When I checked in in September, I was supposed to be here for 60 days. However, circumstances have changed, and I'm looking at 190 or more days. When I first checked in, the hotel was a little short-staffed, but they were still friendly and responsive to my requests. My birthday was in November, and the staff went out of their way to make it special. They made me a special breakfast, cookies, and gave me a present. It was all waiting for me when I went down that morning for breakfast. They have been prompt to respond to any maintenance or housekeeping requests. A few times, they have had to move my full clean day due to heavy checkouts, but they have been prompt about completing it the next day. They are happy to receive my packages and hold them until I can pick them up. Today I came home to find the cutest Christmas tree in my room with a note from Jess, the GM. Since I will be away from my family for the holidays, they wanted to do something nice for me. While living in a hotel isn't anyone's first choice, if you have to do it, Townplace Suites is a cute, clean, cozy place to be. read more

We stayed at the TownePlace Suites in Clovis after a long 7-hour drive, and unfortunately, our experience was very disappointing. When we first checked in, the room had a slight odor, but we tried to overlook it. However, once we got into bed, we realized the sheets and comforter had a strong, unpleasant smell. I contacted the front desk, and they provided clean linens, which I appreciated. After changing the bedding ourselves, the smell was still very noticeable. Upon further inspection, it became clear that the odor was coming from the mattress itself, which smelled strongly of urine. At that point, it was late, and we had no real option but to sleep on the pull-out sofa for the night. The next day, we were moved to a different room and were told the original room had to be taken out of service because of the issue. While I'm glad it was addressed, it was concerning that this was not caught by housekeeping beforehand. I requested to speak with a manager about the situation and was told I would receive a call on Monday. Unfortunately, I never received any follow-up. Overall, this was not a good experience, especially considering the cost of the stay. The lack of quality control and follow-up from management was disappointing. I hope the hotel takes steps to improve housekeeping inspections and customer service moving forward. read more

What a DUMP. Hampton Inn is much better, but completely full. Super noisy with loud appliances running all night. No desk space for working, no counter space in bathroom. Elevator was broken and had to stay in first floor. Room fronted the parking lot and bright lights shone in room so you do not feel safe at all. Then the fire alarm (?) light in ceiling flashes intermittently all night. A hellish hotel. And the room smells stale and not clean. Who wants to sleep in a kitchen that has not been sanitized? read more

Spent two separate nights here, the first floor room was bigger than the second floor one we had (both were double queen suits)! Front desk was friendly and so were the guest service staff. During Covid they still include breakfast which is delivered to your room, oh so punctual! Love the kitchen and all the appliances. By the reception there's a convenience corner where I found a flavor of the Talenti Gelato (organic) that I haven't seen elsewhere - oak aged vanilla, it was $8 but worth it because there's a fridge/freezer in the room ;) read more

Excellent choice for a trip to visit family, for a PCS, or TDY stay. The hotel was clean, with a full kitchen in a 2 queen bed room. The continental breakfast had basics that were good and fresh. The staff was pleasant and helpful, the manager was available and working with his crew. Highly recommend this hotel for a nice stay. read more

When in Clovis this will be our go to place. It looks pretty new so it's clean and nice. The construction crew actually did such a beautiful job on the shower tiling that we thought it was a shower surround at first, but upon closer looking you see it's just gorgeous grout lines!!! The hard part was figuring out where the entrance to the hotel was. The guy that greeted us was friendly and welcoming, but forgot to tell us there's breakfast available so we had to grab fruit and yogurt to go. The rooms are small, but perfect with everything you need. We do recommend staying here. We were in room 107, which is the pool view. read more

I had an unanticipated need to stay overnight in Clovis, "not a bad place", and it's nearly 5p. First stop, Holiday Inn Express..."Full"....not sure that was the truth. Room was not cleaned properly. Even after asking for them to clean the specific problems, they left it nearly the same. Management expressed very little concern and did nothing to make up for the problems. Their breakfast ranks compared to that of an elementary school. Ever see a car tumbling off a cliff in slo-mo? I've stayed here many times over the years. When the hotel first opened, it was great. It's gone steadily downhill. It's dirty and poorly maintained. Housekeeping is a joke. I notified management on my first day about a flickering track light, sent a note a few days later to remind them, and never even heard back. The rear exit door, which I've always relied on, was broken during my entire stay. Housekeeping threw away perfectly good soap, kitchen sponges, etc, and laundered my towels that I'd hung up - huge waste of resources including energy and the water that is in such desperately short supply in eastern New Mexico. When I wrote them a note asking them to please only take out the trash and not change my towels, they threw away my soap and sponge and did not bother to replace them! The breakfast bar was poorly stocked - not even any butter for the first three days. Clearly, the hotel is under poor management that is running it into the ground. Given the sheer quantity of irksome issues on all fronts, I won't be staying here again. read more

