Been here a couple of times... Overall, I love the nails/services that they offer, there almost ALWAYS is a wait even if you make an appointment (unless you are super-regular, or a know a nail artist personally). So, I would not recommend for anyone who needs to get their nails done in a time crunch. However, if you have some time to spare, it is worth it to check it out! read more

Honestly i've been going here for over two semesters but their time management is horrible and they don't prioritize the people they have in their chairs and would rather pick people with appointments and then also let the sit with unfinished nails while they finish up the last person. Price is great but this is ridiculous and its clear they don't value customer time. read more

I went in as a walk in and was attended 5 minutes later (: I decided to get no chip gel in black and I think I was attended pretty well. When I went in my nails were broken and looked super bad because I had just popped off my acrylics, as you can see in the photos my nail tech did pretty good. I cannot remember the name of my nail tech but he was a guy and was very polite with me and in a very good mood. Will definitely be returning! Also a no chip gel is $30 which is pretty great! read more

I got paronychia (skin infection )from going to this salon. Unprofessional, disgusting, unclean place of business.

Had to wait 45 mins when I had an appointment, but nails looked pretty good. A lady walked in a they took her before me, she seemed like a regular. read more

I came here with three other friends and I attempted to get a pedicure. Mid pedicure the lady asked me if I could I wait while she went to do someone nails that had an appointment (I had an earlier appointment time than this woman). I didn't mind waiting until three other people started getting their nails done. I had been waiting for a hour and a half and then an another lady started buffing my nails just to turn around and start working on someone else. All of my friends were finished and I didn't even have both of my feet done. I asked for a discount before they finished and she simply said no so I just decided to leave because the service was so bad I did not want to pay full price. read more

If this was the last nail salon in the world I would still never go again. This is my 3rd time going and they never take me at the time of the appointment. Today I had an appointment at 4:30 and I waited for 30min before she let a random walk in go before me. I told the nail tech, "I was here before her and I had an appointment" and all she said was "ok". So inconsiderate of other peoples time. I will never give them another dime. read more

Brought my 13 year old daughter and her friend here for acrylics. We had an appointment but they were busy so we waited for a few minutes, no problem. The girls picked out their nail polish. Then they got seated and started right away. Both girls are nail biters so had nothing but stubs to work with and that was fine. The girls are really happy with their fancy nails. I've been to this nail salon a handful of times and I have been meaning to give it a review for awhile. Great service every time I come. I've noticed on each visit they pay attention to details especially when shaping my nails and they do them fairly quickly but not where you feel rushed. I have had different technicians at this location and they all seem to do a well job. Havent been disappointed on a single visit thus far will continue to return. read more

Had an appointment for 4pm and didn't get seen til at least 4:45. The place is poorly run with no systematic way to schedule appointments and see customers. Super disappointed read more

Every time I go in, even with an appointment, the wait is easily 20 minutes or longer. There is no sense of customer service and when I called to make an appointment all I got was "we are busy now, ok bye" and got hung up on. They are not gentle at all with your hands, especially the man that works there. The last time I got my nails done by him his hands were sweaty and I felt uncomfortable. Also he told me it was "extra" to get my nails filed into any shape that isn't the original acrylic. I've never heard of anyone doing that ever in any salon, and have never been told that in the previous times I came. It seems sanitary enough but I definitely would not recommend this for a relaxing manicure. The attitude is more of "everyone in and out as fast as possible". For a cheaper price you get a much better service at other places a little further away. read more

I had an appointment at 4 and sat for over an hour to get be seated to do my nails. Although I had an appointment they ignored it and took walk ins before me. Meanwhile there were 3 people sitting at the end of the salon giving me disgusting stares instead of working. The quality of the nails were poorly done as well. The whole nails wasn't even covered in polish and they had done too many coats which created a large lump on my nail. The quality and customer service is extremely poor and I would not recommend this place. read more

