5 year old service boots in chestnut after a re-sole and recondition

I bought service boots from Dayton back in 2011. I was really happy with them; expensive, sure, but great looking and comfortable boots. As much as I tried my best to take care of them, eventually, bad habits crept in and they got neglected. I knew I was due for a new heel and a new sole, but I kept putting it off. Eventually, they got so worn down that I felt like I couldn't even wear them anymore and was ashamed to bring them in! After they lived in my closet for several months, I decided that I had to have them back on my feet and brought them in for re-soling. I got a little bit of grief for waiting so long to bring them in but was assured that a re-sole was still possible and they would have them brought back to life in no time. Even though I wore them hard, their workmanship held up, and I was looking forward to the rejuvenation. It took about 6 weeks for the repair (I brought them in two weeks before Christmas, a busy time no doubt), but wow, was it worth the wait. What the hell took me so long? They look stunning. New Cat's Paw "no slip" heel. New sole. New laces. Reconditioned leather. They look like brand new boots, but they're not... they're the same boots I spent five years wearing (the insoles can attest to it). I honestly think they are nicer and better than when they were brand new... they're like-new, but custom-molded to my feet. I love these boots again, and I'm proud to say that I'm a Dayton owner. Back in 2011, I made the decision to skip the trendier Indy Boots and the mass-produced 1000 Mile Boots in favour of something locally made, and I'm glad I did. Thanks Dayton!

Fifteen minutes, a few hundred calories, and a quick Yelp search later, I found myself standing inside of their beautiful Gastown store. First, it's hard not to be smitten by the space itself. Wood, brick, and steel seem to be Gastown staples, and this space blends the materials beautifully. At the same time though, cascading wall plants and some strategically placed trees make the space feel cozy. Factor in the ridiculously comfortable sofa near the dressing rooms, and you just might find yourself inquiring about a sublet. As for the main event, the clothing, the styles are mostly classic (with some welcome twists), the fabrics look and feel expensive, and the cuts are on the slimmer side. You can find everything from t-shirts and chinos to formal suits and sneakers (and pretty much everything in between). And the best part - the prices are actually reasonable. I have to give much deserved kudos to the wonderful staff, who made my shopping experience enjoyable from start to finish. Their patience and assistance while I seemingly tried on everything in the store was greatly appreciated. One final tidbit, make sure to enroll in their rewards program, which gives you back 4% of your in-store purchase for next-time. The credit never expires, and is stored electronically in their computer system for your convenience.

If you are in their store, it is most likely that you've chexked out their website already. My review is based on the customer service I received at the Gastown location. Me being an old dude, I'm use to shopping at GAP where the staff are smiling and super friendly despite on the stupidity of my questions. In this store, I got a blank look when I asked for helped, as if like a regular dude like me don't have clothing questions. The staff was unsure on what products were in promotion which is fine, if I was in their place I wouldnt remember either. It wasn't all that bad, but I just got a negative vibe from the staff almost as if they were lifeless and annoyed. Essentially, Frank and Oak staff in this store really need to smile and greet customers as if they like being there. No attitudes despite on shitty the day is going. The atmosphere in the place felt very snotty which does not make a good shopping experience. Regardless, I will continue to shop here and continue to ask questions so beware staff I will test your patience. I like their products and their prices are fair. Good day to you all!

Although I was very happy with my purchases, I've given a low rating due to the terrible customer service. I've been to this location 3 times and have been completely ignored while shopping. What a fun area - and this large clothing shop was our favorite of all the clothing stores there. The shop is well laid-out, and it carries an extensive array of women's and men's clothing and accessories. Everything was trendy and cute, and best of all, the prices were quite reasonable. The sale items I saw weren't the usual odd-lot items, too; there were checked Vans slip-on sneakers on sale and other mainstream, recognizable items. In fact, my kid and I commented how we liked how there are many brand-name items as well as unique, lesser-known brands, and clothes we've not seen anywhere else. This would be the perfect place for a young professional woman to get her work and non-work wardrobe, as the clothes are on-point and the prices are right. I definitely would be able to find whatever I needed here.
