DC Way has been a wonderful introduction into the world of soccer for my son who started at 5 years old (now 7). Although he didn't start off as one of the more gifted or confident players, Coach Denis and his team has been amazing at bringing out his best -- so much that this year, his team has gone to an undefeated season. But more than winning tournaments, the coaches teach skills at an approachable, inspiring, and positive way. As for our youngest, he was clearly not ready for soccer. Coach Dennis gently approached me and said that it might be better to try again next year and to just email for a refund. When the youngest is ready, we will definitely be bringing him to the field with his cleats on and ready. read more

Coach Denis and his staff combine an enjoyable approach to teaching soccer with clear expectations of participants. This combination keeps children highly engaged while developing positive sportsmanship and focus. My nine-year-old son has participated in DC Way clinics and in the 2018 Spring Break Soccer Camp. In his words, "The soccer activities are planned out creatively. It makes it all very fun! I would recommend this program to all ages because the coaches are very encouraging and know how to teach. Everyday we learn a new skill such as kicking, dribbling, and speed. Everyday there is also a fun competition with rounds, semifinals, and finals. It makes kids want to do their best!" read more

I live in SE right across the bridge. There's not much of anything out here so I was very excited to find an extra curricular activity for my 4 year old daughter that was just a 10 minute ride from our home. I signed her up for the fall 4 week program with Coach Alyssa. The sessions were okay, nothing special, but it was still a good introduction to soccer. There was an instance when my daughter kicked the ball too hard and started rolling away from the park. My daughter started running after the ball. I had to run after her to prevent her from running into the street (there's no proper fencing around the park where the program is held) Coach Alyssa and her aid didn't even realize what happened b/c both were focused on the other student in the class. There were only 2 students (including my daughter). That incident put into question where either one of them is capable of leading a kids group soccer class. We missed one class due to the weather. I never got a refund for the session. When I registered I selected to pay extra for a t-shirt. I never received the t-shirt, and when I asked Coach Alyssa about it, she offered me a dirty one . How rude! When I called to address my concerns, I never received a call back. So it's safe to say, we won't be back. read more

DC Way has been bringing soccer to kids across Capitol Hill since 2013. We offer summer camps, spring break camps, after-school programs, leagues, skills clinics, and more for kids ages 3 to 18. What makes us different is how we coach. Our programs focus on building confidence, communication, and real love for the game in a fun, pressure-free environment. Kids don't just learn soccer here. History

Established in 2013.

DC Way was founded in the heart of Capitol Hill with one goal: give kids a place to fall in love with soccer. Over a decade later we have served over 4,000 kids a year across Washington DC, ages 3 to 18. We are more than a soccer club. We are a community where kids build confidence, make friends, and grow both on and off the field. Every program we run, from summer camps and leagues to after-school programs and skills clinics, is designed to develop the whole child, not just the player.

Meet the Business Owner: Denis C.

Denis grew up with soccer in his blood. His father was a professional player, and Denis went on to train in the Volgar Gazprom FC youth academy in Russia before playing at the collegiate level. He was also one of the first people to bring futsal to his hometown of Astrakhan, Russia. When he moved to Washington DC, he brought that passion with him and founded DC Way in 2013. Denis holds a National Soccer Coaching License and a Coerver Coaching Youth Diploma, and was named Best Sports Coach by the Washington City Paper two years in a row. His philosophy is simple: develop the whole child, not just the player.

Asael had a good time during his summer of "24-25. This year I had stopped working so I didn't sign him up but otherwise if I was still working most definitely would have enrolled him. The rings were especially a hit. After an hour of play, the kids moved upstairs to the birthday room. The birthday family brought in pizza, juice/water, and doughnuts. It was a blast!

