Stopped in to get a few donuts. Walked in to a very LOUD phone conversation that the clerk behind counter was having using speaker on their device. Instead of telling her very loud, chatty friend to hold on, they continued their conversation. I had to repeat myself very loudly myself as to the 2 donut types I wanted. With barely an glance at me, she finally got my order right and shoved in a box. Still talking on her phone call, with a loud child adding to the already loud speaker on the other end of her phone, she gestered toward the card pay. First off I'd like to mention that donuts are one of my favorite food groups lol I guess I will be the oddball out here and say that I didn't think these donuts were very good at all. Maybe my expectations were higher based on the reviews. The donuts were fairly small, and on the plus side, they were fresh, but they tasted very cheap to me. They even seemed slightly soggy from the fryer oil. The main thing for me that was an immediate turn off was that the cases were so dirty. I've never seen cases like this in my life in a donut shop. There were so many smears and finger prints all over the windows that it looked like crowds of children with sticky hands came through and all put their hands on the windows. I think a lot of the smears were from inside the case. I tried to look past it, and still order a few donuts. I would have typically walked out but since we made a special drive there I felt obligated to try it. This reason strongly affected my feelings toward the donuts. I don't know if my experience was outside of the norm, and I feel bad to give a lower rating to a local shop. In the other Yelp photos the cases look clean, maybe this was a bad day. We went on a Friday evening at 6-7 PM. Perhaps they had a busy day, but we were the only people in the shop at this time. I live in an area with alot of good donut shops, this was just okay. The frosting on the Cookie Monster tasted like generic canned frosting. I didn't like the bacon donut at all. The blueberry cake was okay but I've had much better blueberry cake donuts. If you're looking for donuts in Colorado Springs, don't look any further. Amy's donuts is amazing. The neighborhood surrounding the shop is a little sketchy. But these donuts are worth the trip. Soft and doughy, and sugared to perfection. Normally, donuts at places like this with specialty donuts, such as Voodoo donuts, are way too sweet. But these were perfect. They do run out of selections fast, so I'd suggest going in the morning if you want a variety. This was great though. We will be back! read more

Could easily be a five. The donuts are great!! I've order ahead online twice with a pickup time. Neither time were they ready, and each time there was a long wait for them to be ready. They do not seem to rush. I thought the ordering ahead was in case you were in a time crunch but it seems it is just to pay and choose donuts online, which is still nice to be able to do. The service has not been friendly either time I was there. Both times I felt like an inconvenience when I told them my order at the drive through. If they could be clear about what order ahead entails or have them ready at the time selected, it would boost it a star. Absolutely Horrible Experience - Found Metal in My Donut! If I could give this place zero stars, I would. I went to Amy's Donuts last night and bought six donuts. When I got home and took a bite, I was shocked to find a piece of rusted metal inside my donut. Disgusted and concerned for my safety, I immediately went back to the store to let them know. Instead of addressing the situation professionally, the guy behind the counter was completely rude and dismissive. He straight-up told me, "It's not my problem" and even had the audacity to call me a liar, saying, "I wasn't there when you bit the donut, so it's not my problem." That level of customer service is absolutely unacceptable, especially when there's a serious health hazard involved! I asked for the manager's number, left a message, and got no response. The next day, since no one bothered to call me back, I went in again and asked them to call the manager directly. The manager was finally reached and was at least polite, and I did get a refund. But at that point, the damage was done. Finding metal in food is dangerous and disgusting, and the way this situation was handled makes it clear that they do NOT care about their customers. I will never be going back to either of their locations--I wouldn't trust them with my safety, and you shouldn't either. Go somewhere else. read more