We were surely fooled by all the positive reviews provided and were very confident with our booking before arrival. When we arrived, it was obvious our room was not properly cleaned... We all know what can happen in a hotel, but no one wants to see evidence throughout the room they've paid for. When brought to an employees attention, they had housekeeping come clean, but they left stains on the lower part of the mirror and didn't touch any of the markings all over the window. The pillowcases they replaced for us were left on our lounge chair. We provided a video (pictures of the video attached, I hope it suffices) to management and requested just a nights refund (we stayed for the weekend) The manager couldn't provide a credit but offered us points, claiming a nights stay ranged from 13000-15000 points; She then followed up with an offer of 1000 points. It was overall something I'd never want to experience again in the hospitality industry. The only thing we enjoyed was the tv channel selection. read more

My usual hotel chain was booked so I ended up staying here while on a business trip in Clovis. I must say I was extremely pleased! The gal at the front desk named Tiyana really deserves recognition. She was happy, pleasant, and very informative. I checked in w my Yorkie in tow, I had made arrangements for my Yorkie Oscar to stay with relatives in Clovis as my normal hotel chain does not allow pets, but I was pleasantly surprised the Town Place has a really great pet friendly property & she gave me all the details. So I'll definitely keep them in mind from now on for travel. I've been accumulating points for 3 years now with a different chain & have risen to a preferred status & earn free room stays but the experience I had at this stay has me considering to use Towne Place Suites & any other Marriott establishments from now on. The experience starts with the first person you check in with and just continued to get better and better. Tiyana was a class act professional and I want to say sometimes in the rush of life we lose our spark but this girl has it and is a great representation of professionalism, and class for her company! Big thank you! I got a lil mushy and actually said "ahhhh!" When I entered my room and saw the tv screen with my name on the monitor with a greeting. I loved all the little special touches, I noticed them all! I stayed here two consecutive nights and was very pleased. This hotel is the worst of marriot! The staff is incompetent at majority of all of there duties. The breakfast was aweful, had to ask 3 times to refill the coffee. The pots an pans in the rooms are seriously used an disgusting. Being pet friendly the place smells like piss, I see this place being new now but another horrible marriot within 2 yrs. read more

We found ourselves caught in a New Mexico blizzard on our way back to Texas and found this gem of a hotel at the last minute. I was apprehensive about booking rooms here because there were only 4 reviews (on the hotel site-although each one was positive), but I had enough Marriott points to cover 2 suites and we were exhausted, so we booked anyway. I'm so glad we did! This is a new hotel, so the amenities were all great, the staff was super friendly (Jason at the front desk was so sweet and patient despite being very busy with weary travelers trying to find rooms at the last minute). The beds were comfy, coffee was fresh and the complimentary breakfast filled us up before we hit the road back to Texas. I would definitely stay here again should I find myself stuck in Clovis. read more

Place is terrible will be checking out this weekend. The management hassles you about getting keys and like to make false accusations. Not to mention the cleaning staff doesn't know how to pick up trash when that's all they do for the week because they "deep clean" once a week. read more

Clean, beautiful, and welcoming hotel! We made a reservation an hour away from town and it was easy. The person making our reservation and meeting us at the front desk was welcoming and had a mask - which was not the case at a hotel where we stayed last night. This was an impromptu stay on our road trip across the US. Everything was great! Clean and tidy rooms that looked recently built or renovated. The room we had was 2 queen suite. General manager is Jessica Reyes. She has a hostile attitude towards everyone (employees and guests). She kicked two people out of this hotel because she didn't like our questions regarding housekeeping and other issues. I discussed this with a couple local people and an associate who is from Clovis but no longer lives here. They all said that her, her attitude, and the fact that we got asked to leave by the manager was "not surprising at all". So, take that for what it's worth but I'll be looking to file a complaint with the BBB and adding reviews to other sites as I find them. I've also lodged a complaint with Marriott customer care and hope to hear back from them next week. This hotel is a great hotel but with the potential of getting kicked out for asking too many questions I would not recommend it to anyone who expects standard hospitality practices to be in place here. One wrong word and you're out. read more