My kids are currently 8 and 6, and have been enjoying working with DC Way coaches for the past few years, both in summer camps and in a private learning pod during the pandemic. Our family has really appreciated the approach of Coach Denis and his team to first and foremost, instill a love of the game. Neither of my children had much experience of soccer before working with DC Way staff, and they both enjoy it now and have started to learn some helpful techniques. I also appreciate the services Coach Denis provided during the pandemic, when kids were not in school, but still had the chance to play with their friends outside. DC Way provided us with coaches that could meet at a time and place that could accommodate schedules of multiple working families. Coach Denis has also supported local elementary schools for many years by contributing gift certificates for services to school auctions and fundraisers. Thanks DC Way team! read more

My son Mikhail(13) participated as a assistant on training last Summer to one of DC Way camp. He got so much out of it. He learnt to be responsible, got more organized with his school stuff,he won 1 competition DC Way does every day at the camp. He loved it. He never played soccer before or any other sport. After going to DC Way camp,he started to beg me to let him join the team last Fall, what we actually did and they won the title that season. My younger son,who is 6, did some of DC Way training and loved that too. I'd never imagine the program can have such a big impact. Definitely recommend for the first timers or those who had a bad experience with other clubs, teams,or sports in general. read more

My son has participated in DC Way and it has beneficial to him. It is amazing how fast he learns in a fun environment and I can see the improvement from session to session. He's not just building his soccer skills but I can tell that he has becoming more confident and has learning how to work in a team. My son is kindergartener and all of these skills are super important and helpful to him. Finally,Coach Denis, is great! The children enjoy his class so much. They are playing, laughing, and learning at the same time. My child is pretending that he is Coach Denis and trying to teach me how to play soccer at home. We are feel so lucky to find DC Way. We've been part of the DC Way family for probably four or five years now and I just can't say enough good things about Denis, all the coaches and programs. We've done the summer camps, day off of school camps, SOTH clinics and now his travel team. My girls have learned so much - way beyond the soccer skills and sportsmanship. Coach Denis is an inspiring person who is genuinely interested in kids and helping them learn to be better people through playing team sports. What a fantastic summer camp! I brought my son who is almost 5 to try this soccer camp after trying another summer camp where seemed bored and unhappy, and I cannot recommend it high enough! The coaches are wonderful and attentive, they take regular water breaks to make sure everyone stays hydrated (it is a hot summer after all!), and their games are a lot of fun! Since my son is still quite young, a big plus is that other big kids who are assistant coaches are looking after little ones and make sure they are all having a good time, while learning some good soccer skills and team play! read more

DcWay is a great soccer program for both children and adults! My friend's child is amazed by the coach-Denis! He is always excited when he talks about him and about what he learns during the practice! He absolutely loves it! This fall DcWay offered a new program for women. The practice took place twice a week at about 8pm outdoors. Having no previous experience in soccer, I still joined the class! It was a great decision!!! It combines fun and workout! Coach Denis and his team are focused on instilling joy for soccer in the kids - having him in DC/Capitol Hill has been a huge positive for the local soccer scene. I have been volunteering/coaching with my son since he was a toddler and I know the difference that positive attitude and deep skills brings to the kids. My daughter began playing with DC Way a few years ago as part of its relationship with Sports on the Hill. We met Coach Denis immediately. He founded DC Way and plays an active role in coaching and overseeing the details of how practice is run whether boys, girls, or older kids. The sessions are impressive. We're big fans of DC Way. Our 6 six year old son has taken part in outdoor and indoor camps, clinics and after school programs. And he's developed a greater appreciation and enjoyment of soccer because of them. Talented group of coaches and staff. The drills and instructions are fast paced and fun, and always inclusive of different ages and skill levels. Sessions are totally enjoyable to watch. This past summer was our daughter's first experience with the DC Way summer camp. She worked with the younger athletes as a CIT while also working to develop leadership skills and improve her soccer game! Coach Denis and his team are amazing. Both of my boys (10 & 8) have taken a few clinics through DC Way and the amount of improvement in just one season has been wonderful to see. Denis & the coaches are also really good at getting the kids to focus, supporting them in a positive manner. Both kids confidence and skill level get better and better. Our daughter loves playing with DC Way and has a lot of fun with the team. The coaches emphasize good sportsmanship and team building. The coaching staff has a years of experience both playing and coaching. They are always courteous, professional, and encouraging. We really can't speak favorably enough about Denis and the DC Way team. They are professional, highly organized, deeply thoughtful, and inspirational as coaches, teachers, and role models. They have made summers, spring breaks and days off of school easy for us, because our two boys love spending their days off with DC Way. I had one of the best experiences last summer as assistant coach. Coach Denis runs one of the most professional soccer clubs I know.
