This hotel is convenient and walkable to many Midtown destinations, such as where our party was held (Biltmore Ballrooms, one block south). We had after-party drinks at the bar downstairs. The drinks and service were good. One of my friends, who works for Accenture (which has offices nearby), always stays at this hotel when he's in Atlanta. He prefers it. Also, one of my coworkers stays here quite a bit, and the staff knows him as a regular. The building first opened in 2009 as the Hotel Palomar, a boutique hotel managed by Kimpton. It was rebranded as the Renaissance Atlanta Midtown Hotel in 2011, after the property was acquired and the management transitioned to Marriott. The hotel recently underwent a renovation in 2025 to update its guest rooms and meeting spaces.

As a Titanium Elite Lifetime member, I'm always interested if I get upgraded when I arrive. The host at the front desk said our room was upgraded. Turns out my room on the 18th floor was no upgrade. So, I headed downstairs with my luggage and asked if I could get a unit with a glass shower. That was the magic words that got me upgraded to a suite on the 21st floor. Lots of room, luxury and great views. Although the hotel doesn't have a club level or M Lounge, it provided breakfast vouchers for Bonvoy travelers. Although the vouchers say they're good for only a continental breakfast, you can order anything on the menu. So go for it! We've had a great stay after the check-in. Everything was clean, bed was super comfy and they service the rooms daily. The hotel's Rowdy Tiger restaurant has an awesome bar and food service. I'll review it in more detail in a separate review. The only issues I'd flag is the in-room Wi-Fi signal wasn't steady and the bath towels are rough. That makes no sense in a luxury property.

The course was in need of some upgrading under the old ownership and that is still the case under the new owners. You can see where they are painting the Clubhouse and getting some sand added to the traps. There are a two greens that are near impossible to putt on making our groups take automatic 2 putts. Course maintenance is sorely lacking due to the low points in the fairways and most sand traps being full of leaves and piles of sand. At this point it is not worth anywhere near the one hundred dollar green fee. The cart paths will rattle you're brain. Everyone that we came in contact with was very hospitable. The bar and table service was excellent for our group. The guys cleaning and taking our golf clubs to the bag drop were excellent as well. Hope they get it together for next year.

Nichole made sure everything ran so smoothly, like I even forgot I hired a caricature artist until someone reminded me Nichole had set him up on the terrace. Kelly somehow knew where all my stuff was better than I did & is an excellent writer so she helped us with our signs. They have a private bridal suite in the women's locker room ground level and a men's locker room upstairs. The decor is elegant and perfect for mood lighting. The food was amazing! The chef knows what he's doing and has such good recipes. You must go with the Asian steak. The lemon drops from the bar are excellent as well. We got beautiful lakeside photos and got to ride around in golf carts and my husband never drove one before so that was a journey. The wild rice pilaf, Asian steak & gorgonzola salad were my favorites. We also had salmon, rolls, and prime rib on our menu and mixed veggies and scalloped potatoes. Plus apps like beef wellington, crab cakes and coconut shrimp. Literally everyone was talking about the food (in a good way) If you're unsure about this place, hit me up and I can show you more pics or give more info but this was an excellent decision for us.

Once upstairs it was easy to find seating and a waitress was coming up within 10 minutes. I ordered the Cardinal it's really good and sweet but if you don't keep it mixed the syrup sinks and without the prosecco it's no longer enjoyable. So I ordered another lol. After that I also got the beekeeper but it was way too smoky for me but the presentation was nice and the rock candy garnish really good. The last drink I ordered was the Peachtree and that was my favorite reminded me of like a peach lemon drop. By the time I thought of food the kitchen was closed but the menu was small from what I noticed it's a true bar menu so either come early and eat at 5church downstairs then enjoy the rooftop or just go to waffle house after like I did lol. All in all I had a great night the dj was good until he left before midnight. I will continue to come back.

