I went for a Breakaway party and it was such a nice adventure. I loved the food and menu and looking forward to trying more. The grounds were beautiful and the gift shop was well stocked and great pricing. I really liked the different selections of soda waters, teas and alcoholic beverages. Very nice time. Thank you Day Dreamer Domes for being a great host to our group. We will be back for sure.

Semen on comforter

Nightmare Domes!!!! Please Read before booking! I checked into the Daydreamer Domes 12/26/2025 for a birthday get away with my 8 year old son. Prior to arriving at the property, I received a message stating that the room that I originally selected was having plumbing issues and had to be switched which was no problem. I was switched to Dome 1. I went to the room late in the evening and got settled in. I sat on the bed and noticed that there were white Semen stains smeared all over the Emerald green comforter. There was also Semen stains on the Emerald green chair located in the Dome as well. I contacted the owner Missy Fojtik and she stated that she switched me to that room without ever checking the room and went on to relate that they had a new cleaner who she knew was not cleaning the rooms properly. I expressed my dissatisfaction with the cleanliness of the room and she switched me to Dome 12. Which was extremely far from Dome 1. I gathered my belongings and walked though the pitch black night with only the light from my phone because the property does not have any lighting. Upon arriving in room 12 I noticed that there were cookies located in different locations all over the room which let me know the room was not cleaned as well. I was late at night so I went to sleep after removing black comforter off the bed. Upon inspecting the comforted in room 12 I found more dried semen on the comforter!!! I booked the room for a relaxing experience and was met with filth. No one should be subjected to sleeping in someone else's bodily secretions. It's clear that they do not wash the comforters to save time and money. I originally booked the room for the soaking tub but decided not to use it because the room was not cleaned. I attempted to shower but found that the "rainfall" shower sprayed every direction but down!! This led me to have to take bird baths in the sink! I truly could have just stayed in the woods because this is not Glamping. The owner Misty offered to refund me for my stay under the pretense that I would not give an honest review of my stay but then only opted to refund one night forgoing what she originally stated. This was a truly atrocious experience and I will not be returning due to the unsanitary accommodations and the shady business practices of the owner!

We had worked with manager since June of 2025 on reserving the resort for our daughter's wedding (which took place Saturday, July 18, 2026). In the process of establishing room assignments (which we did all of the leg work on), the manager told us that to hold the resort, that a $1500 deposit would need to be paid. She even went on to say that if we decided not to use Sun 'n Sand for the booking, that the deposit would be refunded. To us, this seemed reasonable, especially since the website specifically states, "For just the cost of the rooms (which each guest pays), you can have the perfect wedding hotel room block at Sun 'n Sand Resort!" Then, as you can imagine, we were shocked to have the manager tell us this March that the $1500 deposit was not actually a deposit at all, but a $1500 fee! We found this out when we asked her to apply our $1500 deposit to our room cost, and she told us she could not. By this time, we felt that we had no choice but move forward since accommodations could not be made elsewhere for the size of group we had, and we chose to deal with this after the wedding to keep everything running well for our daughter's big day. Given that the website does not mention the requirement of a $1500 fee, nor do their posted policies, we would like our $1500 refunded. We felt that we can amicably resolve this issue without having to publicly post our experience on review websites like this, or seek resolution through the Consumer Protection Team of the Office of the Michigan Attorney General, but our calls and website feedback to PermaVentures (owners of the resort), went unanswered. I can't recommend this resort due to lack of transparent pricing.

If you're looking for the perfect place to stay for a beach vacation in Southwest Michigan, Sleepy…read moreHollow is it. We've stayed in Cottage #7 for several summers, and it has become one of our family's favorite traditions. The private beach is what truly sets this property apart. You simply can't beat the beach access--it's peaceful, beautiful, and never feels overcrowded. We spend our days soaking up the sun, swimming, and ending evenings with bonfires on the beach using the complimentary firewood provided by the property. Our kids absolutely love everything there is to do. Between the pool, tennis courts, pickleball, ping pong, basketball, open grassy areas for wiffle ball and games, and the complimentary bikes and beach cruisers, they're entertained from morning until sunset. One of our favorite parts is that they always seem to meet other kids staying on the property, and before long they're all outside riding bikes, playing games, and making summer memories together. The gated property also gives us peace of mind, making it feel incredibly safe for families. Cottage #7 is the perfect setup for us. It has a bedroom with two twin beds for the kids, a comfortable master bedroom for us, and a den with a pull-out sofa that's perfect when family or friends decide to stay the night. Having a grill and a washer and dryer makes longer stays so much easier. The kitchen has an eclectic collection of dishes and cups, but honestly, that's part of the charm. There's something nostalgic and fun about the mismatched, cottage-style feel that makes it feel like a true home away from home. The grounds are absolutely pristine and beautifully maintained, making every walk around the property enjoyable. Every year we're sad when it's time to leave, and before we're even packed up, we're already looking forward to coming back next summer. Sleepy Hollow has become much more than just a vacation rental--it's where our family makes some of our favorite summer memories. And yes some cottages are more updated than others, but it's the property and beach access you're getting that's priceless. Not having to pack up a car and drive to a crowded beach everyday is by far a luxury in itself!

The sandy beach area is level and sits up high above the rocky shoreline. There is a sloped path that gets you down to the water if you are feeling adventurous. Our room was spacious, very clean, and well stocked with towels, coffee and toiletries. The king-sized bed was reasonably comfortable, but sounded like it had a broken spring - very loud and creaky on one side. There were no bedside lamps provided, and one outlet was not working. We enjoyed the in-room jacuzzi and fireplace after we figured out how to turn them on. The property was mostly empty when we stayed during the week in early May, but we could hear the guests below us. I think, when fully occupied during peak season, it might get kind of noisy.

After returning home, both my husband and I developed numerous intensely itchy bites, with additional marks appearing over the following days. We are concerned these could be bedbug bites associated with our trip. We did not see or collect a bedbug at the hotel, so we cannot confirm the cause or where the exposure occurred. On the other hand we did not change anything else with our routine except this trip and marks were confirmed by a doctor examination as bedbug bites. The cleanliness we experienced during our stay was extremely poor and fell well below our expectations. Traveling with our four-month-old baby made this particularly upsetting. Since returning, we have spent hours inspecting our home, vacuuming, encasing mattresses, and treating our travel clothing and bedding with high dryer heat as a precaution. The discomfort, stress, and work involved have been considerable. I'm sharing our experience so other travelers can make an informed decision. Before booking, I would recommend asking management about recent pest inspections and how they handle guest reports of possible bedbugs. Based on our experience, I would not stay here again.

The happy hour and the incredible made-to-order breakfasts were the deciding factors in choosing Hotel Nichols. The location couldn't be better, easy walk to the beach and right in the middle of all the shops and restaurants. Our room was perfect, it was very roomy and had all the amenities we needed, the bathroom was huge. Most of all, we had fun chatting with everyone during happy hour, the wine was great, and the charcuterie board and appetizers were delicious. On Saturday night, Nick even grilled hot dogs for everyone, they were so good! Live entertainment and all! I read the reviews before booking, and everyone was right! Scott, Nick, Todd, and Aaron couldn't have been more welcoming and friendly. (The fact that I know their names tells you everything.) As we sat in the lobby drinking tea, I told my daughter I wish I had some chocolate, maybe I could run outside for something. Next thing I knew, Todd presents me with a small box of chocolates!