I wish I could rate 0 stars, because they deserve it! I had a pedicure today. My nail tech asked me if the water was warm enough. When the water was low, it was ok, so I said it was ok. But as the water filled up, it became too warm so I told her that the water was too warm, and asked her to lower the temperature. She started to insult me in Vietnamese. Some other techs also stared at me and joined her in commenting further about me and my step-daughter. Unfortunately, I can speak, listen, read and write Vietnamese very well. I was so shocked, I didn't believe that she could insult me right in front of me just because she thought that I couldn't understand her. They also used inappropriate language to talk about their customers. I complained to the owner, and told her that I was not going to tip my nail tech, but I was nice enough to pay for the service I used after she insulted me. I asked that my nail tech apologize for insulting me. The tech lied about what she had done and refused to apologize to me. The owner didn't do anything other than stare at me and wait for me to leave. I repeatedly told the owner that I was waiting to talk to the tech. And finally the tech said sorry to me. My step-daughter got her acrylic nails taken off and did a French dip. As you may know, it's a painful process. When they were working on her nails, they complained loudly about my step-daughter's fingers. They could have simply asked her to relax her fingers to help them do their job, but they chose instead to be rude to her so that I had to step in to ask them if they needed help!!! From that moment, they realized that I knew what they were saying about us, so they started using less offensive language. This salon is absolutely the worst one I have ever tried in my life. We will definitely never go back again, but I would like to let you know that you have better choices in town. You deserve respect in any language when you are paying for a service. We were supposed to have a relaxing Saturday together, but we ended up feeling angry and stressed and had to pay $80 for poor treatment and abuse. read more

Dazzling was the only salon my friends and I went to for our entire four years as students down in Champaign. I can understand some of the frustrations if you're a new customer such as wait time and whatnot - but remember the sheer volume of students and locals in the area. They are serving a massive community with not a lot of CLOSEBY competition. Many students don't have a car to drive out to Savoy or DT Urbana to try other salons, and would prefer somewhere walkable and not reliant on the bus system. That being said, the biggest thing I appreciate about the Dazzling staff is once they recognize you as a regular and you form that connection with them, they're incredibly kind and invested in you. I'd always be asked about my friends who I'd come in with on previous occasions, or we'd talk about plans for the holidays or their children. This is what I've noticed about a lot of the people who have poor experiences here - they're not respectful or kind to those working. The ladies working would be met with complaints over reasonable wait times (especially without appointments!) and I even heard disgusting comments about them not speaking English. Maybe there's a correlation, maybe not, but that's just what I've observed. Very thankful to have had Dazzling close by and affordable when I was a student. read more

I am not one to write reviews but this was by far the worst experience I have EVER had at a nail salon and I regularly get my nails done. I came in to get a set of acrylics removed and they had me seated towards the back. The stations were dirty, I had no idea if the tools used were sanitized, and over the course of my visit they had three different techs work on my nails. They spent TWO HOURS soaking my nails in acetone and trying to grind the acrylic off. My nails were painful, paper thin, and bone dry by the end of it and somehow there were still bits of acrylic left over. They took off a great majority of my nail bed and absolutely destroyed whatever was left of my natural nails. I was mortified and wanted to walk out without paying but I didn't have the balls to do so. Never come here. read more

Hi everyone. Just got my nails done here. It smelled like chemicals and I thought I was going to pass out. The people are sweet but over scheduled and had to wait a very long time. I was also told to soak my hands in pure acetone to get my existing no chip off. They then used gel nail polish instead of regular polish for my manicure. they said it was regular (it was not). In conclusion, I would not go here if you are looking for a regular manicure. Unless u enjoy breathing in fumes. read more

My favorite nail place in Champaign. Everyone here is so kind and skilled. I appreciate you all!