I touched down for the "Jazz on the Rooftop" session,…read moreand the live saxophonist was definitely the highlight--sliding through covers and originals with the kind of ease that makes a date night feel effortless. The spot is huge with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, so you aren't cramped while trying to catch a vibe. The 1000 Masks cocktail was smooth and balanced, avoiding the sugar-trap I expected from the blueberry syrup. We started with the Yuca Parmesan Truffle Fries--solid crunch and the truffle wasn't aggressive--and the Togarashi Tempura Veggies, which were light and crispy. I went with the 5Church Lamb Burger Sliders for the main; the gorgonzola fondue and red onion marmalade combo was a heavy hitter, though the lemon-dressed arugula kept it grounded. The food was a solid, reliable choice--nothing that'll change your life, but definitely tasty enough to keep you satisfied while the music does its thing. If you want a laid-back, intentional atmosphere without the extra noise, this is the move.

The wonderful vibe there was only improved by the superb service by Maila our server and Brie, the bartender who served us our wonderful cocktails and hand delivered them with a smile. We ordered 3 appetizers which were generous in size and 2 entrées. Here's what we got: Sticky Lamb Ribs (our favorite appetizer), sushi tots, soy glazed pork belly, shrimp and grits, and crab and calabrian chili bigoli. To drink we selected scent of a Woman, and a pineapple fizz mocktail. For dessert we ordered a strawberry shortcake creme brulee. We were stuffed by the end of the meal and very happy with our experience overall. 5Church Buckhead is a 5 star establishment and gets my two thumbs up as well. Thank you for an outstanding meal and wonderful time for my wife and I celebrating our 18 year anniversary. 5 stars!

I've…read morealready written a review on Google, to which the owner replied and lied about when we arrived, which I have proof of on there. I am only writing a review on here because of their dishonest response. I booked my wedding dinner here for 18 people. We were running about half an hour late and let the restaurant know. We thought it would be fine because our reservation slot was for 2.5 hours, which is plenty of time. From the moment we arrived service was extremely slow. Drinks took forever to come and some were forgotten. My friend got a virgin raspberry mojito and it was so sour it was undrinkable. We had asked multiple times for one regular menu to order from and for some simple syrup for the mojito, neither of which we got. We pretty much had one server for our table of 18 people, and he was serving other tables as well. He told us at the start that another server would be helping but she was barely seen. It got to the point where my husband and I had to get up to talk to management. They were apologetic, gave us a bottle of rose, and asked how they can make it better. I told them that things need to be on time not just because we were approaching the end of our reservation but also because we had plans right after. Service was still slow and once we were finished we were still sitting and waiting for the check. We ended up being late to our other plans. Keep in mind this was our wedding day. We had just gotten married and everybody was in a great mood. We were nice and clearly communicated our needs even though service was lacking throughout the whole dinner. I write a review and then a day later they reply to my review, telling lies to try and discredit me. As if the poor service during dinner wasn't enough, their timing and dishonesty reflects their lack of respect for their customers. We spent over $2000 which included a 22% gratuity fee. Such a waste of money. You couldn't pay me to come here again. If you're looking for a restaurant for a wedding, proposal, anniversary, celebration, graduation, reunion, date, large party, or really anything, save yourself the trouble. They just might treat you the way we were treated, and then lie about it to try and make you look bad.

Having mediocre food is acceptable for me and my company if the ambience and service is better. But this place, the service was terrible, mainly our server. I came here for my birthday as a present from my sister. The ambiance is pretty. This place is mostly famous for the building and its location. The high tea for two is terrible: the tea sandwiches are made in stale and dry bread. The desserts are semi good and the scones are hard and dry as a rock. If you are someone who has very little experience and afternoon tea and high tea, this might be the best experience of your life. If you are someone who appreciates a calm and friendly service, this place is not for you, especially if you are an experienced and avid tea drinker. SERVICE: our server took our order like a McDonald's server without any friendliness or enthusiasm. She was not polite either. She seemed very unhappy to be there. When we asked about their most popular menu item, she was overwhelmed and took a deep breath with deep annoyance, replying: " I have no idea what people are saying about our menu online. And I wouldn't know our popular menu item either. People like different things on our menu." This was a very disappointing experience.
