Today I had a wonderful experience with Amber, my dental hygienist. She was extremely thorough and. Dr. Hodge even complemented her when she checked my teeth. If you are looking for a new dentist or want to make a switch, I highly recommend this practice. I have had several procedures done here, including an implant. In April of 2023 I went to Absolute Smiles w two tooth aches. I saw Dr Saito and she told me I had an infected molar on the left and two cracked ones on the right and I needed two crowns on the cracked ones. I was going out of town until June and Dr Saito gave me medication. In June I saw her and she prepared me for the crowns. She gave 5 shots to numb the area and during the procedure she gave me four additional ones. When I got home I started having the worst pain that I have ever experienced. I called the office and there was a recording that the office was closed. After several calls I got two numbers to call for an emergency. I called Dr Saito for half an hour and she didn't answer. I was screaming in pain and crying. In desperation I called the police. They sent me an ambulance. While waiting Dr Saito called me and said that she was sending a prescription to Walgreens for steroid and the EMT would give me pain killers. When the ambulance came they said they were not allowed to give me medications. They took me to the ER. I waited for an hour screaming and crying before they gave me a pain killer. I went home and the next morning I went to see Dr Saito. Another dentist saw me first then Dr Saito. She told me I needed to have a root canal. I had paid $2,200 for the crowns that I did not receive. It took me 2 months to get an appointment with an endodontist. He took XRays and told me he wouldn't do the root canal on my cracked teeth because it was expensive and it wouldn't last. He told me to have the teeth extracted. I went to 3 dentists and they wouldn't do the extraction. One of them recommended Dr Cudney in Beavercreek. I had the 3 teeth extracted in September, over $3,000, two implants in January, $7000, two crowns at another dentist $4,000. I went through all this suffering physically, economically and emotionally because of Dr Saito's misdiagnosis and all the pain when she prepared my teeth for the crowns for her ineptitude at doing the procedure. I asked the office manager to refund me the $2,200 . She said she had to talk to Dr Saito and she would call me back. She never did. I called several times to talk to her and I was told she was talking to a Dr and she would call me back. She didn't. Every time I called they gave me an excuse For her not calling me back. To date I have not received a call or a refund. read more

We've received great dental care here and like the staff. I'm concerned with the wisdom teeth removal process and will not be taking my next child here for this process. I'll be requesting a referral. I am not sure why we expect teenagers to tolerate a high level of pain post-extraction. I am happy to try alternating tylenol and ibuprophen. That's a great combo and is effective in many pain types of pain. When the pain level is still a 6+ after taking both of these, then some other type of pain control should be ordered. The answer I received was that the teen would have pain for the next 5 days. Pain mild pain - yes. Pain of a 6+/10. No. That's unnecessary, uncompassionate, and unacceptable. read more

Was charged twice for a redundant evaluation in which nothing changed from my follow up appointment, called in to speak to the billing department, they are tight lipped and also unmovable and rather nasty and unpleasant on the phone. I was misdiagnosed with needing a crown when in fact I had some bone growing through my gums which was completely missed during the evaulation(s) and also the x-ray. The lack of customer service is rather apparent at this location. Also I got a partial made and was without it for 4 weeks after being told it would be there in a week, I paid a ridiculous sum of 500 dollars for. Also the dental staff who attended to me were all very young and inexperienced. I wish I could say you get what you pay for, but that's simply not the case here. read more

Just no. I had to get a temporary filling because I had a bad cavity and they 1. "Didn't have time to do it." 2. "Wanted to wait until further along in our pregnancy." (Fair even though it was ok with baby dr) and 3. Wanted our insurance to kick in first. So they charged me $99 for a temporary filling and told me that it would be ok for six weeks. They told me that the cavity was not bad enough for a root canal. They also said there was no infection. I went home pretty confident. A week later- the filling is out and my other teeth start getting sensitive and stuff is sticking to the cavity again. I call and they said that it wasn't supposed to last and they could refill it once more but I would probably have to get a root canal. I told her that is not originally what was told to me. I was told I would NOT have to to get a root canal that it wasn't near bad enough and that it would be ok for SIX weeks- not one. She ended our conversation with "I'm not arguing with you." So... no. There's dozens of other dentists in the area- don't do this to yourself. Save your time and money and go somewhere where they know what they are doing. read more

Three strikes 1. New to Dayton, get in with Absolute Smile due to tooth pain. Was told a filling cracked, was replaced. Tooth pain never resolved, turns out the pain is from grinding. Most likely the filling was never cracked in the first place. $ to Absolute Smile though. 2. Spouse also went in to establish care and have cleaning. A follow up appointment was made for filling of a cavity. After the filling she has experienced severe pain of that tooth that has not resolved after 3 weeks - she never had pain in that tooth prior to the filling. $ to Absolute Smile though. 3. Today I had a cleaning scheduled. Arrive and was told the appointment was scheduled incorrectly and may not get a cleaning, though hygienist will discuss. After waiting, go back and hygienist says they will take x-rays then we will discuss the type of cleaning, though will not actually get the cleaning today, which would mean missing time from work again, on another day. No thanks. No more $ to Absolute Smile. read more

Everything about this dental office is 5 stars!! Our dentist was retiring, so he had moved to this office so his patients could get started with a good dentist. My family LOVES this place! Every single person is sweet, friendly & professional. We usually see Dr.Fullenkamp, but Dr. O'Hara is also wonderful. I have had extremely traumatic visits to the dentist when I was young, but I am always put at ease. Even my hygienist, Teri, is AMAZING!! I have very sensitive teeth and she found a gel that sort of numbs my gums a little. She is really gentle and takes her time. She never makes me feel rushed. I've had several caps put in. Want to talk about nervous?? I was over the top. BUT, once again I was put at ease and all have been painless....except for that darn novocaine shot! Phenomenal dentist office. Dr. Fullencamp and Elle are great. They fit me in even when I was running late for my appointment. I've never been a fan of going to the dentist but they always make it a very pleasant experience. My family was unfortunately referred to Katherine Lauderbach-O'Hara after the passing of Dr. Gill. Dr. O'Hara insisted that I needed a tooth crowned and she saw a cavity in another tooth that needed to be filled. I just got home from visiting my NEW dentist. He said that everything is fine except that #1 the cavity that O'Hara filled is going to need to be redone (possibly crowned now) and #2 the crown that she put on was done improperly and he is going to need to remove it and re-do it. If you want paraffin wax applied to your hands instead of adequate dental work performed, this is your lady. If you value your teeth, go anywhere else. read more

I took my 3 yr old daughter in. Having a hard time getting her to let me help brush, I was not sure what to expect. I left the room, knowing she acts better without me around, but stood outside where I could listen. The hygienest did wonderful with her!! it has been days now since her appointment, and she is still eager to brush her teeth and let me help!
