I followed his post-operative instructions to the letter. I also decided to regularly take eye health supplements. Fourteen years later, I needed cataract surgery in the same eye and then 8 months after that I needed a laser capsulotomy for a secondary cataract that developed again in the same worrisome eye. After all of these procedures, I'm now getting 20/20 vision in that eye with use of prescription glasses which I always needed for driving. We were both happy with what she did, and how everything was explained clearly. Prescription eyewear selection followed and that was fairly smooth as well. I thought the frames selection was somewhat limited but I don't have anything to compare to currently. Overall happy with everything, and will return in the future.

I went in again and there was this one lady at the front desk who was extremely rude and unprofessional. When I approached the front desk to request a printout of my contact lens prescription as suggested by Dr. Rubin, she insisted I had to pay for both a contact lens exam and a glasses exam, even though I hadn't requested a glasses exam, and my glasses prescription was still valid from four months ago. I paid, but requested explanations. Despite explaining my insurance coverage and situation, she remained adamant, refusing to listen and even declined to provide my prescription print out, citing distraction from billing inquiries. She then callously added, "You contact your insurance. If nothing else I can help you. You can be out of here." When I suggested Dr. Rubin come out to explain, the lady at the front desk callously retorted, "Dr. Rubin doesn't own the business. It is what it is; you have to pay for two exams." This further added to my disappointment and frustration, as it seemed to dismiss my concerns entirely. Feeling frustrated and disappointed, I requested Dr. Rubin's presence myself, and he and another front desk staff member clarified the billing procedure and explained changes in my insurance policy. Despite this, I still questioned the necessity of double exams, especially given the recent glasses exam. While Dr. Rubin is excellent, the behavior of one team member left me feeling disrespected and dismissed, tarnishing the overall experience.

I went in for an eye exam and the dr. was extremely aggressive - he forced the contact lenses in my eye without my consent instead of letting me put them in myself, made me feel like I was inconveniencing him when the different lenses didn't help my vision and then he prescribed such a horrible quality/ type of contact lenses that I developed small cysts under my eyelids and can hardly wear lenses anymore without my eyes getting EXTREMELY dry!! Pls save your eye health and never visit this doctor!! He should be banned!!

I had…read morebeen doing to another practice for a couple years, but they seemed to be focused more on senior patients and it was a cumbersome process. My experience with Dr. Ephraim was 5-stars across the board! He was timely, there was never any waiting, and it was overall an extremely pleasant, easy process. There was no puff of air (argh! thank goodness), yet he had technology that I've never had used on me from other places that was able to show detailed digital images of my eyes and its cones, etc. He prioritized both the health aspect of my eyes as well as the accuracy and optimization of the prescription which was exactly what I was hoping for. There was no pressure to buy glasses or contacts from them, which I appreciated. Dr. Ephraim was also super-personable and funny, and his staff was efficient and professional. I paid out of pocket because I didn't like the experience I had elsewhere, and it was worth it, but he does take multiple vision insurance providers. Note: I did originally have trouble connecting with them for an appointment and didn't get an answer the first couple times. I called a bit earlier and that helped to finally connect.

Heading to the 9th floor, we headed into the Washington Eye Physicians and Surgeons. The place is pretty spacious for the waiting room. Speaking of waiting room, there is a place in the back where you can aquire some "Cool, clear water" to drink. There may even be books to read while waiting for your party. Not a bad place to leave some unwanted books too. Second thing I noticed is the 2026 sign for the NEW ZAdministration Fee STARTING at $50.00. Apparently this was started just this year by the Doctors of Washington Eye Physicians and Surgeons. What will new year of 2027 bring? My dad told me his insurance for this place use to be taken, but not anymore. Now my dad has to file his own insurance. Blue Cross Blue Shield is one type of insurance one has to file to their own health insurance. Why? Because when Washington Eye Physicians and Surgeons file the insurance claim, it is rejected. This will depend on one's health coverage...feel free to get more information on this with the front desk agent(s). This place seems pretty expensive, but if they get the job done, then the cost is worth it. From what I saw my father's is happy with the outcome. The place's ambience was peaceful and moving like a well oiled machine. I would like to say the staff was helpful and polite. There was a mistake done and the process to correct the problem was handled swiftly. I will continue with a followup if the problem wasn't finalized within two week time spand of today. All in all, today's experience was a good one.

She had to wait over an hour for her appointment, and when the doctor finally arrived, she was dismissive, cold and poorly communicated post-care instructions. Bedside manners are important when you are treating elderly patients (or any patient, for that manner), and I'm afraid Dr. Tom doesn't have them.

I received a text message a few days in advance of the appointment clearly noting time expectations of the appointment (our appointment thankfully only lasted about an hour). I was able to fill out my forms online. The receptionists were kind and welcoming. The nurse who dilated my son's eyes was very patient and kind, as you can imagine my son did not enjoy getting his eyes checked and dilated. Dr. Chang also did an excellent job in the examination and dealing with a not so happy baby. I appreciated how easily he explained everything and was able to answer all of our questions.

Appointment was confirmed multiple times over text by the office, including the same day. The website said they were open despite the weather, yet no cancellation notice from the office. (See image.) No one was there upon arrival. No one answered the phone. No subsequent phone call the following day. That is not what I would call patient-centered care.
