And the dentist even called me the next morning to check up on me cause it was close to a nerve. I was impressed They play very zen like music. My whole family has gone here for years. It's a great practice, albeit one that's a little quick to "upsell" you on needed procedures (that may be true for all dental practices, though). But recently, they stopped accepting Delta Dental--and failed to let me know while I continued to schedule new appointments, which were then billed out of network. I consider this unethical behavior, especially given that Delta Dental is, in my understanding, one of the most widely-used dental insurance plans. They absolutely should make this change clear to customers--I'd suggest this change would even warrant a big, clear sign at the front desk. I'll be finding another dentist ASAP. read more

I've been going to Dayton Dental since I was very little. I don't want to go anywhere else even though my dental insurance doesn't really cover them. I always say that going here is like going to a dental spa. They play music that helps calms you down and the atmosphere is more spa like than cold and sterile. I love the dental hygienist that I always have when I get my cleaning. She is so nice. The doctors are very nice too. They will talk to you and make you feel at ease. I live in Cincinnati now but will still make the trip up here for my cleanings and dental care. read more

Our lifetime DDS, Peter Shempp, made the decision to work from one office instead of two. Since we will follow him anywhere (as mentioned, he's our LIFETIME DDS), my husband and I had our first visit at DDC. WOW, talk about first impressions!!! Pulling up to the property was stunning, the architecture instantly puts a smile on your face. Upon entering, my husband's one-word description is accurate...Swanky! Liberty greeted us with a warm smile. And before your thoughts go in the wrong direction, she donned all of the proper PPE! In fact, the waiting area was set up for proper social distancing with kindly worded reminders (professionally printed signage, not the handwritten notes, which is also fine...both shows a level of care) strategically placed to keep everyone safe! And Liberty came out periodically to sanitize the area (my appt was some time after my husband's so I witnessed her due diligence). However, her smile shined through her eyes, voice and body language! You would have thought she was greeting an longtime friend. And that friendly demeanor was carried on throughout the staff. We had two different Hygenist, Roni & Dawn. The view in my room was the best! My chair was positioned to look out of a floor-to-ceiling window into a beautifully manicured landscape that was so relaxing!!! My husband begs to differ, he felt his view from his room/chair was the best! When we met back at the car it was obvious that this was the happiest we've ever left a dental appointment! While we LOVE our previous staff at the other location (and always will), we were happy our worst fears of moving to this new location never materialized!!! We debated for quite some time afterwards which of us had the better Hygenist; I think it was a tie! Great Job DDC Staff, keep up the good work. read more

Im not big on dental visits, but this had to be one of my faves. I'm new to the Ohio area and would constantly drive pass the office when taking care of my daily routines. I was always curious about what it would be like on the inside. Long story short- I was able to make an appt... The staff was super courteous, the office was next level.. Super clean and organized, it's like walking into a spa. I'm also a technology buff, so I loved the fact the office was very tech savvy, with all up to date equipment. I had my teeth cleaned which was great! But the camera wand allowed me to see my teeth from a whole different perspective, I could see each tooth right on the big screen. Anyway I def recommend this place... It's an absolute must if you are looking for a new dentist. One other thing that is a plus it's a one stop shop. I am a physician myself and honestly this is how all practitioners of medicine- be it dental, general, or heck veterinary too- should practice. The building is beautiful and serene- like a spa or a plastic surgeon in Beverly Hills. The staff (which I do take some offense that they are all beautiful women- what not one man wants to be a dental hygienist?) are very friendly and professional. My husband and I saw different dentists and they were the same- courteous, professional, and only recommending needed treatments. After being a patient here for many years, I have determined their strategy to rip you off. They give you a written quote, get you to agree, and proceed with the work. They then proceed to take several months to bill you while they claim "they are working with the insurance company" and during this time convince you to get more work done. Finally when it's all said and done your quote is meaningless and they charge you a crazy amount after you have had tons of very expensive work done. They have done it to other members of my family as well. I should have listened when they told me to go elsewhere. read more

They make me look forward to going to the dentist! This is the definition of a family dentist as my wife, son, and I are regular patients. Each of us has had varying levels of treatment plans from dental health maintenance to adult and juvenile orthodontia and everything in between. At each cleaning check up, you schedule your follow up appointments with your hygienist so that you know your hygienist as well as they know you and your dental history. The doctors are excellent and meticulous with their work. They are excellent at providing you with options that consider both budget and effectiveness so that you can make the best decision for you both now and in the long term. I really cannot say enough good things about the office, staff, and especially the dentists. There's a great peace of mind knowing that you are well cared for and their work stands the test of time. One of the dentists has been my family dentist for over 3 decades and we came to Dayton Dental Collaborative when he joined this practice and have been impressed with their overall approach to dentistry, the atmosphere of the office, and the qualify of people that work there. I was given this practice's information with a high recommendation and my experience did not match. I contacted the practice to schedule appointments for myself and two family members specifically because I was told my dental insurance would cover all preventative care provided by the practice. My wife again verified this when she went for her appointment. However, a few weeks later, I was billed for just under half the cost and when I attempted to call on two occasions I was told they would get back with regarding my insurance concern and then never called. I left a practice in Troy, OH because of distance and hoped to find a practice that operated at a similarly high level with excellent customer service, however Dayton Dental Collaborative provided poor customer service and made statements about my coverage that ended up being inaccurate and follow-up in relation to these inaccuracies was poor. I will not return to this practice and will not recommend them to anyone in the future. read more
