They have a sign that says you have to eat your food in their small lobby area and not take it to your room. (But I don't know if they enforce that.) Parking can be an issue. There were a lot of people with big pickups staying there and one in a nearby room practically blocked me in. (I was able to maneuver out because I had an economy car.) But that's not really the motel's fault. I'll stay here again if I'm by myself, but I won't bring my family here.

Only two issues arose during our October 11-13, 2025 visit: - the train tracks are nearby... intermittent train arrivals/departures at all hours - a transient almost approached my young daughters - for what? For such a young manager, she sure knew how to handle the situation calmly and competently. PROS + dogs allowed ($20 per night) + friendliest staff all the way around! + pool/hot tub available (could use a better cleaning) + very clean rooms, breakfast room - everything + good WiFi + decent breakfast items + affordable for the times! Front desk staff were great and very friendly and the reason they have 4 stars. The biggest downfall was the breakfast probably one of the worst at a Marriott hotel I've had. I've eaten dozens of Marriott breakfast so I have a general idea of what is served, but this one seemed barely edible the eggs were lukewarm and the sausage was like a hockey puck. I'd absolutely stay here again but I may go to the Town place Suites for breakfast.

They put me in another room, which was fine for the most part, but then the shower had the bottles of shampoo and body wash torn off (not sure if they weren't working so the previous person tore them off the wall?). The weird part is they were put back nicely in the corner so maybe the cleaning people did not report that they were off of the wall and just left them that way. Then, the shower did not drain at all. I checked the drain, it was open, so it must have been clogged. They need a room-by-room punch list of items in this hotel for sure. The ladies at the front desk were all very nice, it just needs a pick me up for sure.

There aren't too many hotels in Portales, but I would say that Super 8 is one of the better ones…read more The hotels Holiday Inn and Super 8 are located close to one another on 2nd St. Since many out-of-town students were arriving during the same time frame as us, my friend booked a room with two queens fairly early on before our actual stay. We arrived pretty late in the evening, but were able to check in and head up to the room without any problems. There's parking all along the outside of the hotel. Super 8 isn't as fancy as Holiday Inn, but it gets the job down and feels pretty secure and safe. There are stairs inside that lead to the rooms. For the room: -Clean and spacious -Bedsheets are a bit old-fashion -Lighting is quite yellow -Microwave and mini fridge inside the room -Lots of outlets to allow for charging of devices -Wi-Fi was pretty fast as well -Bed was on the stiffer side, but pillows had good fluffiness to them -AC/heater worked well Bathroom: -Bathroom definitely showed wear and tear; could see cracks on the hardwood floor -Toilet and sink area were clean -Towels were soft enough and clean -Some cracks in the tub area, but shower area was clean As for the breakfast - they serve continental breakfast every morning. I thought the assortment was pretty decent! They have bread and pastries, cereal, and fruit. I was most impressed by the waffle machine - fluffy waffles that weren't too sweet. I also thought the coffee had good flavor and kept us awake while we went back to campus for presentations. I did get to check out my friend's room at the Holiday Inn, and if prices are pretty similar - I'd go with Holiday Inn; however, Super 8 is not bad at all and if you're needing a decent room for a good night's rest, I'd definitely recommend it. The workers that helped us were friendly and nice - and they had Starbursts at the front desk! Good stay for several nights in Portales.

Chosen for…read moreconvenience, Boutique Air became the most inconvenient experience ever due to shady customer service, mishandled baggage, delays, flight cancellations, emergency landings, and being driven to the destination rather than flown due to malfunctioning aircraft. To start, plane was delayed. We chose Boutique to get to Clovis Municipal Airport and avoid a 4hr drive to/from the airport at Lubbock or Amarillo but plane broke down midflight and the plane had to land in Lubbock. Then we were told vehicle transportation would be provided which is what we were trying to avoid in the first place. For some reason someone had to drive from Clovis, to Lubbock, and back to Clovis rather than offer a vehicle straight out of Lubbock. It was an extra difficult wait without any food the whole day. Also, the day prior we double checked with Boutique customer service and a phone rep assured us automatic transfer of luggage between United and Boutique at DFW. That was incorrect and our luggage was left behind. Boutique kept delaying arrival of our luggage on several subsequent flights due to a number of different lame excuses and never apologized. We had to physically show up to air our grievances to try and get any sort of real solution or compensation for our luggage. They never owned up to the fact that their employee misinformed/lied to us and instead actually blamed us for using a 3rd party (Travelocity) rather than booking directly with United.

These planes are not large enough to be capable of takeoff/landing in high winds, so of course there is grace for that. This is convenience over all other things, I'd rather have a 1.5h flight (even if it gets delayed) than drive 7+ hours to Dallas. Logistics aside, customer service has always been 10/10! I lost a ring on a recent flight without realizing it, called later that day, and they found it! Not only did they find it, they very willingly offered to deliver it, and did!! They're awesome!!
