Not great! Well... at least not @ 10:30am…read more I wanted to try out the ONLY donut place in town because that's how I roll! Aside from spicy, I like my food sweet too. I've been dreaming of a "chocolate cake" donut. You know, the smaller donut that's fully chocolate with chocolate glaze. It can also come with other toppings like nuts, coconut, sprinkles and all that the jazz. I was really excited because it's a franchise and Daylight Donuts general website was looking pretty solid. I knew it was late but I thought maybe they'd still have an alright selection to choose from. Their open from 6am to 12pm. We were an hour and a half shy of closing time. I really thought I did a descent job @ factoring in our timing and the small town thing, but I guess I was WAY off base here. So, upon walking in you got your three older gentlemen seated in a corner table that didn't seem too friendly. We pay them no mind and head to the empty donut case anyway. There were about 8 pieces left. Nothing fancy and seriously, they weren't appetizing to look at either. I decided to get a few anyway because my kids were looking forward to it. I got two maple bars (one Bavarian filled & one regular) and a chocolate bar also Bavarian filled. The worker didn't really understand me when I said I'll take the two Bavarian filled and an additional regular maple bar so she stuffed my bag with two and rang me up. Not realizing that happened, I was still shocked to find that my total was $2.87 for three donuts. Little did I know I only had TWO in the bag. Thinking she made a mistake I went back up and she apparently thought I said one of each. Okay, whatever. So, I bought a plain maple bar to add to the bunch which cost $1.38. SMH THE REASON for my novel is because I'm just not use to the high costing donuts. My cousin even warned me that it might be pricey because they don't have any competition. If I want a damn donut, it's gonna cost me. Shoot, if I were back @ home another dollar or two spent would have given me a DOZEN. YES, $6 gets you a dozen FABULOUS looking donuts. Now, a little note on the actual donuts themselves. As I said, they were the bottom on the barrel and it looked like it. Small with bubbles in the lack of glaze. You can't really ruin the taste and I'm glad about that. The only downer was the filling. It was WAYYY too sour. I'm familiar with Bavarian cream and that taste didn't complement my donut. It was also lacking in filling. Overall, it wasn't the best experience but I will say that I wasn't there during peak donut time hours. I'll have to come back earlier to see what this place truly is about. Until then...!!

Absolute great place for awesome yummy donuts and the friendliest people work here!…read moreMy sister and I stopped in today while we were waiting for our family to finish a hot air balloon ride. We planned on getting one donut each and coffee snd left with 7! The donuts are all beautiful and have delicious flavors- def NOT your grocery store variety! We had a blueberry streusel, bacon maple bar, Andes mint/ chocolate cake donut, raspberry filled, Bavarian cream maple, Carmel apple pie, and a peanut butter cup topped glaze- we cut them all up and shared between 4 of us. All fine and rave reviews!! The young man helping us was friendly and had great suggestions and was super patient with us - took us a bit to decide! If you're near this shop - just go! Treat yourself!! Oh the coffee was yum too ! We bought a bag to bring home! And it's a Veteran Owned business!!

As soon as you walk in, you're greeted by a counter full of creative, over-the-top donuts in just about every flavor you can imagine. There really is something for everyone. I'm not a fan of overly sweet desserts, so I kept it simple with a glazed donut and a strawberry cake donut to pair with my coffee. The glazed donut was enormous, light, and fluffy without being overly sweet. It paired perfectly with my cold brew. Move over, Krispy Kreme, you don't have a dog in this fight! The next morning, I enjoyed the strawberry cake donut with a hot cup of coffee, and it was just as delicious. Fresh, flavorful, and the perfect start to the day. Whether you're someone who loves classic donuts or you're feeling adventurous enough to try one of their wild specialty creations, Hurts Donut is absolutely worth the visit. I'll definitely be back the next time I'm in town. Hurt's also offers a Military Discount.

We went back to the drive thru and informed them of the missing item and they let us know it wasn't available and offered a replacement item. By the time we were almost home. I decided to check the whole order and noticed there wasn't a chocolate walnut, they replaced it without our input with a chocolate sprinkles and we also found they didn't give us one of our Kolaches as we ordered 3. Highly disappointing since this was our first visit and there were so many errors and lack of communication. There was also a $2 online service fee. We haven't ordered in person but I would not recommend ordering online.

Coming from SoCal, we have a lot of really good donut shops, so I'll admit... I'm a bit of a donut snob lol. I can definitely tell when oil is old, donuts aren't fresh, or when the texture of raised and cake donuts is off. Everything here was seriously so good. I got the breakfast flight, and it was AMAZING. The banana coffee was delicious, and I honestly didn't expect to love the everything bagel donut as much as I did! I also tried a few other donuts, and the lavender donut was the bomb.com -- perfectly balanced floral and sweet without being overpowering. The pretzel chocolate donut was incredible too. Not only was the food amazing, but the shop itself is so cute and has such a welcoming vibe. You can really tell how much love and care goes into everything. This adorable little couple-run donut shop is absolutely worth all the Instagram hype. I almost fan-girled and told them I'd been following them forever on IG lol, but didn't want to come off weird I'll probably be making another stop there on Wednesday before heading back to SoCal!
