Best latte I've had in a long time! Haley was my barista. As I was enjoying my latte a gentleman came in with his daughter trying to verify his daughter's previous employment when this coffee store was owned by another owner. He was very aggressive and intimidating with Haley. She handled herself with Grace and dignity. Honestly if I were in her place I probably would've called the police on this gentleman. This was a good find. The avocado toast was good but not great. The avocado taste like a spread instead of fresh and the bread needed to be toasted. I still rated them 4 stars because the people behind the counter were great. We ordered a smoothie and really didn't care for it but was able to replace it without any hint of irritation. If you happen to be passing through La Junta or need a new spot to get some grub, I implore you to go here. We ended up staying in town for the night and when we woke up, the entire area had lost power. The two people running the shop were absolutely so kind and allowed us to come in and get a bite to eat with what they had. Excellent lunch spot! We ordered the Chicken, Bacon, Avocados wrap that was recommended by the friendly barista and The Club Panini (ham, turkey, bacon, and 2 cheeses). The sandwiches were so big we ate just half of each and will call the other half dinner later today. I had a delicious almond milk latte and my husband loved his dairy milk latte on our road trip from Connecticut to Tucson. (We weren't sure what to expect since we have mixed results with ordering coffee when we travel.) The barista was friendly and attentive and clearly knows her craft. I did not want my usual fast-food breakfast. The Barista delivered well. I had the breakfast croissant sandwich and a large unsweetened tea. The barista stepped out and delivered my tasty tea within minutes. A few minutes later the cook stepped out with my sandwich. The sandwich was delicious and filling. The Barista is a local coffee shop in the heart of La Junta. Positioned next to a US Bank and across the way from the DMV and courthouse, this rustic establishment has a lot of cute features. It's spacious interior has a nook right up front near the door where you can purchase a few random goodies. They have honey, jams, and even unique baby bibs. Nearby you'll be able to get comfortable on one of their couches. They're far from being found on the modern decor showroom but they do offer a whimsical touch. You'll also find a good amount of tables closer to the kitchen. There you'll find a drink menu with smoothies and coffee blends. They also have a hefty amount of food to satisfy your taste buds. Though it looked tempting, I just went for a good hot tea for me and a blended coffee drink for my cousin. The tea was exactly how it should be considering it was just hot water and a tea bag of my choice. I asked my cousin how his was and he said it was just okay. Whatever that means, right?? I can't make a great assessment of this place based on my tea so I'll just have to come back to try one of their food items and possibly a smoothie since The Barista said they're all made with a green tea base. Pleasantly surprised by this offering in eastern Colorado. Simple coffee shop atmosphere with ample selection of coffees and teas as well as wraps, paninis and sandwiches. They serve Solar Roast which is a local roaster in Pueblo so awesome to keep the money in the area. I had the chipotle turkey sandwich on gluten free bread. Was a little dry which is pretty common on GF bread - not their fault! Overall, sandwich was really flavorful and I loved that they offered cherries as a side instead of the usual potato salad or chips.
