your vehicle. 4) He probably cares about your Jeep more than you do haha. Ok maybe not, but he wants to make your vehicle and you as the customer as great and satisfied as possible. I hope this helps anybody out there decide where to go to get work done to their Jeep. Seems to do good work but I won't use him again. I saw lots of good reviews I'd Dave and his shop. I called to get a quote on the work I wanted done. He gave me a quote and insisted I come to the shop to finalize details. I thought this was overkill as I wasn't doing a ton of work on the jeep; I went anyway. He showed me around the shop (impressive jeep projects) then sat me down in the office. He reiterated everything he told me on the phone. He said I'd have to pay for everything up front which I thought was strange. I paid since he said he was going to do the work the that same week. It ended up taking 7 weeks from the time I paid in advance to when he actually began work on my jeep. I was about to cancel the funds with my CC provider when he finally got around to the work. I haven't had any issues with the work but I don't think I'll be going back to him anytime soon. read more

Our 2012 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon was involved in an accident two years ago and was subsequently repaired by a body shop and inspected by the Jeep dealership itself, both of whom swore the car was repaired and in perfect condition. However, after the repairs the car was plagued by problems for over a year and a half. The engine would randomly shut down while driving (5 to 10 times per day), the vehicle would shift at the wrong time, periodically lose power during acceleration, and suffered from chronic electrical and technological problems (malfunctioning of bluetooth, navigation, etc.). After taking it to numerous body shops and Jeep dealerships, literally NO one could figure out what was wrong with the car. I was at a complete loss, when someone recommended I find a specialist in aftermarket Jeep modification, because they would likely be the most knowledgeable. I had all but given up, but figured it was worth a shot. After searching the greater Los Angeles area exhaustively, I came across DCD Customs. I called the number on Yelp and the owner David answered. He was extremely nice and informed me that he worked exclusively on Jeeps and would absolutely take a look at my car (even though they really focus on after market work). He assured me that if it could be fixed, he'd find the problem... I legitimately felt hopeful for the first time in 2 years. I took the car to him and he drove it around the block with me and immediately pointed out all of the things that felt wrong about the way that the car was driving. FINALLY someone who was such an expert they could recognize the problems in a simple 5 minute drive! He told me that he suspected one of a few things. If it was an easier issue, he wouldn't even charge me and if it was more difficult to identify, he would only charge me for his mechanic's time, which was extraordinarily generous. David and his mechanic checked the voltage and sensors, identified a camshaft position sensor which they suspected to be the culprit, and swapped it for a new sensor. The diagnostics and repairs took them less than an hour combined. The car worked perfectly the moment I drove it off the lot and it's been flawless ever since! After years of idiots not knowing what was wrong and swearing to us that our car was "fine", David and his crew instantly recognized there was a serious problem, knew exactly what to look for, and were able to fix it in a matter of minutes. They didn't even charge us for the parts - just a minimal fee for his mechanic's labor! I can't possibly find enough good things to say about David and the professionals at DCD Customs. I was at a complete loss before I met them. I actually thought our car would never be fixed and we'd never be able to sell it (as it was very clearly broken) until David and his team saved our Jeep! They are kind, honest, generous, and above all, EXPERTS. They have a genuine love for what they do and are truly masters at their craft. On a sidenote, having spent some time at his shop, I can also say that his custom builds are without question the most amazing I've ever seen in my life and we will DEFINITELY be buying our next Jeep from DCD Customs! read more

I was looking for a shop that had an extensive experience working on Jeeps. It took me several months to find a shop that I was comfortable bringing my 2016 Jeep Wrangler.