Dazzling Nails is a great place to get your nails done if you go to U of I. They have plenty of options and the price is very good for the service. Something I dislike is that the wait can be pretty long, but the colors they have are very nice and the polish is quality unlike CAMPUS NAILS. Would recommend! read more

I had a friend in town visiting me this weekend, and since I have only been living in Champaign for a few months, I wasn't sure where to go for a last-minute manicure and pedicure--on a Sunday no less. Dazzling Nails saved the day. Every nail salon I could reach was closed except this place. Despite being busy--we didn't have appointments although you can schedule them if you want--we didn't wait more than 20 minutes, and the place was packed due to Mother's day. Both of the women who did our mani-pedis were quick but very thorough. They did a great job and my nails still look great a week and a half out. The service was very conscientious and friendly, and the cost very reasonable. My friend also got her eyebrows waxed at the last minute: - Manicure $10 - Pedicure $20 - Eyebrows $8 Just on the other side of the Amtrak station and tracks, and inside a little mini-mall, you can get your nails done and then head to the Green Street Cafe or ethnic market next door for a snack. The only downsides were the tight squeeze of the location, how busy it was at 3pm, and the lack of ambiance, but the service was excellent. I highly recommend this cheap yet thorough salon. read more

Disgusting place - unhygienic conditions: - Manicurist took tools from some dirty coffee mug, not from individual plastic bag. It showed me that she didn't even antiseptisized them. - Manicurists borrowed tools from each other. After using the tools they've just returned tools to this dirty mug. WTF?! - There are dirt, dust and smth else on the floor, in the corners and near the floor moulding. They do not clean their own furniture and floor. Disgusting. - Manicurist hurt me, she knew it coz I made this sound when you're afraid and have been hurt - like "tssssssss" - she didn't even say "sorry". This is very strange for me. This place offers you cheap prices, but I don't think it's the reason to go there. It's better to pay extra 5$ and know, that tools been aseptisized and you minimized the chance to get hepatit B or nail fungus. read more

I have to echo what Elizabeth T. said about this place! It is literally the only nail salon open on Sunday afternoon in Champaign! For $30 bucks, I was able to get a manicure and pedicure done at 4pm on Sunday! The place was definitely very busy and we waited roughly 15 mins or so without an appointment. Everyone was very nice and accommodating. I loved the big screen tv in the middle of the place, which was playing newly released movies on DVDs (saw their pile of Netflix rentals). This is nicely added touch as it made the hour or so fly by! Definitely worth checking out if you're in town! read more

Probably my top nail spot so far in Champaign/Urbana. They do a nice job and listen to what you want. Prices are very reasonable and they have a big tv that usually has a popular movie on. However, I don't feel the comfortable conversation vibe as I do with the people over at Modern Nails. Also, the salon is not top-notch or anything.. you won't get a nice spa ambiance here but they do get the job done. I recommend bringing your own flip flops or whatever. read more

Today was my first visit here so I went with an open mind. I needed a pedicure and didn't have time to drive across town to my favorite place during my lunch hour. It was pretty much what I expected and nothing much exceptional. Quick & cheap. The girl who worked on me did a fairly good job and didn't rush through it. What bothered me about this place was there were 4 workers but only 2 did all the work. One of the poor girls was about ready to drop a baby and I watched her do an acrylic nail set and a pedicure. The other two, clearly one was the owner, sat on their butts eating food and playing on their phone and iPad. They shouted back and forth and laughed very loudly. It was very annoying. I did not feel comfortable in this place. It wasn't the cleanest either. It is unlikely I'll return in the future. read more

First, this isn't a bad nail salon services wise. I think they do a decent job at actually doing your nails. There are good things about this place but the bad things are Extremely frustrating. first down side, it's a really small salon. That's not necessarily a bad thing, but it does mean that the smell in there is so strong it gives you a headache in 10 minutes. Biggest thing is it's definitely first come first serve. I've had appointments, still had to wait over 30 min. Even if it's a walk in and they say they can see you right away, it's still going to be a long wait. I was there today and after waiting 45 min with multiple other girls, none of which got seen while I was there, I just left. They rarely if ever tell you to just come back later even if they're super busy, bad customer service in my opinion. read more

Not a bad spot to get a quick and cheap manicure. It's not a fancy place but the staff are very nice and efficient. Good color choices like most other places OPI and Essie. It's very inexpensive. I think 10 for a basic manicure. They also have no chip and other services. read more