Superb donut place with some really good raised and cake donuts options. They have two clever options not typically found in other donut shops that we have visited: 1) Their raised, round, powdered donut is not pre-filled and the filling type is customer selectable. He was generous with the raspberry filling 2) Although not advertised, they will add crushed nuts to any plain frosted donut. My wife requested peanuts, but it seemed like they were walnuts. Either way, it is a great option considering how hard it is to find nut-topped donuts these days. I got an Almond Joy and Bananas Foster, 1 of 3 banana-themes donuts offered that night. Realizing that offering banana on a donut can be challenging, I wasn't too thrilled to discover the bananas were dehydrated pieces. Still, not bad. Also got a chocolate glazed cake donut, which is also more rare than you would think. Their cake donuts had wonderful, crispy edges. We showed up on a Thursday evening at around 8 and were the only ones there. The man behind the counter was not very chatty, but got the job done. Tried these while I was visiting Colorado Springs for a work trip. I pre-ordered online and went to the drive-through to pick the order up. I sat at the drive-through about five minutes before someone to even came to assist me and at the time there was no one else in the restaurant or at the drive-through. Then there was an issue with the online order and my order was never sent to the store although it charged my bank card. They put the icing donuts on their sides back to back and the icing sticks to the bottom of the other donuts and the icing comes off the donuts. I mean the customer is paying the bill. Visit family in the area and they told me I must stop here for donuts. They said the selection is unique and vast. They are right on both points. It is a very cute donut shop. The decor is really done well with Marvel heroes for kids and of local Denver sports athletes. The donuts are good and fresh and the selection is awesome. These were the worst and most expensive donuts we've ever tried. First, we couldn't tell if they were open when we pulled up and saw that the drive thru was closed and then saw a small sign on the window that said they were open inside. We went inside and it was quite depressing in there. The staff were not very friendly, and when we asked if the bismark was filled we were told no but they could be w "anything over there" and pointed to an area w filling machines and handwritten labels stating what filling they hold. I was headed to Colorado Springs for the day and told a visit would be incomplete without a stop at Amy's so I naturally popped in. There were a couple people ahead of me upon arrival but they were basking in awe at the display so I was up sooner than expected. Variety is definitely not a shortcoming here. I decided to get a dozen, even though I knew my friends and I wouldn't be able to eat them all, there were just so many I wanted to try. Amy's has a donut for just about everything you can think of, from candy donuts to cereal donuts to bacon donuts and so on. I picked up all time favorites cinnamon sugar cake, vanilla sprinkles, and nutella crumb for a friend, and I was on my own for the other 8. Some highlights include a rocky road, chocolate sprinkles, Smores, Twix, maple bacon, and Heart Attack, which is more artery clogging ingredients than any sane human should consume in one sitting. It's hard to pick a favorite from all the ones I sampled, they were all truly good. Amy's excels in donuts that are large but not too dense or heavy. The dough is rather light and fluffy, so even though they're loaded up with sweet toppings, they're relatively easy to take down and don't feel like a brick in the stomach. They have some more "basic" donuts too, but you only live once! Why not indulge? Sweet tooths rejoice, this is heaven. I could have easily packed up two dozen different flavors and still not tried everything that enticed me. Prices were not as much as I would have expected for a dozen; 12 fancy donuts in LA would cost much more. There's a parking lot and the colorful sign is easy to spot. This place has fantastic donuts! I tried the Glazed Bar filled with vanilla custard. Oh. Em. Gee....that was the BEST cream filled donut I have had in a long while. The dough is not overly sweet which is a good thing. Has the perfect thin sugar glaze for yummy sweetness. The vanilla custard is fantastic with just the right amount of sweetness. (Not so sugary sweet that your teeth hurts). We have a group of people, all ordered different donuts, and ALL of them are fantastic. The Creme brûlée donut was by far the best donut I've had. It reminded me of a spice cake donut with a fluffy texture and custard. The touch of berries truly add to the experience. The S'mores donut was also great and the marshmallow fluff was a perfect addition. The orange creamsicle donut tasted EXACTLY like an orange creamsicle to the T. It amazes me how spot on they were with the flavor. The strawberry shortcake donut was also a great donut. If you've ever had a strawberry shortcake ice cream, it tasted exactly like the outside coating of the popsicle. Although subtle, the flavor was still there. The Andes Chocolate Donut also tasted great. My only complaint would be that that donut was very mint forward to where it overpowered the donut. Lastly, the cinnamon roll (not pictured) tasted almost like a glazed donut, I wish there would have been more cinnamon. Overall, I would HIGHLY recommend Amy's Donut, staff is great and patient while we were deciding which flavors to choose, and the crème brûlée donut is a MUST try. read more
