If you like people, this is the spot for you! There's a whole myriad of them scattered all over…read morethe place. All ages, all sizes! If you want to have no parking, yep, come on down. This is THEE hub. Because of the egregious amount of people, expect to park far as hell from the complex. Even better, use your phone flashlight to illuminate your walkway because there only a few street lamps. Perhaps this is why, even in the crosswalk, you too can have an invigorating rush as your life flashes before your eyes in the stark headlights of a metro bus who never heard of a brake! Finally, enjoy the amenities in the aquatic center two informational desks down in a basement where lockers require $1.00 in coins. Quarters to be exact! Because why not! You've paid for a membership and/or a class, why not pay for the nostalgia of loose change! Who needs the year 2026?! Extroverts, this is the spot. Introverts, you will feel overwhelmed and wonder what fresh hell did you step in, probably try to power through until the pesky locker thwarts all defenses. You'll throw your hands up and peace tf out and say to yourself, yep I shall stick to the aquatic centers only. More manageable.

Hey friends! My friends and I started a new workout journey together. We decided to come here for…read morethe gym, the fitness classes, and the pool. It's an amazing facility. The fitness center is suitable for all levels. Equipment is well taken care of and has a great variety of equipment. There's two levels of workout space. The top floor has a walking track and many cardio machines. There's cubbies to store your things, if not, locker rooms are available as well. If you're shy like me, you'll enjoy this facility. Even on the weekends it wasn't too busy. Also there's plenty of space to workout with no one near you. The pool is nice! Great for children, it has a slide and waterfall. The hot tub is warm and clean. -Day pass is $5. Memberships are $20. -There's a cafe on the main floor. -Plenty of parking. -Staff is very friendly. -There's a gymnastics studio and a track where local students practice. I'm excited to try one of their fitness classes. I hope you enjoy.

Our 5 year old daughter has LOVED her week at Headfirst (Multi-Sport, St. Albans). I'm writing this…read morereview because I had some concerns after reading other comments - but I think for most children Headfirst would probably be a great experience. It is an investment, but not out of line with other options in major East Coast cities. We are visiting DC from out of town and were all anxious before the first day, but the week at camp has exceeded our expectations. Other kids have been great and every interaction we've had with the counselors/coaches has been very positive. Our daughter has looked forward to camp every morning and informed me last night that she didn't want to go home because she "didn't want to leave" her camp. It's definitely a bigger camp, so that is a consideration if your child would benefit from a lower staff:child ratio. The counselors are on the younger side, but for us - this was a plus because the energy was high and infectious.

This is the second year in a row my 5 year old attends this camp and I couldn't agree more with…read moreJimmy's comment here - this camp is ridiculous. If your kid "doesn't listen" they'll call you constantly to notify you about really unserious stuff. My son has been to a gazillion different camps and attended daycare/school since he was a baby and he's NEVER gotten in trouble other than at Headfirst. Yesterday they even kept him in the "office" for the entire afternoon. Over what? Unclear. I will never be sending him there again.

Morning drop-offs and Afternoon pick-ups are nothing but chaos. The kids working on curbside are clueless and unhelpful. They make kids watch TV on those rainy days because they have nothing else planned for them, when you pay thousands of dollars. No thanks.

I had high hopes for Congressional Camp based on rave reviews from friends, but my experience has…read morebeen extremely disappointing. On February 1st, I tried to enroll both of my children for a one-week session to see if they would enjoy it before committing further. I successfully signed up my son, but my daughter was waitlisted. Since we needed both kids in camp at the same time due to work schedules, I immediately contacted the camp for insight into whether she had a chance of getting in. It took two days to get a response, only to be told that the waitlist had 130 people and she would not be getting in. Realizing that it didn't make sense to send just one child, I immediately requested to unenroll my son. Weeks later, I finally received confirmation--along with a $200 cancellation charge! It's absurd that there was no way to place my son on a waitlist before enrolling, forcing families with multiple children into an impossible situation. This policy is unfair and completely lacks consideration for working parents. If you have more than one child, I'd strongly advise against this camp unless you're okay with paying a steep fee for a situation that's out of your control. This experience makes me question the camp's priorities--would you want to send your child somewhere that doesn't understand the basic point of camp?

Now I have kiddos who keep asking whether we can go again. Just bought tickets to see the Snow Man and the Snow Dog show for the holidays and looking forward to it. Update: Snow Man and the Snow Dog was not loved by the kids (3 year old and 5 year old), personally I felt it was really boring too. High production value but just not captivating enough. My kid loved the original video but couldn't wait for the play to end.

Here is what you need to know: + Garage parking is free on Sundays + Tickets are sent electronically along with a helpful email and storybook pdf that helps prepare young children on what to expect when they go to the theatre + The theatre is truly intimate -- there is not a bad seat in the house (Trust me -- we were last row, on the side of the stage and still had a great view!) + Children's shows can be quite corny and cut corners when it terms to production value but not at Imagination Stage. I was really impressed by the quality of acting and the set of "Dory Fantasmagory." + They offer lots of free programming such as "Meet the Cast", family yoga, and a children's fashion show to go with the play. I went with a group of children ages 4 - 11 and they had everyone entertained. Seeing everyone's faces light up and laughing out loud has truly filled my cup of cuteness for the entire week. Thanks again Imagination Stage. Can't wait to visit again!
